    Some of the right-wing religious fanatics in the Republican Party would love to legislate their extremism and enforce it on the American people. When you analyze their statements and beliefs there is very little difference between christianists and islamists. Our Republican administration has no problem with "faith-based" human rights violations in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

    "Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid." Don't you realize that this statement could have come from James Dobson or Pat Robertson? How many christianist gaybashers have made this same comment?

    Exactly. Taligangelicals are a danger to our country. Also, we must continue to remember those same Taligangelicals, like Sarah Palin, always try to legislate morality like "traditional marriage" laws while not enforcing that same kind of behavior within their own family. We have countless examples like Senators Larry Craig and David Vitter with their gay and prostitute diaper sex outside marriage, and Senator McCain with his polygamy and leaving his crippled first wife for the more glamorous and rich Cindy. Democrats have their issues, as well, but at least Democrats don't try to LEGISLATE morality and demand others adhere to a strict religious code they aren't capable of living themselves!!!

    Fire bombing clinics & murdering doctors are "traditional" American options in dealing with "pro-choice" issues. Is it all that different from Pakistan?

    We have enough on our plate, right now, with the hugely important election and putting our "COUNTRY FIRST" by defeating McCain/Palin! If these THREE boobs are elected then we are doomed.

    Regarding the two new hurricanes heading toward our coasts. I sincerely hope Republicans put COUNTRY FIRST and do not continue to party like they did through Gustav. There was a great expose, from ABC, about all the partying Republicans are doing - drinking and carousing, along with heavy duty lobbying with Republican congressmen that took place all during Gustav. I'm just disgusted Republicans aren't putting COUNTRY FIRST! I think McCain and the rest of them should just lay low until all the hurricanes have past. If they have to skip the convention entirely this time around then SO BE IT! God, obviously, is just SICK TO DEATH of them and would rather they put COUNTRY FIRST and just SHUT UP and GO HOME!

    Those young women are lucky to be dead.

    This may sound harsh... but isn't a swift death preferable to the living hell of being female in that village? Where the corruption extends throughout the government and there is no help and no safety? If you are beaten or raped and made pregnant by a forced husband who regards you as property for his use, you can spend decades suffering.

    Women are not chattel.
