Hey Obama supporters, you know all that love Iowa sent your way in giving Obama his start. Well, the gay marriage decision means we're going to need some back as its sure to inflame the Republicans trying to take over the Iowa legislature. You see we've got our own gay marriage battle here in Iowa, which is now before our state Supreme Court which, as of this week, has a 4-3 progressive majority. And the legislature is at risk because the dems this year held firm against a Constitutional amendment to make our gay citizens second class citizens, which followed their actions last year in extending civil rights protections to the GLBT community. I hope it passes in Iowa. I personally cannot understand what the big deal is with gays and marriage. If two people are in love enough to get married then they simply should be able to. Why should it matter if they are opposite sex. It makes no sense to me. I just feel two people should be able to be married and happy together regardless if they are same sex or opposite.
I also cannot figure out how a gay couple getting married is a threat to people of opposite sex who are married. That is just messed up thinking.

If they could get away with it there would be a lot of homophobic bigots who would love to do the same thing in this country. And just like in Moldova as everywhere, the most viceral and violent homophobes are usually closeted queers.

I'd love to boycott whatever they produce but I can't think of anything. Aren't Moldavians actually Romanians, ethnically? Are they so messed up even Romania doesn't want them? I'll just be double sure to check the label on the next bottle of apricot liqueur I buy. Thugs
