We were at a party yesterday and Missy Alaska was all the rage for discussion and dissing. Most of the people there will vote Obama but there was one die hard Republican who was just shaking his head and sounded angrier about McSame and this bimbo than he was about the very idea of voting for Obama, which he will not. His take on it is that Republicans will just stay home.

    Good.

However appalled WE may be by McCain melodramatically flying to the Gulf Coast where all he will do is get in the way and take credit if things are done well, it is worth noting that once again the McCain campaign attacked Obama first. The Obama campaign is continuing its history of timidity rather than assertion. McCain is an opportunist and a liar, but he gets his message out there. If we want Obama to win we have to help him do the same - and continue to attack the MSM - by name - when they fail to report fairly.

Did you hear the interview where McCain described her as his soul mate? Bizarre ability Bush and McCain have to instantaneously look into a soul. But a soul mate? Isn't that Cindy? Or his fist wife?

God works in mysterious ways....here we had a right wing nut, stating that he was going to pray that it would rain the day Obama spoke at his convention, which turned out great, with fine weather, and a wonderful speech, and now we have McCain and his star pupil, Palin, having to deal with the hurricane!!! The media instead of covering McCain's first day of the convention, is all about Gustav instead. This is a sign folks, from God, that he is MAD with the rethuglicans, and for the damage they have done to the US, and espcially to Iraq.

Joe, I don't think the mainstream media is gullible. I believe they are protecting their fat salaries from a tax increase. In the past few years everyone who appears on camera and has a contract has seen his/her salary move into the million plus range. These people may be liberal in there social views but they are now celebrity rich and want to keep it that way.

Not only that but there are three or four huge media monopolies to protect. And the FCC could be revived if Obama wins--God forbid, the fairness doctrine might be resurrected. All good reasons for those media monopolies to do everything they can to protect their interests, up to and including promoting a presidential candidate who is showing signs of confusion, possibly dementia, and a vice presidential candidate whose only qualifications are a vagina and an extreme right wing viewpoint.

Nobody that I know of has ever accused McCain of being short on gall.

It's getting so ridiculous that it makes me want to laugh...

CNN just after the announcement, some woman, obviously right wing, exclaimed all breathlessly "well...this just really shows how McCain IS a maverick!"

So we learn McCain was FORBIDDEN to name his ol' buddy Lieberman. Forbidden. The right wing told him no. He obeyed.

Boy...that's a real maverick for you....
    sheesh...

    Good morning!

I'm with some of the other comments here that doubt the main stream media is guillable. They're for sale, they've been bought, and they intend to stay bought until an alternative comes along. Since goodness, truth, and beauty pay about as well as a beginning teacher's job, they're likely to stay on the money side of the fence into the foreseeable future, no matter who gets elected.

Sorry, mcshame is one sick SOB. Heard his interview about palin and he lied he had been watching her for years and when she said that about the bridge to nowhere he knew she was the one he needed on the ticket! The bridge story was a lie. He had only talked to palin a couple of times, once by phone. But according to cindy, palin has foreign relations experience because she is a neighbor of Russia! Are we dumb or what??? That's what worries me, the American people are dumb!
  • Lolis · 1 year ago
part of why the american people are dumb, is the media just lets politicians lie. the media should add a note anytime the mccain campaign lies and basically factcheck. for some reason, they don't think that is their job.

In 2008, challenging a woman candidate for higher office is still done so at one's own risk. Read more. http://www.tagg-lines.com/2008/09/sarah-palin-a...

The only thing that will be different with Gustav will be the way the PR is handled. The Repugs have not changed the system in an effort to improve the ability to deal with disaster, they have learned what they have to suppress in terms of press coverage. No flyovers, no birthday cake, no three thousand mile ice run, but no real improvement in responses to the problems. If you don't want to fix a problem you cover it up.

One additional thing to ponder is if McCain gets elected how will he go about filling his cabinet posts. If he had no say in the choice of his running mate then I can see all the lobbyists and religious zealots put into cabinet positions, Supreme Court, key positions in regards to the Pentagon, CIA, NSA, etc., etc. Forget the last 8 years, McCain has already demonstrated how little thought he puts in to decisions. It is his maverick side. I tried to find the link but he once said. I tend to make instant decisions and if they are wrong I live with them. Well Sir you are fucking around with 300 million lives and the future of this country and you do not have the mental stability for the job. I can truly see McCain going off the deep end and Congress intervening and then Palin installed as President. God help us we have to work just as hard making sure we keep our majority so that the House and Senate can counter anything these crazy bastards dream up.

I looked at her pick differently. It seems McCain getting beat up on his "Maverick" status for an entire week had an impact. Being called a "Yes man" and a "kept man" had to have been the final straw. I figured he panicked and did this on his own to re-establish his McMavericky credentials, like some petulant little child. There is no way the GOP would have had that woman on any list. No matter how corrupt, Republicans are shrewed. Now they are stuck with trying to put lipstick on 2 pigs. One who has clearly lost his marbles.

Laura Bush was on this morning talking about Palin and her experience as a Mayor- and the fact that she has 5 kids, as if giving birth gives you executive experience. LOL Thing is, Laura said she saw Sarah at the Gov convention WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT as was so impressed with her in that condition. If we can prove Sarah lied about the pregnancy, we now have Laura on tape lying for her.

Also, if this rumor is true (and frankly there is no way you can bot be showing at 7 mos, what kind of idiot would go to the lengths of lying to everyone to cover for your unmarried daughter then accept a position that will most definately open up the floodgates into prying eyes? Sarah has fed her daughter to the wolves.
