AMERICAblog: More and more SuperDs for Obama

  • mountainhigh · 1 year ago
    OT

The Clinton campaign has nothing, nothing left. Wolfson is on Hardball is offering the same weird math, race and the all important "this is a very important state (WVA) for us to win". He looks like a fool, must be tough to keep up this rhetoric. He is saying if Obama losses by 15 points (already predicted) it will be an enormous victory! He is also hedging on the question whether Clinton will take this to the floor in August.

Matthews is grilling him like no one ever has and is pointing out Wolfson "metrics" will go any which way he can to make the numbers work for Hillary. Oh Lord, he also says she will continue to fund her own campaign. Wolfson is definitely NOT liking this interview.

Sorry I didnt see your comment.

Are those lyrics from "Copacabana"? Have mercy!

I think Hillary Mellon Scaife will see the writing on the wall before too long. When she sees that NO ONE will give her any more dinero, she will start to realize the gig is up.
  • Patriot · 1 year ago
Lol, uh no, those lyrics don't often come to mind. But, I get the meaning and it's hillarious. What far corner of your mind did that come from, lol?

Hillary would have a great deal to gain by just keeping quiet at this point. Sure, she can still damage the party but, she is also damaging her own future at this point.

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama on Thursday did not rule out selecting rival Hillary Clinton as his vice presidential running mate if he ultimately defeats her in a race in which he has an almost insurmountable lead.

"There's no doubt that she's qualified to be vice president, there's no doubt she's qualified to be president," Obama told NBC News."

What's that sound? Heads exploding at AmericaBlog.....
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
No, Walrus, not really. We supported Hillary last year, before she became a race-baiting republican. If she promises to be a Democrat again, let her be vp. But first she needs to stop being a child.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
ugh. this post from Pam Spaulding really spells out the horrible racist fear many people in this country still harbor.

this needs to be said out loud.

Did anyone watch Tweety interview Wolfson.
There is no way Hillary is quitting. Now she is stubborn and not stupid. What does she know that we dont?

    I'm more in mind of:

It's been a loooooong time coming
It's going to be a looooong time gone.
And it appears to be a lo-ong
    appears to be a lo-ong
    appears to be a lo-ong
    tiiiime
such a long long long time before the dawn.

I haven't been on AmericaBlog in a while because I just felt irritated by all the ugliness concerning Hillary--because of the harshness toward Hillary supporters I have vowed to sit the general out if she doesn't get the nom. I just saw a positive article on CNN concerning Obama that peaked my interest so I thought I would peruse this site and see what is posted. To my dismay an ugly lyric is posted referring to Hillary. You can mock me, call me names, belittle me for supporting her all you want, but as do you, I take the elections very personally and find that this type of mockery is what is keeping me from voting in the general. Trust me, when she tucks her tail and gives in most ill will toward her losing will go away for me and I would vote the dem ticket, except the attitude from these blogs that make me feel like I am not a member of the party and refer to my attitude and decisions as ignorant. This is why I am prob staying home--your derogatory remarks will put the divide between me and Obama.
  • maye · 1 year ago
why not vote on policy instead of personality?
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
JC, I'm sorry you feel that way, but once Hillary lost the election and decided that if she can't win, no one will we win, we vowed to stop her. And we will. I'm sorry if that bothers you, but I am not going to be criticized for being mean when standing up to a bully. She started it, she has the power to finish it. But she most certainly is not going to get away with it. So yeah, things are going to get a lot uglier until she stops.

Exactly WHO is it from the Clinton campaign that is fueling this ongoing nonsense? Is it Hillary herself, Bill, or possibly some adviser trying to get all the billable hours they can while they can?
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
(Dang, I was hoping this was a Manilow-free blog.)

Wash Post has pulled up "white vote" numbers that prove Hillary to be, once again, WRONG.

I would vote Libertarian if I voted on policy.
  • maye · 1 year ago
Well, then, your candidate this year is none other than former Congressman Bob Barr. Go for it.

No problem, Hillary just evokes that gut emotion to scream! :)

When have numbers been important to Hillary? When has truth been important?
  • Patriot · 1 year ago
I wonder if it would finally be over if Hillary performed the Howard Dean scream on TV.
  • DonQ · 1 year ago
jcgraham77 -- this election is far too important to base your voting choice on the tone of comments on a blog. Seriously.

Its something more than just that...its the posts, articles, supporters, attitude that transcends the entire campaign. Blogs for me are really the main media I pay attention to and this one in particular for many many years. The original Gore/Bush election actually got me into this blog and voting/politics in general. I feel like most of the tone is way too harsh and feel like an outcast from a very tight family--the democratic party can't handle thisdivisivness at this point and its not all Hillary. I think this primary has been great for the party until it turned ugly--innuendos are one thing in politics but your having the same hate that the repugs have for the Clintons is a different matter. I know all the ugliness is a byproduct from this particular primary but it has just gotten too ugly for me.
  • DonQ · 1 year ago
jcgraham77 -- I think we're all just fed up with the drama and ready to move on. Bear with us a while longer. We need a candidate -- just one -- whom we can rally around.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
FUNNY! But I was thinking more of the song:
JOHNNY: Guess it's over, call it a day
Sorry that it had to end this way
    No reason to pretend
We knew it had to end some day, this way
DENIECE: Yes, it's over, the kids are gone
What's the use of tryin' to hang on?
    Somewhere we lost the key
So little left for you and me and it's clear to see
BOTH: Too much, too little, too late to lie again with you
Too much, too little, too late to try again with you
We're in the middle of ending something that we knew
    JOHNNY: It's over
    DENIECE: Oh, it was over

Why are the super-delegates coming in in such a trickle? As soon as the Clinton campaign started making this about race, and started pushing Michigan and Florida, they should have just all made their preferences clear, and pushed to end this as quickly as possible.
  • stranded · 1 year ago
Sadly, Rick, this is the best we can hope for if Obama is elected, four years of gutless, spineless, ineffectual leadership from the Democratic party. I've become so disenchanted since the 06 election. I strongly support Obama, and have high hopes for him, but most of the rest of 'em are a sad bunch indeed. They have a great opportunity before them and they're all blowing it.
  • ggm1957 · 1 year ago
You made me think of that song in a whole new light! I agree that the superdelegates should have stopped this bs long ago. Hopefully, we won't end up with a republican in the White House because of it.
