AMERICAblog: New Poll: Good riddance

  • ndtovent · 11 months ago
Geez! I can't believe that even 31 percent think he was a good president. I think that number is skewed somehow.
  • devlzadvocate · 11 months ago
That 31 percent was mostly made of comedians.

Thank God and Greyhound........good riddance to a national disgrace...

    On another note:

    from Digby today:

    Smart Guys

    by digby

The Wall Street guys on the Fox News money shows are saying that global warming is bunk because we're having record cold weather.

And we wonder why the financial system imploded.

America wants to move on from its mistake. Perhaps Bush will favor us all and go into seclusion. I know I never want to see his Monkey face again or hear his made up twang.

‘Incompetent’ is the top word that Americans associate with President Bush.

  • TampaZeke · 11 months ago
When you think about it in terms of, one in four Americans will miss him, it puts it more into perspective.

It's not the high number of people who will not miss him that I find astonishing, it's the high number that will miss him that I find to be absolutely unbelievable. One in four? Who the f*ck are these people and why are there so damned many of them after what he's done to our country?
  • RainbowPhoenix · 11 months ago
Incidentally, (or perhaps not), it is only slightly higher than the percentage that still believes in the geocentric model.
  • benb · 11 months ago
23 pct???? When even Pat Robertson thinks Bush screwed up I have to wonder----are 1 in 4 Americans crazier than Pat???
  • devlzadvocate · 11 months ago
I heard PR say he give GWB a C-.

My Republican friends feel that he saved the country from another attack that's why they like Bush. They also feel that Democrats will raise their taxes. Funny how reality and truth don't go hand and hand.
  • devlzadvocate · 11 months ago
He may be leaving, but what about the eventuality of continued dynastic rule?
  • jurassicpork · 11 months ago
That kind of not jibes with that recent Gallup/USA Today poll that reveals Bush is the 2nd most admired man in America.

Let's play a game: Which quotes are from notorious serial killers and which ones are from Bush?

    Answers will be posted tomorrow.
  • brian · 11 months ago
"32% of those questioned said Obama was the man they most admired compared with 5% for President George W Bush who came in second. Defeated Republican presidential candidate John McCain came in third with 3%."
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/dec/26/bar...

Even though Obama is number one, the question is why? He has a great message and I admire him, but there are numerous others in the world that come to mind before the current President and the next President.

Only 24 days left, my lovelies...I'm sure he and Paulson will figure out some way to spend the $350 Billion left in TARP on their friends, too--you know, the money the banks mingle with all their other funds, so they can outsource most of it and give Bush his cut when he leaves?

After all, none of these greedheads gives a flying fig what happens to the rest of us...they'll dump their grandmother as long as they can keep their share of the robbery.

And that 23% that still is giving Bush the benefit of the doubt? They'll be lucky to get unemployment and food stamps...

Ah yes! Well, it was a Damnocratic Congress led by Pelosi and Reid who voted to give Bush and Paulson the $700 billion to bailout Wall Street without any oversight. Furthermore, they have yet to impose any oversight or to act to demand what Paulson is doing with the money he has already given away. Oh yes, among the Congress that voted for the bailout was a very charismatic, articulate, fast-talking Damnocratic senator by the name of Barack Obama.

Here, here! The lemmings, or should we say, the "working people," seem to be inclined to forget and/or overlook such things.

With John and Chris' calls for the assasination of Mugabe, I'm waiting for one of them to put up a new post denouncing Olmert for the bombing and starving of the people of Gaza, along with a call for Olmert's assassination.

In yet another friday news dump, Bush screws over Americans with pensions. Before he signed this bill companies were required to make up losses to their pension funds. Now they don't.

Wall Street gets $8 trillion and the criminals responsible for the financial collapse get their bonuses on the taxpayers' dime, but working people with pensions are just shit out of luck.

My son got killed in Iraq. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My brother lost an arm and a leg in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My husband lost his job down at the plant when the company moved to Mexico. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

I am working three jobs (all of them part-time with no benefits at minimum wage). But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My autistic grandson got removed from special needs education. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My husband had to sell his 4 x 4, which he used on his side-job, this summer when gas went close to five dollars a gallon. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My sister lost her health care insurance when her auto parts company went bust last year. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My dog got sick and died when he ate bad food from China. But President Bush is a man of God who stopped them homosexuals from getting married here.

My house got foreclosed on and we're all living in an apartment paid for by the state. But now the state says they can't afford to put us up no more. So we're going to be homeless on the first of the month.

But President Bush is a man of God and he stopped them them homosexuals from getting married here. And we haven't been attacked by terrorists, either.

    Thank God for President Bush.

Excuse me? What failed marriage results in the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans?
    None that I know of.

I apprehensive about the inexperience of the incoming administration. But I am glad to see Bush leaving. I am one of the dummbies who drank his cool aid. I believed that it would be better to fight the terrorists over there using our terms. However I also was relying on us being informed with the whole truth . I cant blame Bush fully for the worst economy in decades. I feel the perfect storm had to do with the Dem's playing with Fannie mae and the Repub's allowing their wallstreet and banker buds to de-regulate the financial institutions. Together we are all going to experience the mother of all recessions. I am sickened by the fact that after all is said and done we've been paying $4.00 a gallon for gas for no good reason while Bush and Cheney (oilmen) padded their retirerment funds. And lastly it disgusts me That there are two border patrol agents in jail doing long prison sentences for only doing their jobs. Those guys put their lives on the line to protect the american people from the vicious drug cartels who shoot regulary at custom agents. Meanwhile the list of pardons given by Bush includes a long list of cocaine distributors, illegal firearm traffickers, illegal immigrant transporters, and a number of swindlers and embezzlers. If that doesnt make you sick to your stomache I dont know what will. And the worst part is I voted for him twice.

    Bush Is a Book Lover
A glimpse of what the president has been reading.
    By Karl Rove
    Wall Street Journal
    December 26, 2008
    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123025595706634...

With only five days left, my lead is insurmountable. The competition can't catch up. And for the third year in a row, I'll triumph. In second place will be the president of the United States. Our contest is not about sports or politics. It's about books.

    ...

    186 books

Rove is trying to feed us this guff again. Bush hasn't opend a book since My Pet Goat and he faked that to the kids with the help of Rove whispering to him through the ear phone. Telling that he had the book upside down.

What makes Rove believe that we buy this guff? He thinks we are that stupid. Calls into question his own vaunt IQ and the intelligence of everyone in this administration. I have long wondered how someone with supposedly vast intelligence of Condoleezza Rice could stomach working for George Bush. I think it is clear now.
  • Jackson · 11 months ago
I think people who bash Bush will change their minds as the years go by. Heaven forbid we get another terrorist attack on our himeland, but we have not been attacked on our homeland since that terrible day. Gitmo is a paradise compared to our prison system, so the argument that it's inhumane is foolish and reckless. Long live America!
  • Jay Ford Is Smart · 11 months ago
Jay Ford, you're extremely well versed individual. Your intelligence astounds me. Your syntax is flawless. And George Bush is still a piece of dog shit.
