What about Gaza? No news? I've seen plenty. And there is also the Pakistan/India situation. A program on CSPAN1 shortly about increased bigotry and violence against Arabs in the US (not to mention LGBTs and other groups). And the constant callers on CSPAN who managed to get the N word in to describe Obama before being cut off. And, there is also David Axelrod's performance yesterday...

    No news indeed.

Until the head of the serpent is severed, it will continue to extrude its wicked tongue. If the Israeli's play out this last round under Bush with care, they'll have enough death and carnage to capitalize on cheap labor for a decade.

When the people of Israel want Peace, they can have Peace. But, as we see here in the good ole USA, Peace doesn't pay with un-marked bills.

Fundy position on oneself being gay: "I've fucked thousands of men...I've hired hundreds of rentboys on the DL...I prefer gay sex to straight sex...I will continue to get head in men's rooms in airports....but I've found Jesus so all is forgiven."
  • Older_Wiser · 11 months ago
"And BTW, marriage is between a man and a woman, like I observe; after all, I gotta have somebody to beat on, be a walking womb, and subjugate to my will!. But that doesn't mean I can't be gay the rest of the time!"
  • woodnthrifty · 11 months ago
    Are you quoting Larry Craig?
  • woodnthrifty · 11 months ago
If you get the right to get married, will you stop all of this promiscuous behavior? If so, write to Rick Warren and tell him how gay marriage will benefit society.

If you don't want to go to hell, join the Jehovah's Witnesses cause they don't belive in hell. They will be knocking on you door Saturday morning. :)

Will they be as hot as the mormon boys who were here last weekend?
  • woodnthrifty · 11 months ago
Probably not. Those Mormon boys are special. Those cute young men wear name tags that say "Elder". lol

I saw Frost Nixon last night and it struck me that Gerald Ford set the tone for the destruction of the rule of law for the past 30 years by pardoning Nixon. It's amazing how one decision can start the ball rolling so quickly...Clinton kicked it further by not going after the criminals involved in Iran Contra. If Obama does not hold anyone accountable for the almost insurmountable degredation of The Constitution during the Bush Administration, I doubt we'll ever bounce back.
(BTW, I didn't know Diane Sawyer was part of the team responsible for rebuilding Nixon's image after Watergate...what a tool)
  • Bush Bites · 11 months ago
That's an interesting thought about the Nixon pardon.

Never thought about it that way before.

One thing, tho: Plenty of Nixon's top people went to jail, bet you none of Bush's do.
  • dula · 11 months ago
I think you're right. Ford said that by pardoning Nixon, the Country could then finally move forward. That is impossible when the rule of law is dismantled from the top down. Nixon's audacity in saying, "when the President does it, that means that it is legal", inspired Bush to do the same. It has to end here or it's the end.

John tends to avoid the Isr-Pal conflict as his view tends not to coincide with many who find Isreal's behavior unacceptable. I generally love the blog, and adore Chris's work, Joe too. I keep hoping John's thinking on the mideast will evolve, as our politifcians need to be whacked over the head for their complicity in enabling Israeli 'agression', their subservience to AIPAC, and their myopia when it comes to Israel. John has the ability to do so.

With all the economic hardships going on, now Minnesota has to suffer the tourism hit of people not being interested in traveling to see where a guy they never heard of solicited sex from a cop? Will the New Depression never end?

Bubbles can hardly believe that hubby is actually the worse President ever -- not the worst human being -- but the worst President: http://apnews.excite.com/article/20081228/D95BT...

Why look at all the good he's done did.

Oh, and Condosleezy and all her Cold War expertise is simply astonished anyone would think Bush was really that bad without the advent of History. What? Eight years in the past isn't history? She should quit furrowing her brow...it's starting to make her resemble her stilleto boots.

Israel is committing genocide in Palestine. Plain and simple. Zionist Israel has been armed and egged on by the Bush gangster regime. Will Obama alter the US/Israeli imperialism and colonialism in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and South Ossetia (Israelis and American military trained the Georgian army for its August 2008 genocidal assault on South Ossetia.
  • friend-o-palastine · 11 months ago
All Israhell weapons paid for by USA. And a recreation of the Warsaw Ghetto by Zionists has created devestation, hunger and medical emergencies in Gaza and now this. The wounded don't get treated... there are no supplies. And John and the rest of the 'liberal' blogs silent on the genocide.
    Zionists.

I want to see the Larry Craig Memorial Toilet Stall on exhibit in the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Surely it has as much historical significance as Nancy Reagan's fabulously expensive china set?
