AMERICAblog: More on Palin's unlawful abuse of power: "Palin violated the state's executive branch ethics act"

  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
    New slang I'd say.

Don't want her near my 'State's Executive Branch'. No sir.

At least the Alaska State Legislature investigates 'abuse of power'. Washington... we're waiting!

Sarah's response - "I haven't read the report but I have read other reports that have crossed my desk. I know that their findings are unAmerican and the work of terrorists like Bill Ayers and Reverand Wright. True mavericks like John McCain and I will not bow to this 'council" that Obama and Biden appointed to ruin my record. To that report I must say "thanks, but no thanks"."

What might the consequences of this be?

Now McCain is accusing Michelle Obama of links to William Ayers. So much for his trying to defuse things.

    http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/200...

In launching this latest, McCain is ditching yet another formerly-claimed principle as he faces the growing likelihood of defeat. In a statement back in June, the McCain campaign said: "Senator McCain agrees with Senator Obama that spouses should not be an issue in this campaign, and he has stated that position frequently."

The attack on Michelle came on a McCain conference call with reporters this afternoon featuring John Murtagh, who has been hitting Obama over the Weather Underground's attack on his family's home back in 1970. Murtagh noted that Dohrn and Michelle Obama had both worked at the firm starting in the late 1980s.

The firm's Chicago office currently employs more than 500 lawyers.

Murtagh didn't even bother alleging that the two even knew each other, instead suggesting that they might have. If so, he said, the Obamas have known the two longer than suspected.

"If it is true" that the two women knew each other, Murtagh said, "the relationship is almost a decade older than Senator Obama has acknowledged. And that can very easily be resolved by Senator Obama, by Mrs. Obama, by Mr. Ayers and by Ms. Dohrn."

"And incidentally, I would emphasize that we've all been focusing on Senator Obama," said Murtagh. "I think we need to speak to his wife."

I know Obama will not go after McCain's wife but Cindy Lou is now fair game for anyone else to drag out into the street. She offered up the same bullshit on Obama yesterday.

These vile, base slugs need to be punted out of the country.

I would call it a win for Palin. The only problem for McCain/Palin is they will not be able to say Palin is trustworthy. That was taken from her with this report. However,...
"The nearly 300-page report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation."

I wouldn't call it a win.. She's extremely naive, and a right wing pentecostal fundie to boot.

Palin broke the law, and it has been proven that she is a liar.

More importantly, McCain's crowds have been calling for the death of Obama, stoked on by his campaign, and the Dow dropped around 2200 points this week.

These are very dark times. VERY dark.

    The McShame/Pain response?

    It's Obama's fault. He's behind it all.

Don't know which is funnier (or more pathetic), this or her self exoneration last night.

No way would I call this a win for Sarah Palin. This builds the narrative that she is a loose cannon, irresponsible and unethical in exercising power for personal motivations. Her record of firing good public servants who don't bend to her will is notorious and well documented. Walt Monegan was a respected public servant. Perhaps even more important is the fact that Sarah Palin has been caught lying to Alaskans and trying to cover up her actions. As for Todd I wouldn't be surprised to see some criminal proceeding to go forward as he violated criminal statues with his accessing and distributing privileged information from a confidential personnel file.

    So..... This surprises you?

wow...a rethuglican violate an ethics statute? say it ain't so, Joe...
just what we need in the veeps office, a cheney in lipstick
the good thing is that I don't think that Palin knows much about the constitution so she won't know how to violate it the same way that Cheney has

Her campaign (and I say 'her' because she would most likely end up as prez) is going down in blue flames, and if the AK state legislature has anything to say about it, she just might ose her governorship a few years early. How ya like THEM apples, Saaaaarah?
  • ndtovent · 1 year ago
Oops... mean't to type 'might lose'

I'd bet my last nickel that the Republicans who voted to release that report demanded that it be done late on a Friday evening as a pre-condition.

I hope the cable news networks have Troopergate logos and Troopergate theme music. You'd think the media would love a really juicy Sarah Palin story.
