As Lou Dobbs:
as this come to this, we are now outsourcing our medals to mexico.

That is a great story! I'm almost happier for his Mother. I hope she can relax now.

Why did CNN ever bring back Lou Dobbs? This man is such a bore with his constant phony independent refrain. Only low ratings will send him far away.

Watch for Fox Headline: ICE declines to respond as olympic athlete's, with questionable residency status, illegal alien family is detained at the airport as they wait for his return to US.

This is meant as sarcasm to those sympathetic to Lou Dobbs

I'll now add that I find the seam stitching of his singlet outstanding.

I know almost no one will like this comment, but if Mr. Cejudo is a LEGAL resident or citizen of the US, I join in congratulating him on his accomplishments. If his parents are still illegal aliens, then they should be deported. We can not keep playing with immigration policies.

Mr. Cejudo IS a US citizen. Did you not read the story?
You do realize he is on the US Olympic team no?

And the article states his father died in Mexico City.

Why does it matter where his father died? Henry was born is Los Angeles. He is as American as me.
Edit: Apologies mirth. I took your post the wrong way.

My comment referred to Mikki's statement that if Henry's parents are still illegals, they should be deported. It is obvious s/he didn't read the article or s/he would know his father is dead. Mikki didn't let details get in the way of a "deport the aliens!" opportunity.
Of course Henry is an American, one who through his hard work has brought honor to this country...much as his mother has done.
Edit: :)

As for neighbors, give me an immigrant family over US white trash any day.

Good point, bunny. I grew up in CA's Central Valley in the '40s, '50s (yup, that old). Many of my friends were children of hard working laborers. The parental example rubbed off on the children, many of whom became way more productive and successful than my "white" buds, or me.
PS: I LMAO about the Lou Dobbs comment in the article, above. So true. I cannot watch that man. My BP goes too high.

My Los Angeles-native, mama heart was warmed by this story. How thrilling for Henry Cejudo, his family, and the battered-but-still-here U S of A.

Yeah, What has Lou Dobbs done for this country besides exposing his ugly face of racism. I stopped watching CNN long ago. I don't trust CNN.

Great Story... but I do object to "saps...teary eyed". I happen to get misty over stories that touch my heart and make no excuses.

Felicidades al joven Cejudo!
