AMERICAblog: More on the "new" John McCain. One hint: He's "a parody of the worst sort of political flim-flam artist"

I live in the south. I'm sitting here at an outdoor market I work at on weekends. Sarah Palin will be close by here this weekend, at the Villages (grrr). Anyway, I can't tell you how many people are walking by my booth, stating they will vote for McCain. How stupid are people? Don't they read? Don't they understand what is happening??????

If Bush was a DEMOCRAT and they ran things for the past 8 years, I would be voting OUT of my party!!! Yet, people know that Bush and McCain are one and the same person(s) voting the same on issues. Why would ANYONE vote for a Republican after what has transpired for the past two presidential terms?

    OT -

US taxpayers should not mind the bailout in part is for foreign banks.

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13690...

An uynleceted Henry Paulson said that coverage of foreign-based banks is "a distinction without a difference to the American people."

This should play well with the NASCAR crowd.

    Give me a fucking break!

And on the record, obscenities included. Broderella would faint, but the rest of the country would cheer.

Yes, There Are Deeply Angry Democratic Members of Congress
    by: Matt Stoller

This email is from a lawmaker and it should give you a flavor for what's going on right now in Congress.

E-mailing jaw-boning (obscenity) is easy even for a feckless coward.

Let us wait and see how many members of Congress (dem and repub) vote to give a blank check to unelected folks for the $700,000,000,000 bailout, wait, correction, for the bailiout that will cost no less than $700,000,000,000.

McCain does remind me of an old-fashioned, traveling, snake oil salesman:

    "My friends . . . "

After Congess was "duped" in going into the Iraq war, you would think they would be a bit more cautious in listening to the bullshit peedled by the administration.

Today' imminent financial meltdown with unspeakable consequences sounds strikingly familar to yesterday's Iraq prompted mushroon cloud.

Put the brakes on now! Decide what to do, if anything, with a new Congress and new President.

What we are about to do is reload the assault weapon and hand it back to the deranged criminal that just murdered the futures of most Americans. I have long felt that most Americans weren't capable of simple logic, today's events confirm that dismal opinion.

Joe Klein is the biggest, and most influential, peddler of the myth of the pre-2008 "good" McCain and the 2008 "bad" McCain. I'll reiterate: McCain has ALWAYS been, and ALWAYS will be, a major flaming asshole. Exhibit A: his encounter with Dolores Alfond, 16 years ago, I repeat 16 years ago, in which he bring shame upon the institution of the Senate. Youtube: "McCain Losing His Cool." 9 minutes.

So the rich and the banks get their debt payed off. I get to keep mine. Seems fair, doesn't it?

McCain needs to go to his island, put a hammock between two palm trees lay there and let Cindy sit and comb his hair, something she has said she loves to do. He should not attempt to be president, which he is unable to do because of his illnesses and his age. I honestly believe sometimes that he is trying to lose. Why else would he have picked Palin who is so flawed in so many ways.

There never was an 'old' McCain. He has always been this way:

    http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1989-11-29/news/...

This 1989 article slams the 'myth' that McCain in the past was reluctant to talk about his POW days. He has always used it for political gain. He ratted out everybody to 'save' his political career. Him and Greenspan learned nothing from the S&L failure and bail out.

The fact that they learned nothing from this takes away any relevance they have on the current crisis. They saw it happen before and did nothing to stop a major market failure. Nothing. they kept pushing deregulation even after Keating. mind boggling.

How can he be employed as a "President" when he is a disabled and service-connected veteran? He receives disability for being 100% disabled from the VA. Supposedly, has all kinds of problems related to being in a POW Camp, including PTSD. Why would folks want a president or why would he be ALLOWED to serve as President if he has a mental illness such as PTSD and yes, it is in the DSM IV listed as a mental illness. I am sure he takes medication for that among other things. I wonder how many other kinds of meds he is on?
