Morgan Stanley has dropped over 40% today. I do believe we're about to see another unexpected and forced shotgun wedding. Get the rice!

    Oh, and WaMu is toast.

What the hell is happening to the Stock Market, down 350 and still falling second day in a row.

If I had a half-value dollar for every half-baked pundit I heard yesterday saying of Mr. Obama "He's so dry and unemotional and doesn't connect with ordinary people", I'd be half-rich but still misinformed.
What, exactly, is it the punditry looking for?
Theatrics like Bubba's lip bite or Dubya's spookie ability to semi-moisten his eyes?
Give me a break...Just listen to the audience during an Obama speech (Lord knows C-SPIN won't show a wide shot) and you will hear many group and individual expressions of this mysterious, pundit-sought and emotion-wrought presidential connectivity.
    They can't handle the facts...

This is another solid ad of Obama. It's hitting home, and is on an extremely personal level. It's a perfect balance of pleading and admonishment.

I think it is very good. It is exactly what he needs to do; keep reminding the country how he plans to fix things...say what he is for...keep repeating a POSITIVE approach instead of saying what McCain won't do or can't do (which is true but still negative). This is about Obama and the American people and what has to happen to make things better and that is all that needs to be said over and over. The American people will get it.

That one is just perfect. It isn't professorial at all, but more down to earth and in language most Americans follow without having to "eh, wazzat mean?" occasionally. Loved it. I'm feeling better now.

    PS: DISQUS sucks.

.The current gallup poll dosent show any shift from mccain to Obama , or any political gain to Obama due to his negative campaign, the american people like to punish to incumbentsv when there is a financial crisis, altough the bush admin is not to blame to this crisis, as nobody gave them the benefit the last 6 years of good economy, and altough John Mccain and sarah Palin are seen as reformers , the People are frustrated and seem to blame everything on the republicans, thats why the Dems benefit from any economic crisis , it has nothing to Obama;s harsh blams or his mixed and confused messages, Once people will think into it, and the Debates will be held, Mccain will have a chance to make his choice direct to the american public without any filters, and then they will have to choose between the same old broken promises and nice talk, to the Mccain/Palin team that will fight corruption, shake up washington ,and bring real change to America.

I think this is a very effective ad. It was an FDR type of ad. If we are going to have another Depression, I want to deal with it with a Dem administration. History shows they are much more successful at handling the economy. I just heard that Ike is being mismanaged even worse than Katrina. They won't let the press even do flyovers because of all the bodies in the streets and waterways. The Fema rescuers ran out of food and water FOR THEMSELVES and were asking THE VICTIMS for help and food donations!!! The Republican Party should be dismantled as a danger the country. Just a bunch of greedy incompetents. Hiow many people would still be alive if Gore had been allowed to win his election?

I caught a little of Morning Joe this morning and Joe said this ad was basically boring and will make people turn the channel. Still, what got me was that he said that INSTEAD of an ad like this, he should be nailing McCain on his recent positive comment about the economy and keep hammering him on it all the way until the election in the same fashion that McCain hits Obama for being a 'celebrity'.

What Joe is saying is that the only way to win is who can hit the other guy harder without actually addressing the issues. Maybe he's right -- I don't really know for sure. But it'd be quite disappointing if the American people would base their votes on the negative ads and not on the real issues (like the kind Obama is speaking about here). Still, negative ads prove to work every election and quite often the dirtiest player is rewarded in the end.

Rush Limpballs hates this ad...he was tearing it apart line by line today...it's rather evident that the winger talking points called for trashing this very thoughtful, adult, presidential ad that sets out some concrete solutions for the American people.

    the wingers are reeling...
