AMERICAblog: More on leaked GOP auto bailout memo

  • Kelvin Phillips · 11 months ago
Now will people see that the GOP hates workersand loves the rich in America? I mean what more proof does one needs!?
  • naschkatzehussein · 11 months ago
I misread your name: I thought you were the great Kevin Phillips posting here and got all excited. I would like to hear from him on these bailouts.

This makes me want to watch the movie Matewan again.

The Republican anti-American worker truth slipped out in this Republican memo as if most of us did not know where the Republicans stood on supporting American working people vs their fat cats.
  • naschkatzehussein · 11 months ago
I agree with all of you about the anti-union Republican senators, but doesn't anyone wonder why Mr. Bush is going to cough up the money?
  • firstplate · 11 months ago
Knowing this and everything else about this situation I will never again in my life vote for any republican, nor will I buy any Japanese brand car made in one of our anti union southern states, nor ever again pull a lever in the voting booth for a national ticket with one of these southern hate mongers on it. Add to that any christofacists.

    Everyone missed the real story.

The GOP senators are against any raises for the workers in the south.

Instead of worrying about increasing the wages for their workers in the south, those senators are too concerned about lowering wages for the workers in the north.

All of this is just window dressing for the booboisie, KERFLUFFLE, in other words. Something to churn the blabbering miasma as a lovely distraction from matters of significance.

I can only hope Obama is waiting for the coming catastropy to shit can the colluding feathe weights such as Pelosi, Reid, Hoyer, and the entire sewage of the present government.

Maybe his second round of administration hires...

Would-be Union busting Repub Senators, watch out. "I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night, alive as you or me......." Plenty of Joe Hill's in the making right now, Mary McConnell et al-

The GOP is doing an amazing job of placing their party in an ever diminishing majority. Wow...just Wow. Stupid & nuts.
  • naschkatzehussein · 11 months ago
GM has plenty of assets which are doing well so that they could finance their own bail-out in the automotive sector. Chrysler (Cerebrus) is privately owned and can also bail themselves out rather than by the taxpayers. However, neither the media nor the Democrats have pointed this out. They manipulate our empathy for the workers to pursue this fleecing of the taxpayers to benefit corporations.
  • whomod · 11 months ago
The idiots of the GOP have found their new "welfare queen" and they're mythical $70.00 an hour union workers!

Because heaven knows that it's better to have low paying non union jobs for everyone like at southern Toyota and Honda plants than to actually have well paying jobs with benefits. That way you too can be uniquely American" as Bush said once and have 3 jobs to try to make ends meet! Until you get sick of course and then you can just fucking die quietly. Better that some fat CEO continue to enjoy yearly bonuses off our labor, you see.

The Republicans are promising to destroy health care, too, because they see it as the end to their party. We have a lot of big fights ahead. These guys don't even pretend to put their country first.

What's left of the GOP in Congress is the worst of the party. We managed to get rid of a lot of the moderates. So, what we are left with is a radicalized core that will be even further right than anything we have seen in a generation.

Someone just answered me on HuffPo about the red flags Bush has raised in my mind by coughing up the bailout money. As I've written before Chrysler is privately owned by Cerebrus, and this person informed me that not only that, but Cerebrus owns 51% of GMAC and is looking to buy the other 49%. The left wing blogs are being taken for a ride by the Republican rich who are exploiting our concern for the unions and the workers. The best thing is to let GM and Chrysler go bankrupt and let the government buy them out. They will never produce a product the future demands, but the US government, tax-payer ownership, can.

This is an important leak! I hope we can get it to really make it into the mainstream. Even though many people suspect this is all about union-busting, having it spelled out clearly and broadcast will really make a difference. That is, it will make a difference in the amount of time it takes us to kill, destroy, snuff out these evil neo-cons!

Their strategy seems to be... keep on truckin' as long as we can. They have had plans to make this into a "third-world" nation (I hate that term, but....) and why quit? I mean, really, what choice do they have? The ONLY things they know how to do are steal, cheat, lie, and destroy. And disgusting while they do it.

We need to have massive light shed on these people. Leak some more memos!!! These coakroaches hate the light.

We all need to pass this along until it hits the MSM. It's time the Republicans paid the price of their policies. The UAW has been on the forefront of the battle for civil rights and progressive policy for decades and we have a responsibility to fight for them. And Newsweek had better report on this in their next issue. I'll be watching for it.

Time for the unions to relearn the lesson my father taught me about the Republicans. I recall some hardhats out there for Reagan who apparently forgot about the GOP and unions. Time to remember Solidarity Forever! Corny? Maybe, but it's right on.
  • katiec · 11 months ago
The republicans are out to destroy the unions and, in the process, middle class America. After the diasters of these last eight years, one would
think they would at least try to do something positive for our survival.
The need to put the American people and our country first. is evidently
not present in their lack of integrity minds.
