If assets are comingled in the execution of the campaign, disclosuer should apply jointly to all financial assets.
Either that, or the finacial value of her contributions should be limited and/or subject to oversight as are those of any private individual making campaign contributions.

Go buy Cliff's book, everyone, if you haven't already!

And those separate tax returns to "protect The Children's privacy" is bogus, especially given that McSame is flying around on his wife's jet. If he says her money "doesn't help" his campaign, well, why doesn't it, now? By marrying her, he got a venue to run for Congress (1st District, Ariz.), and her money has helped him all along...

HELP: Is the "Hamas Endosement" a Fabrication? Hotlist
    by joyncassie [Subscribe]
Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 08:43:36 PM PDT

I'm new here, so I'm not sure if this is OK, but at TPM cafe this diarist asked to have this posed on kos.

So I thought I would oblige.

He is looking to see if anyone has the ability to do voice verification on the "Hamas Endorsement" of Obama.

UPDATE: Can anyone tell me how to send this to the Obama Campaign?

Hamas endorsement of Obama is Fabricated

    By politicsjunkie - April 27, 2008, 4:23PM

    Now that McCain has publicly
himself accused Obama of being loved by Hamas, I figured I should at
least check out the clip. I looked up the audio, and saw that the
interview was conducted by WABC by the oh so conservative John
Batchelor and the very very conservative Aaron Klein. For those of you
that don't know who Klein is,
he's a "journalist" at WorldNetDaily (a terrible paper) was the
individual who claimed to have interviewed the Al-Aqsa Brigaid and said
they supported for John Kerry president. He also made a similar claim about Hillary Clinton earlier in the primaries
but moved to Obama once he became the front runner. All in all,
apparently Klein is a magnet for terrorists looking to tell him their
opinions on US presidential elections. However, in all the previous
circumstances, he just asserted the claim in print, which is why it
never got any real traction in the campaign. With Obama, it looks like
he tried something different, to have a radio interview to convince
everyone that its real. But why would a top Hamas official choose to
do an interview with a notoriously horrible journalist from Israel??

Anyhow, I checked out the audio interview
that Klein had with Ahmed Yousef, the political advisor to the leader
of Hamas. I then decided to find some audio clips from more reputable
sources and to my ear, the individuals voices are distinctively
different, and have different speaking styles. I found four clips on
NPR. One, Two, Three, and Four. Unfortunately only a minute of him talking in each clip.

I couldn't find anything online questioning the validity of this, but it seems highly suspect. Anyhow,
I wish I could analyze the voices to see if they match up, but I figure
someone reading might know how to verify the authenticity of the
interview. Klein has done this too many times but never left evidence
of fabrication, this might have been his mistake by trying to get some
    authenticity.

How many scams does McCain have to pull before he loses his sainthood?

For repugs, it's scams that QUALIFY one for sainthood.

He will pull as many scams as he has to to win the Presidency. Rules don't apply to him, in fact they don't apply to anyone in Washington. The politicians, our supposed representatives, ignore the constitution, ignore the children with no health care, ignore the hungry and homeless, ignore our troops, ignore the need for oversight at the FDA, ignore the deplorable state of our educational system, ignore the American people they are sworn to represent, ignore the failed economy, ignore the need for a living wage, ignore the very essence of what living in America is all about--freedom.
Yes, Joe you must be free basing if you think that John Boy will do anything but what he wants. This is a man who has never held a job, has been on the government tit his whole life, lived the life of a welfare queen as a multi-millionaire.
Scam? We haven't seen anything yet.

You must be kidding! McCain served 22 years in the Navy. That's a real job, and it had the bonus of spending 6 years in a baboo cage being tortured.

4052 is the American death count in Iraq as of this morning. To McCain and Bush/Cheney these are just numbers--if they are even aware of them.

Good monring, AmBloggers! Maybe Republicans think of scams as assertive leadership. It goes along with the snickering laughs and the inappropriate body language and the meandering interviews. Remember, George W. nipped the sagging economy in the bud with his tax rebate scheme. Or was that a bud-wiser?

Can someone point out that Rev. Hagee is ruining McCain's campaign because of his whacked ideologies? How can this man want the destruction of the world and get away with it?
  • bulldog909 · 1 year ago
OK, this is how liberals lose all credibility. Yes, McCain flew on a family jet, and paid only first class air fare. Hillary flew around the country on a corporate owned Gulfstream 5 for the same price. The difference? McCain's jet was owned by his wife, Hill's by a publicly traded corporation. It was legal for them both. You just look stupid when you complain about people when what they are doing is legal and being done by all candidates.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
Bulldog, if McCain would stop insisting that he doesn't get any financial help from his wife, the this would not be a story. But he insists he is Mr. Clean, and so the lies make that claim a lie.

Just tell him to stop lying and get real about the rich wife.
  • bulldog909 · 1 year ago
Look, he is not getting any more financial help from his wife than Hillary is getting from the corporations that lend her jets. McCain could hop a ride on one of those just as easily if he wanted to. He is doing nothing wrong, and he is not lying. What is wrong with you people that you so totally hate people you disagree with that you try to attack them for everything they do? Critique his ideas, or his character if you want. But don't make up stuff, it just makes you look stupid.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
Tell him to stop saying he gets no financial help from his wife.
    It's very simple.
  • bulldog909 · 1 year ago
Must Hillary and Obama then admit to getting financial help from corporate America? If use of a jet is financial help, then they have more to admit to than he does. Stop trying to make a scandal out of something that is not illegal, and is being done by all candidates. It's that simple.

McCain is in the "dead girl or live boy" phase of his life. I am not sure there is anything he could do that could offset the fact that HE WAS HELD AS A POW IN NV PRISONS!

That is what makes him a foreign policy genius too.
  • Patriot · 1 year ago
I could care less if McSame jots around the country on his wife's jet but, attempting to throw Obama in front of that plane with a stupid comment that Obama doesn't care about poor people is absurd. Btw, what ever happened to that straight talk bus?
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
He can use a private jet all he wants but don't run the cost through the campaign as an expense.

He can't even run his own campaign competently.

"This is a man who has never held a job, has been on the government tit his whole life, lived the life of a welfare queen as a multi-millionaire."

Just like Bush, McCain shirked his military duty. Democrats need to point out that McCain did not show up for duty from 1967-1973. :-)

Think sometimes John should go back in the archives and republish classic posts that are still relevant.

DailyKos linked to one of John's posts this morning on McCrazy's past statements against "nation building"

The Democrats should start to peel away McCain's core supporters one issue at a time:

ROBERTS: Any time you are ever asked whether or not you would launch an independent candidacy for the president, you said, without fail, I’m a Republican, I’m a member of the Republican party. As a member of the Republican party, do you have any interest in campaigning for John McCain?PAUL: Probably not. Not unless he changes his tune. Like bring the troops home. He’s the greatest proponent of the war.

ROBERTS: How can you be a Republican if you don’t campaign for the Republican candidate? Particularly when you have an amazing well of support out there?

PAUL: Maybe you are a good Republican if you stand up for Republican principles. I would argue that leadership in the last few years has drifted from the Republican principles. More bureaucracy, more regulations, more entitlements, policing the world, but that is not what we stand for. I would say that our position is very much in tune with being a good Republican.

Loved Rev. Wrights speech of today and yesterday. He told it like it is. Power to the truth and the change it is going to bring. He spoke words of wisdom and of intelligence. I don't blame Obama for not leaving his church and I found Rev. Wright very inspiring.

THE TRUTH SHALL BE THE POWER!

    You've got the chronology wrong:

First he humiliated his wife and the mother of his children by having a very public affair with Cindy while still married to and living with wife # 1

THEN he divorced wife # 1 so he could live happily ever after with Cindy's money.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Makes a lot of sense, BB. However, Haiti wasn't pumping 2 million barrels of oil per day. We can go "hands off" in Iraq , but we'll have to secure the oilfields and the pipelines.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I don't know, dad, Wright comes across as "unhinged" in the clip. He seems to be trying to extend his "15 minutes of fame" at O'bama's expense. He didn't seem to be getting back much positive feedback from the audience either. Jeremiah's clips are going to be sucking up a lot of oxygen from O'bama's campaign this week. Especially bad since O'bama's lost 10 points in NC in the last 2 weeks and is even in Indiana.

1967 to 1973. Isn't that when he was in Manchuria getting the little thingy implanted in his brain that will be activated when he becomes president?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Is there any way Obama can get Wright to shut up before Jeremiah deep sixes the entire campaign?:
