Palin's inexhaustible bullshit causes Canadian fertilizer stocks to plunge...

Potash sell-off drags TSX below 11,000 mark
    By Gregory Thomas, Vancouver Sun
    Published: Thursday, October 02, 2008

VANCOUVER -- Canadian stock markets posted another huge loss Thursday as the hottest stocks during the first half of the year suffered their biggest sell-off ever.

The S&P/TSX Composite index worst percentage drop since Oct. 25, 2000, plunging 813.97 points, or 6.95 per cent, to 10,900.54, trimming the market value of Canada's biggest companies by nearly $100 billion. On Monday, the senior equity benchmark recorded a bigger point-drop, falling 840.93.

Palin says McCain knows how to win a war. But she provides no evidence to back that up. I'm not clear how a pilot graduated almost at the bottom of his class in the military academy, who arguably caused a massive explosion on an aircraft carrier, and who got shot down by the enemy, is the person to win current and future wars.

For president, I'd rather have the pilot who graduated near the top of his class, made it back after a bombing mission, and didn't get shot down,

But we don't have that choice. So I'll vote for the guy who didn't get the privileges of an Admiral's son, who was raised by a single mom in a poor household, but who went to Ivy League schools, graduated from Harvard Law, and was the first black editor of the Harvard Law Review, who taught Constitutional Law and had other diverse experiences would be my choice for President! He's got heart and compassion. He's got brains. He's level headed.

I have checked the several on line polls and local online polls and Biden was voted the winner by 2 to 1 or 3 to l in Denver, St. Louis and San Antonio. This is just tonight, wait until the debate is dissected tomorrow. I believe those numbers are going to rise. When the transcripts are written and reviewed, winks, "folksy talk", mocking tones are not going to translate into anything meaningful. What will come out is that Palin had no substance, just talking points.

I think those who continue to be undecided, this close to the election, want attention. It has nothing to do with convincing them.
How could they not be decided with McCain/Palin clearly running as a Bush third term?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
You know, I just can't figure that out either. How could anyone say they are undecided at this point but then I can't figure out how 27% still support Bush.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
I understand the 27%. They are crazy fundies and wouldn't vote for a Dem for anything.
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
Palin seemed to go along with the expanded power of the Vice President that Dick Cheney has sought.

    C-Span is re-airing the debate.
They have a split screen the entire time.
I just saw the part again where Joe choked up, and her face remained frozen cold through that whole segment.
    She didn't even blink.

No more than 1% of the undecideds have EVER been influenced by a debate. Those morons will make a last minute decision in the booth, on election day, depending on their gut, i.e. how much heartburn they have from dinner. There's almost no of predicting how those numb-nuts will vote.

Oh, and Karol so sorry to hear of the idiot moving coming out soon, almost in your name.

They kidnapped my name, green. shit
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
No doubt. Palin would make a good mayor of a town of 7000, and possibly governor of a state the size of two Bakersfields.

But she's got a lot of work, hard work, before she'll be ready for the national stage.
  • green_libertarian · 1 year ago
Or whatever was the last commercial they saw/heard on the way to the polls.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
I agree. These people live by gut. They lack reasoning.

to understand this type of voter, think of Bones after the mind transfer from Spock.
  • green_libertarian · 1 year ago
If the poll includes undecideds in non-swing states, it's meaningless.

Gosh, here's a rather scientific poll that came up with far different results:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE8VkSqlF40

It's the ol' Frank Luntz Fair and Balanced Focus Group! Best part is Luntz's confident closing quote: "Watch the polling data over the next 48 hours, you're gonna see a shift."

In my case - it simply comes down to who I would rather have in the White House in the event that the President can no longer fill the office. Joe Biden, strong and steady or a Hockey Mom ( as she so often reminds us) who is allowing McCain's people to dictate Alaskan Politics, as in Troopergate.
