AMERICAblog: Murkowski to Palin: Meeeow!

  • SamR · 12 months ago
"I don't think the way to the Presidency is a short stop in the United States Senate." Hmmm. If only there were a recent presidential election to see if this argument holds water (although 2 years would be especially short).
  • Naked Bunny with a Whip · 12 months ago
As we saw in the last election, it certainly won't *help* Palin claim that she has experience. Or at least, it sure didn't help Obama. No doubt the Republican double standard will kick in promptly, though.
  • sukabi1 · 12 months ago
I'm pretty sure a legacy of competency had something to do with that "short stay" leading to the presidency... which would NOT be the case for Ms. Palin.... think "Mean Jean" or Katherine Harris as comparable cases to Ms. Palin...

Run, Sarah. run. The sooner she crashes and burns, the better.
  • RevDrBillyBob · 12 months ago
YIKES. Aren't they BOTH right-wing morons and religious whackos ? It would a fun race to watch. What a screwy state, that the voters there would find that these two idiots provide competent representation.

    Meeow....Meeow...

    Bears go gurrr..., not woof.

The Litter Box is getting mighty crowded.
  • Bush_Bites · 12 months ago
I read that Moosehead hasn't been in the State Capitol since August.
  • sukabi1 · 12 months ago
This could get rather interesting.... there seems to be an appetite by some sane Alaskans to mount an impeachment effort against Palin... and it might just get some interesting back door support if it looks like Sarah's moving to dislodge one of the "heirs" to Alaskan power...
  • Bush_Bites · 12 months ago
Seems like somebody has to make an issue of all her screwups, sparse attendance record, shady personal expenses and borderline illegal hiring activities as Governor.

I mean, she's been an incredibly corrupt and inattentive Governor.

The Dems didn't bother because they didn't want to be fighting the bottom of the ticket, but I don't think her Repub rivals with hesitate.
  • henrythefifth · 12 months ago
Yeah Sarah, keep your hands off that Senate seat that Murkowski inherited by divine right from her father.
  • smoke · 12 months ago
Palin and Bob Corker under the same roof?

    Damn
  • Older_Wiser · 12 months ago
Murkowski should be careful. She has her own ethics problems, related to Ted Stevens' developer friend who sold her land below market value which she finally "straightened out" when caught redhanded. Palin could easily use the "corruption" theme she used against Lisa's father--surely that is a brick in Lisa's craw as well.

On the other hand, Lisa has degrees in economics and law (so isn't an entirely empty suit like Palin), is considered a moderate, and is well liked in AK (even though her own father appointed her). Doesn't make me like her any better, though.

Wow, AK politics is interestingly corrupt...
  • Bush_Bites · 12 months ago
Yeah, I had no idea all this sleaze was going on up there.
  • Older_Wiser · 12 months ago
The "boys" in AK really would like to see these 2 in a mud fight--naked, of course. As one young inbred gawky 20 something in GA said of the Aryan Idiot: "She's hot!" MILF continues.

Why won't Sarah just go away????
  • houstonray · 12 months ago
With ya there. I'm ready for a year or so break from her. Unless of course it's a side story about her husband coming out, or Levi calling off the wedding, or Track getting kicked out of the Army. But I don't want to watch her running for another office anytime soon.

That woman just grates on my last good nerve...
  • Ann · 12 months ago
Perhaps Lisa can talk to God and find out if he is going to open that door. If God opens that door just a crack, why Sarah Palin is goin' ta plow right on threw it. Look out, Lisa!
  • RitornaVincitor · 12 months ago
Oops. I didn't know both e's in résumé were accent aigu. I always thought it was only the last one. Duh. But I'll bet Sarah Palin thinks it's spelled "rezoomay".
  • djny10003 · 12 months ago
There's a good chance she could run for re-election as governor and LOSE in 2010. That would be sweet.
  • james k. sayre · 12 months ago
Sarah who? In two years, Governor Palin will have been deposed for her massive personal corruption in Alaska. Sarah who?
  • larry · 12 months ago
I luv this Palin chick! She is such a gift to Democrats that we need to send this woman mucho gifts from Neimans and Saks ! Girlfriend is not a strike or flash point for Democrats and the GOP she is the dagger at the GOPs throat...no need for Democrats to worry. This broad will be the gift that keeps on giving. She has problems with the GOP leadership in Alaska...the Speaker of the Legislature, a republican woman, would just as soon cut her throat as look at her...the sitting GOP Senator from Alaska and the greatest of all with the the value voters will implode over the charismatic Palin, the evangelical Huckafart, and the cultist LDS Mitt. And the GOP establishment is talking the Faux Obama from Louisiana...guess they seem to think that the key to recovery for them is a man of color who speaks Reagan.....problem is that the GOP establishment doesn't seem to understand what the party has become...a regional theocratic racist party. SURPRISE!

The whole meow thing is disappointing. Because they're women, we have to go to catfight? Let's move past that and talk about it as a great political skirmish, whatever the gender.
  • dcrowe · 12 months ago
Obviously a short stop in the Senate is not the way to the White House.
  • ewastud · 12 months ago
"Obviously, a short stop in the Senate is not the way to the White House."

What an ironic statement! Of course it was for Obama, but he is well regarded by a majority of the electorate as eminently qualified to be in the White House; Palin most assuredly is NOT by any stretch of the imagination.

I can't stand the politics of either of these two women, but nor can I stand you characterizing the comments of two women politicians as a cat fight. You keep insisting that sexism doesn't exist while displaying it yourself. lets see if the next time two male politicians are sniping at each other you have a headline that reads meow. Geez... for a smart guy you are pretty dim on this subject. Will the light bulb EVER go on???
