AMERICAblog: More racist McCain supporters at rally in Denver

  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Repubs are racists.

    Simple as that.
  • lost_nacf_gop · 1 year ago
But they live. And, presumably they vote. I just hope there aren't that d*$n many of 'em.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
And kids there...wow, isn't that child abuse?

These videos make me mad of course, but they also make me sad...sad for our country. I can only hope and pray that these hate filled bigots are the minority....

It makes me proud that today I VOTED EARLY and saw dozens of Obama supporters standing in line with me.
  • psipher · 1 year ago
Someone should ask these yahoos to define what a communist or socialist is?
Chances are they don't know....it's just terms they've learn to repeat.
  • tuesdaykat · 1 year ago
EXACTLY. Remember two weeks ago when the rope-line comments were "terrorist, terrorist, terrorist?" And now that their thought masters have (sorta kinda) dropped that hot potato for the new mantra of "commie socialist pinko socialist" that's what you now hear parroted over and over. These are people who cannot think for themselves.

Fellow Coloradans and Denverites, don't get discouraged. These folks are everywhere in America, but they're outnumbered. Let's show them up. Be there for the rally on Sunday in Civic Center Park!
  • GeeBee · 1 year ago
I live in Denver and am so embarrassed. Who are these "people"?
  • leap1 · 1 year ago
Don't be- they live everywhere. I live in Dem Blue Baltimore and they're on my block.
  • WxDano · 1 year ago
I live in Denver area as well. Certainly there are Christianists here who use 'socialist' as code, but wow.

I guess they are getting scared of the brave new world they'll have to endure, eh?

    Best,

    D
  • GeeBee · 1 year ago
I only hope and pray that they live in the new world peacefully.

See you all Sunday at the Civic Center.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
    Nice people, bless their hearts.
  • Jim_W · 1 year ago
Is there any chance all of these people will just leave the country once Barack wins? They are ugly and small minded.
  • caerbannog · 1 year ago
    But who'd take them?
  • Gridlock · 1 year ago
thats what happens when you cede control of your party to the freaks for short term tactical political advantage; they become the batshit crazy secret in the attic that eventually gets loose.
  • Cpeterka · 1 year ago
I really like the guy in the RED Commie Beret !!
Looks kinda Chinese to me, or maybe he just orders out for Chinese?

    Cool Hat, Dude !!
  • HelenaMontana · 1 year ago
Thanks for this--I was thinking of going to Denver on vacation but this changed my mind in a hurry. Those people are creepy and scary. I'll go to Hawaii instead.
  • GeeBee · 1 year ago
Not all of us fortunately....I'm thinking they must be importing these nutscases for these rallies.
  • caerbannog · 1 year ago
    Denver's fine.

When I went there a couple of years ago (to visit relatives), I saw plenty of Bush-bashing bumper-stickers. Some of the suburbs are a bit wingnutty, but Denver itself (as well as Boulder) is a reasonably progressive place.
  • boloboffin · 1 year ago
OMG, must see video -- remember the Wassup commercial for Budweiser? Well, they got the exact same actors to reprise their roles ---
    First, the original commercial:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrYfNnreK88

    And today's (NOT endorsing Budweiser):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq8Uc5BFogE

    BRILLIANT!
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Thanks for the links. I'm glad I watched the original first, you have to do that. It's AWESOME!!
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
I moved to Central Oregon from Southern California some years ago (huge mistake) and discovered the huge numbers of these ignorant idiots that we share our country with. They have refused to let any knowledge permeate their lives, instead enjoying the adrenalin high that Rush and Faux News engender in them. Try canvassing for a Dem, and you will meet several of these door-slamming jerks. You cannot argue with them--you are a Satanist, ignorant, a dupe, a commie or now a socialist.. I don't know if they will crawl back back into their Kool-Aid caves after the election. They are often fringe dwellers, living on the edge of society (which scares me to death for Obama's safety)--but Sarah Pallin shows how they also have moved into powerful places.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
Lots of Mormons in Bend, aren't there?

    just sayin'...
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
And Fundies. And the Catholic bishop Vasa is a real hardliner. But we will prevail.
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
Yes, there are lots of Mormons! But it's not as predictable as one might expect--besides those who voted for Bush because the church told them too and because he seemed so nice (heard that directly from acquaintances in 2004, in addition to the WMDs in Iraq story that they so fervently believed)--at a Dem picnic last year, most in the small group with me, under a tent taking tickets, were Mormons by birth! They had seen the light, or needed a divorce and received an ouster from the church at the same time, etc. One lady was the umpteenth grand daughter of the umpteenth wife of one of those old polygamists! The stories were better than anything on Big Love! I guess we are just across the desert from Utah--1st stop on the way OUT?!
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I live in Bend too, and I say Obama is going to take Deschutes County. Our demographics have changed. Maybe that's why you have run into so much hate--because they know they are becoming the minority. I hope you will feel more encouraged on the night of November 4.
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
The city of Bend is now more Democratic than Republican! Quite a change from 1999 when I moved here and no one admitted to being a Dem, and 2004, when people came in the headquarters with gleeful faces saying "Another Democrat! I thought I was the only one!" But the angry ex-mill workers, etc., angry young men raised by those angry men, and women who brag to me in phone canvassing that they are not voting at all (but their husbands are voting for McCain--as though I'll be impressed with her ignorance) still exist. The ones who yell from their pick-ups the slogans of hate and ignorance....slam doors in our faces, hang up the phones when we identify ourselves....

I am wondering if those targeted by Karl Rove (per his Wall Street Journal interview where he said 3 'ex-urbs' in the nation, such as Deschutes County and another in PA, and elsewhere, were theirs by virtue of the churches doing the campaigning for them) in the last election will sit this one out. Surely they have noticed they were lied to? Used? They probably won't veer to the Dems much because of the ani-abortion issue, but how can they support the Repugs again?
  • mamazboy · 1 year ago
Brilliant comment, cyinbend! Love "Kool-Aid caves" - you rock!
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
good lord...that last guy with the foul mouth holding a baby - sick.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Just as an aside, to all you people who are low on the totem pole of comprehensive thought process: I did not hear a single racist comment on the entire video. Did I miss something?
  • Gridlock · 1 year ago
    Yes, a high school education.
  • Forty2 · 1 year ago
Who the fuck are these ignant mouth-breather troglodytes? They aren't real Americans! (tm)
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
I really really wish I had all of their addresses, I would sign them up for lifetime subscriptions to porn and sex toy magazines, in clear packaging.
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
Calling Obama a monkey is not racist? Good Lord you need to be enlightened! That is offensive racism I remember from 50 years ago.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I saw a little kid acting like a monkey. Is that what bothers you?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    You may have a point.

You act like a monkey pretty much every night here.
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
"Bothers me"? It is classic racism from the 50s and 60s at least. African Americans were referred to as monkeys....I can remember men saying that. I was a small child then, so I don't remember much more. I think Martin Luther King's intelligence stopped that slur---only for parents and grand parents to revive it 40 years later teaching their children and playing with their grand children's toys at McCain rallies....really pitiful and ugly. It should bother you.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i hate it when you play dumb, busboy.
    you are playing, right?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    You're good, tls. .....
  • MyVoice · 1 year ago
Ask anyone of that group if they get the Earned Income Credit on their taxes, if they do, then tell them they support socialism!
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
Then they accuse Obama supporters as "elite" because they can read, write and count. I assume every one of these people will refuse to apply for Social Security and Medicare when they retire because its "socialism."
  • Roxie_Beaver · 1 year ago
Yeah, and John McCain is already cashing his Social Security checks! Socialist!
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    What "MyVoice" said..
  • leap1 · 1 year ago
Watching those young kids saying those things they learned from their parents was chilling.
  • catdance · 1 year ago
Those blonde monkey brats are just poster children for inbreeding.
  • Elbaba · 1 year ago
wow... I'm speechless. My brain hurts from watching so much stupidity. That tanoxeric lady towards the end repeating "communist" over and over again was too much... I stopped watching it then. I'm going to send this to all my relatives who might vote republican and ask them if this is what they want to be associated with.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
.....That's what crystal meth does to your brain.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
The Republicans are pure filth. How about the Secretary of State of Ohio getting death threats and having her computer hacked? Well, the countdown starts tomorrow with 10 days to go until the election, and expect it to get worse every day because they know that they are going to lose.
  • pita1963 · 1 year ago
I am now, officially saddened, ashamed , and embarrassed to be from Colorado .... to the rest of the world, on behalf of all sane people in Colorado, I apologize.

    Robb
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Sadly, there are people like this in every corner of the country. We are seeing what happens when there is an entire class of people that are not educated. That my friends is the Faux news demographic in a nutshell.
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
I agree wholeheartedly. And it's Rush's fans--everything they know they learned from him. It's why Rush and those Faux News jerks can just lie so obviously--no one with critical intelligence or a real education would ever believe that silliness. But to these people, it's God's truth. And the Repugs play to them--esp Palin.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
Don't feel badly. How would you like to be from Minnesota where the crazy McCain rally lady made her appearance?
  • NoMoreFour · 1 year ago
I feel the same Robb. I love Colorado and it's people and as a person of color...I cannot tell you how disturbing this is to me. The Republican party, including Palin (obviously in charge of the canpaign) and McCain should be ashamed of allowing this kind of hateful and racist behavior. They can publicly and loudly repudiate but they refuse. Rush, Rove, Hannity, Blakeman, Buchmann, Pfotenauer, and all of those with a voice in the media are stokers of these flames...I hope we all get through on the other side.
  • pita1963 · 1 year ago
We'll get through it, and hopefully come out the better for it on Nov 5th. It just shocks me that people are still that ignorant and willing to pass that on to the younger generation. It makes me want to cry and scream at the same time ....

    Robb
  • NoMoreFour · 1 year ago
Thanks Robb. Yes, I hope we can begin to heal after the 5th. And, yes...I have facilitated between screaming and crying...I will say a special prayer for the little girl and keep the faith regarding the next few days.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
Such good, loving Christians those people are.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
The worst thing seems to be...they have kids to whom they're teaching outright hatred and seemingly little else (I've known people like this). Can you imagine how their kids would treat Obama's little girls?

Maybe Palin should invite them all to live in Alaska, let them be her problem since she seems to inflame them. They would fit right in, since Alaska has the lowest rate of high school grads in the US. No wonder it took Palin 6 yrs to get a 4 yr degree...and her father was a coach who also "taught" science but produced a daughter who believes in creationism--what's wrong with that picture? Incompetence and educational neglect must be a family trait...that, and introducing your children to pentecostal ignorance.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Yes, that was the first thing I noticed. They are raising racist, ignorant kids that will never step foot in a college. It's very sad indeed.
  • Nylund · 1 year ago
The little girl doing the monkey dance in the beginning was just so frightening and sad. Best case scenario is she learns the error of her ways as she grows older, only then to face the realization that her parents are terrible people.
  • CobaltBlue · 1 year ago
Are there any mccain-palin supporters who are NOT racist and religious fanatics????

Are there any mccain-palin supporters who simply disagree with Obama on legitimate issues, like healthcare, the environment, the economy, etc.??? Frankly I don’t see that – ALL I see is hate, fear, ignorance and extreme intolerance.

It’s really very sad. And it’s gotten to the point that if I see a mccain lawn sign or a mccain car sticker, the FIRST thing that comes to mind is that these people are racist, intolerant, christian extremists neanderthals.

What a terrible legacy mccain has shaped for himself.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I don't feel sorry for him because he's proud of his supporters. He said so.
  • anokie · 1 year ago
You know I'm kinda glad this is coming out and being viewed....let us know who this fringe element is....if this is what the Republican Party wants to be about so beit......but that does not mean we should let this element grow. We fight this all the way to let them know that America stands for unity and diveristy......if they don't like leave.
  • Desert_Hussein_Rat · 1 year ago
Agreed. It's good to let the country see what happens when you turn over the rock these cretins have been hiding under.
  • Desert_Hussein_Rat · 1 year ago
    11 Days.

Pardon my language, but it's going to be enjoyable to watch these idiots have to eat the spectacular shit sandwich that Obama's election would represent.
  • clytemnestra · 1 year ago
No because their world view will be so challenged that they may become violent.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Gee, I felt like I was in my grocery store...
Aside from the barely supressed rage, I noted lots of heavy drinkers, bad hair, beards, sweats and hats.
  • clytemnestra · 1 year ago
Well, at least I can say that there's no one in the video I recognized. Being from Denver, I thought there might be a chance, no matter how small
  • here4tehbeer · 1 year ago
If that had been a "coherent thought" drinking game we all be stone sober.

"Real America". Let them show you it.
  • catdance · 1 year ago
    John McCain owns this.
  • cab02149 · 1 year ago
Don't they make you proud that you are an American citizen?
  • skwcw2001 · 1 year ago
these are the same people that have had power and control over millions of gay people's lives, and now all of a sudden people are saying gee they are bigots. These people enjoy power and control show some clips of the people voting against gay marriage, this reminds me a bit of how reverend fred phelps was ignored while he just bashed the gays but oh lordy the media was all over him when he went for the soldiers
  • cole3244 · 1 year ago
if it wasn't for affirmative action(( better known as the good ole boys network) where would these neanderthals get their jobs, its always the dregs of society that are attacking others as being unamerican and not worthy of respect. the gop doesn't think minorities should get to vote, this poor example of humanity is what shouldn't be allowed to vote.
  • Wolfsinger · 1 year ago
Folks...What we got here is a massive case of crowd crazy stoked with a heapin helpin of fear & hate served up Hell hot and smokin by DOBSON, MUTHEE, HAGGEE, HAGGARD, ROBERTSON and the ghosts of generations previous pious pompadours BAKKER, FALWELL, ROBERTS, GEOGHAN, SHANLEY, LAW and lest we forget SWAGGART & TILTON !

Christians. Every one. Right wing extremist Christian hypocrites on Earth. All brought to you directly from that swingin fire and brimstone paradise known as Satan's southern home. Rest assured, The BLESSED SARAH is their first round draft pick.

Jay Leno is really relieved that he won’t have any problems finding idiots to fill his “Jay Walking” skit!
  • FatRat · 1 year ago
That is a bit unfair. The Jay Walking contestants aren't hateful bigots. They are just a tad educationally challenged. But I understand your Jay Walking point.

I've read that the Republicans are trying to roll back the clock to the 1950s. Looking at that video, it feels more like the 1930s. I expect the McCains supporters to be wearing hoods and white sheets. And the Pinkertons (pre-Blackwater) will be marching right beside them.
  • AmericanWoman · 1 year ago
The sad thing about these people is that they don't even realize how ignorant they are. Hate is always ignorant. The repubs must be so proud to see what they have wrought over the years.
  • sherifffruitfly · 1 year ago
I guess that'll about do it for the "it's just a few bad apples" theory.
  • Tinuviel · 1 year ago
The little girl acting like a monkey at the beginning of the tape makes me very sad. That child is being "carefully taught" to judge and hate. These are the same people that threatened the Dixie Chicks for making a simple statement about Bush. The words to "Not Ready to Make Nice"come to mind:
"It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger"
What a sad commentary on the Republican voter.
  • saddness4 · 1 year ago
This is just another example of what I have seen during this campaign that I find so discouraging. Not only does this show that these mislead and sick Americans have no real regard for themselves but that they are so willing to have a "whipping boy" to blame all their worries and problems on. If America is so great on the world stage then shouldn't these people want to strive to be ethical to fellow beings, wouldn't that help their white power argument?
And what does this do for America's image around the world? If America continues with this extremist thought that will spread when any change ( that may be really good) appears then America will fail, and that will so sad for all the moderate, rational and ethical Americans.
  • Paul · 7 months ago
Seems like there is just as much intolerance in the comments as in the views of the people in the video. Interesting...
