AMERICAblog: More video of Palin being booed at hockey game

  • SgtHudson · 1 year ago
The Philly fans are actually yelling "Booo-urns..."
Oh, wait, that was a Simpson's episode.
Using her young daughter as a human shield is typical Republican cowardice...
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    LOL
  • ColoradoDem · 1 year ago
    Was that "boooo", or "Boooo...urns!"?
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
It won't be enough until she bursts into tears live on TV, film at 11.
  • scytherius · 1 year ago
Only those terrorist crowds that follow her around like Sarah the Stupid. Everyone else goes from dismissing her as stupid to loathing her.
  • dad · 1 year ago
    doggonit.
  • David_in_Toronto · 1 year ago
I'm definitely not disputing that she was booed, but the media won't report this unless they have eyewitness accounts. The audio on handheld cameras distorts the sound pretty easily. I think it's worth contacting media if you were at the game.
  • benb · 1 year ago
Big mistake for the McCain campaign. There's no way they can fill a hockey stadium full of supporters for a photo op and there's no way a fan is going to be pleased to pay for a game and have to participate in a campaign commercial.

McCain should have, at the very least, paid for the beer.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
You hAVE TO have money to go to a hockey game...thus more highly educated people.
  • pointyhatpalin · 1 year ago
    Halloween costume for 2008

White sheet + pointy hat + #1 Hockey Mom written on sheet and hat
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
Clearly the booing was for the ghosts of Halloween, not Palin. LOL
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
if that's not clear enough for you, here:

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
In the second vid there are two people that stand and applaud. Boy, do they look isolated.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
I thought that was funny too...there were like two or three people scattered around that stood up and clapped. I bet it was uncomfortable when they had to sit back down and watch the rest of the game!
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
Yeah, but I'm glad they felt able to do it. Imagine two people applauding Obama in a crowd of batshit crazy Palinistas. They would not be safe.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    Good point!
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
I didn't hear the booing in the first video posted, but it was deafening on this one.
The American voters do NOT want this woman and her interloping husband anywhere near the White House.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Yeah, the first video (posted last night) was like the 'official' video where the audio was so high it was hard to tell. Much easier to hear in these which were from the perspective of the audience. I love it!

Wish that would be a story on all the newscasts, even if as a small sound bite, sorta like "and now, check out this video from last night, where Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her two children were booed as they came out at the beginning of last night's Philadelphia Flyers Hockey game....No comment from the 'ultimate hockey mom' about the booing..."
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Palin says, 'what booing? I didn't hear any booing."
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    You betcha...
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Palin says, "and also, what I heard was the thunder of Jesus' disapproval of the audience"...
  • Gary SF · 1 year ago
I thought that they were yelling "Bruce." :-)
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
    lol

Fun Fact! Here's the number of times the word "also" was used during the vice-presidential debate:
    By moderator Gwen Ifill: 2
    By Joe Biden: 3
    By Sarah Palin: 47

  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I think Sarah Palin said "such as" 47 times as well. Just like little Miss South Carolina.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I'm watching Woff Blitz and his panel on CNN.
They played 3 different clips and mentioned one other instance of the hateful things said at McCain Palin rallys the last 2 days...
then you hear the panelist say,,,,,"'it's on both sides"
UMMMMMM..then why didn't you play the clips of where you heard them from the Obama side?
    CAUSE THERE Aren;'t ANY !!!

Why are these reporters saying it''s from both sides that the crowds are saying isitful things....then they don't have any evedience?
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Gotta keep it fair and balanced, and if that means lying, Oh, well.
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
It kills me they don't remember that sometimes there are not two sides to the truth. Sometimes the truth is just the truth.

    Well put.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
Wolf Blitzer is still on CNN? Fox News is calling.....

My eyes hurt watching that closet wingnut!
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
Wolf Blitzer is to journalism what Sarah Palin is to Russian diplomacy.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
Hilarious! And true! He's an idiot. I love when Cafferty called him out when Wolfie tried to defend Palin's idiot answers.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
CNN gets a little ridiculous with their "we don't take sides but let you decide" mantra. If they really want to inform us and let us decide, why don't they invite non-political experts with differing opinions on. Listening to the talking points of both sides is mind-numbing, boring, predictable and a waste of time.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
That's what Caribou Barbie gets for calling the next president, Barak Obama, a terrorist.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
When Palin calls Obama a moose, that's when the Secret Service needs to take action! LOL
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
Yeah, she likes to blow away moose limbs.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Given her obvious lack of any discernable skills or intellect, I'd say her success can be attributed to her panache for blowing republicans.
  • JMarra · 1 year ago
Or maybe she sent the McCain campaign a third-party email to the effect that "Sarah may be vicious and stupid, but she will [perform oral sex] 'til your eyes bug out."

    imdb "to die for"
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
Hey, didn't Israel have a PM called Barak? Obama must be a Jew!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I wonder what the Palin ralliy is going to be like today? It's in Souther Eastern Ohio right next to West Virginia.
Open air grounds used for Country Music Concerts.
Hope there are videos of people going inot the rally.

Ms. Palin is a piece of work... according to this, she knew full-well that she'd get booed, and to counter that purposefully dressed Piper in a Flyer's jersey to act as her human shield..

Palin had hoped her daughter would shield her from the boos. Fox reports, "The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, 'How dare they boo Piper!'"
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    wow. what a mother.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Yeah, a pit bull with lipstick. God can you imagine growing up in that household? Jeeesh...
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
I doubt many in that Palin family can remember much of anything. Recent pictures were posted on the internets showing that home-life was essentially an open bar. A liquor bar was openly available on the kitchen cabinet and a pre-pregnant underage Bristol was posing for pictures with future sperm donor Levi while holding a 1.75 ltr. bottle of Captain Morgan's rum.
Just think, if Bristol had only used a condom instead of Captain Morgan's rum she might not be all knocked up and a disgrace to traditional American family values.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
Maybe she should have just said no.
  • RainbowPhoenix · 1 year ago
How often has she turned down a photo op that didn't require her to answer questions?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
oh fer crap's sake...they're all over John Lewis for calling out the hateful rhetoric and what's Rick Davis's excuse??? you guessed it McCain was a POW! during all that 1960's turmoil and racial unrest so he couldn't be whippin it up now...
    crock. of. shit.

Last night around 9:30pm I did a Google news search on "Palin booed Flyers" and I saw the many headlines that were written right after it happened. At the time, every single headline sans one said that Palin was 'booed'. Do you know who was the lone news source to call it a 'Mixed Reaction' in their headline... FOXNews ("Palin Drops Puck At Flyer's Game Receives Mixed Reaction").
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
The demonization of Philadelphia will begin in 5....4.....3....2...

It's my guess that the concession stands weren't opened until after Sarah left the building. Otherwise she would have gotten the customary Philly Beer Bath.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
I don't know why they try to mix politics and sports. Frankly, sports fans aren't the best behaved (too much beer and testosterone). What did the team expect? It's not necessary to boo someone who's been invited to throw out the puck, or the baseball or whatever. We all need to be more respectful of each other.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
I agree...they would've booed any pol going out there during election season. Serves her right.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
My father was a major league baseball player. Think about it. The owners and athletes are the ones who benefit MOST from Republicans who cut the upper 1 - 5% of money earner's taxes while squeezing the rest of us. It is theIr chance to try to mix politics and sports and try to get the average disconnected sports fan to vote for more tax cuts for them. Its called opportunism. It used to work before Republicans destroyed our economy. Now, not so much. People got their 401(k)s mailed to them, and are mad as hell at the Republicans. GOOD!
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
    Cowboy! Are you Tim McGraw?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
No! Tim McGraw, and his wife, Faith, are very good people, though. They are progressive Democrats. My late father, Jim Beauchamp, played baseball with Tim McGraw's dad, Tug McGraw. My name is: Tim Beauchamp

What really stinks is that the REAL hockey mom who was supposed to be honored, had her moment ruined by a shameless political stunt.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
By the Republican owner of the team...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I don't think so. The people there at the event honored the "Ultimate Hockey Mom" with a HUGE ROUND of cheers and clapping! I would feel GREAT, if I were her, that she was so honored by the crowd that immediately showed just the opposite round of emotion to Palin. In fact, she knows the crowd LOVED HER and HATED PALIN!!! Again, she was probably honored.

"Ultimate Hockey Mom" - crowd screams and cheers, "HOORAY! Go Hockey Mom!"

"Now, welcome Sarah Palin..." crowd jeers and boos like crazy!
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
    You reap what you sow.

    Palin should know this.

Oh, and Sarah, it is a sin to bear false witness.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
yes, that's one of the Ten Commandments - that bearing false witness thing-
Sister Sarah breaks that one on a routine basis.
but i'm sure she repents every night before bed and God grants her a fresh start to lie again tomorrow.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
Yeah, that makes it clear the boos were overwhelming. Do you think Sarah Palin is mad at the woman who won the "Ultimate Hockey Mom" contest. I mean, doesn't Palin think that she is the ultimate Hockey Mom?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
The hockey mom, who won the contest, got a huge round of applause and cheers which made it that much more OBVIOUS that Sarah Palin was BOOED like crazy! Hillarious.
  • RossTory · 1 year ago
    Is it just me....?
I've watched about 5 versions of this event and I can't hear the announcer mention Palin by name. He calls here "America's most famous hockey mom", but that's it. Why not mention her name? Were they trying to minimze her as much as possible so they could avoid the emabarrassing (and overwhelming) boos?
  • David_in_Toronto · 1 year ago
I really do credit Palin with introducing race into the campaign in such an ugly way. McCain, for all his faults is not a racist. He's an asshole to absolutely everybody.
  • joshmo · 1 year ago
You see what they were saying was... (boooooobama is a terrorist" but the mic's just didnt pick the last part up. Go sara!! Yeah right.
  • Rony · 1 year ago
Did you clarify how many BHO's spinners were among these booers?
It is understandable why it is being done by BHO's campaign - he wants people to forget his not very smart remark he made in CA a couple mo's ago - about bitter Middle America and guns - rings a bell?
Also, a frendly reminder: 4 years ago Kerry John Kerry was leading Bush by 17 points in Pennsylvania till the day of the election. Finally ended carrying the state by 2 points. The margin was 142,000 votes out of which he got 400,000 in Philadelphia county. Which means he lost the rest of the state by 260,000 when he was shown leading 17 points all over. BO leads McCain today by 13.8
  • EatWildFish · 1 year ago
What kind of hockey mom goes on the ice without a team jersey?! And Palin held the hockey puck like it was poo. ...
Worst slap shot of all, Voodoo Veep Wannabe didn't even stay to watch some of the game.
    McBooooooo!!
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Most of the "cheers" for Palin were recorded cheers and music they played to drown out the huge crowd's boos. Note how they never show footage of the crowd itself. They don't want you to see the thousands of thumbs down in the crowd. And this was a mostly white audience of hockey fans. If ANYONE in PA should be pro-Palin it should be them.
