This recession won't last long...it'll soon be a depression.

    Friday, 21 November 2008 00:00

ForeclosureRadar, the only website that tracks every California foreclosure with daily auction updates, today issued its monthly California Foreclosure Report. April foreclosure numbers were up in all categories, creating extraordinary indicators. Average daily auction sales exceeded 1,000 properties a day for the first time in California's history. >/i>

They're confirming what many of us already knew.

    ---

yeah but Chris... we're just a nation of whiners in a mental recession, remember?

If you're repugnican, none of this is really happening... and if it is, its Clinton's fault.

So if the average recession lasts two years, this one is half over. That's a relief!
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
in this case, this may be the first time bush succeeded in doing anything that could be considered "above average" though.

yay chimpy! you get a silver star on your coloring book project! mom and dad must be soooo proud of you.

funny it took them a year to figure out what we all did last fall. The only irritating things is that Pelosi and Reid have been non existent for the past two years, never held Bush's feet to the fire or delivered on the wishes of fellow Americans. Now it is all dropped into Obama's lap. He is surrounding himself with sober, competent people. Paulson now says he can't figure out where all the money in the bailout went. Arrogant self serving imbeciles still inhabit Washington advisors.

Bush said today: "I think I was unprepared for war," Bush told ABC News' Charlie Gibson.

I'm still convinced cheney has dirt on pelosi and reid... and THAT'S why they did nothing but roll over for him since 2006.

My brand of coffee was down a dollar in price at my local Sam's a few minutes ago and 5 Maine lobster tails were $36...local gas prices, oddly, rose over the weekend.
OT but interesting bit of fundie sexual hijinks on my local news this morning:

The chief financial officer for Cincinnati Christian University is facing charges after being arrested by police...[He] allegedly got into a vehicle and had sexual contact with the occupant, who was actually an undercover police officer.

while its always gratifiying to see some 'chri$tian' getting caught with his pants down... this one is really strange.

what the hell is sexual imposition? he didn't offer money... unless he whipped something out (which would be indecent exposure I'd think)... what is he charged with exactly? did the cop proposition and then say no?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
okay, the best I can garner from the law http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2907.06

he either snuck into the officer's car and started fondling him... or the officer entrapped him and realized he couldn't charge him with soliciting prostitution because the guy didn't talk about money.

trumped up charge, this guy is going to skate... and if I were him? after the whole news article and everything? I'd sue the shit out of the city and the newspaper.

one other thing, I'm wondering what the 'evidence' is.

"(B) No person shall be convicted of a violation of this section solely upon the victim’s testimony unsupported by other evidence."

I'll grant you the reportage is awful...that's why I posted two different local noooz sources...but the public park is in-fa-mous and has been for 30+ years...two other men arrested in the same location were charged with indecent exposure. I'd guess the arrested man, in the interests of speed and naughtiness, revealed himself, if you will, as he took his seat or placed his hand on the officer's genitals.
I wonder if anyone has ever studied the officers who pose in this type of sting?
Anyway didn't post about the merits of the case just the fact that another fundie was self hoist by the fundie petard of craving dick.

I think it started in November of 2007 when I couldn't get the prices I wantng for the things I was selling on Ebay via an EBay store.

And when can we expect apologies and retractions from all the people in the media and in the government who've been repeatedly insisting for the past twelve months that the economy is not in recession..????

    Uh, huh,,,

That must be the news that has the Dow down over 400 pts as well as the S&P and Nasdaq being down. Wait until the real sales figures for Black Friday weekend come out on Thurs (today's figures are just surveys--guesstimates, in other words) and the unemployment figures for Nov. come out on Friday.

So--now that, according to the guesstimates, people spent an average of $375 this past weekend, does that mean nothing more will be bought during the rest of the month? Supposedly more people paid for their purchases in cash, so unless they have some more stashed away, if some people spend more this month, the mortgage won't get paid [again] ? Or are they depending on bonuses which may never materialize?

    Curious about what people think:

Deep down, do you think George W realizes how much of an utter failure he has been?
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
No, he's incapable of deep thought.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
Looking deep down into himself Bush can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but alas it's just the view from inside an asshole.

Happy........anniversary? For it's birthday I'm going to get the recession a can of hobo-grade beans and a torch to protect those beans from the chuds and vampires.
