First of all, we need to get rid of Harry Reid. I don't trust him. He is, after all, a mormon. I don't trust any mormon, unless they are willing to publically say they don't support their church getting involved in politics. After "Prop 8" everyone who says they are mormon are guilty of belonging to a ultra-conservative political action committee that pretends to be a church.

I went to the redstate crap I mean blog and they were all outraged thet reid passed the tomnibus bill all the bill's that tom colburn had held up. they were screaming that mconnel didnt have the nads to stop the dems . what they dont seem to understand is that their not in charge anymore..that the legislation that the rethugs have passed have been detrimental to this country but thats never stopped the rethugs from frothing at the mouth just because something is bad for the country doesnt mean its bad for them bassakwards thinking??? well yeah there rethugs but then again the dems r incharge and all the rethugs seem to have to do is go boo and the dems will cave so my hopes arent what you would call up......lets just wait and see dont disapoint us dems like you have all those times in ha past

All Republicans know how to do is OBSTRUCT. Our Senator from Oklahoma, Tom Coburn, is king of obstruction and unfortunately very popular in Oklahoma for his behavior. As long as he stamps his feet and puts the breaks on every good piece of Democratic legislation he can get his claws on then people in his home state cheer him on. Key strategy for Republicans has always been to wait for Democrats to come up with good ideas then obstruct their legislation and then repackage it as their own.

We have to let these so-called "leaders" know that if they don't perform and get this country back on track then they're gone. As for the repugs, I agree let them filibuster and tell the American people why they are so against budget deficits now when they basically just let Bush run up record deficits year after year since 2001. If Reid doesn't have the balls then we demand that the Dems elect a Senate leader that does.

If you pay close attention it is senators from typically conservative states such as Blanch Lincoln from here in Arkansas. She is a dimwit in particular. She is fuming with Obama because he wants to cut out farm subsidies such as her millionare familie's rice base.

Yes, roll them if they keep obstructing. This is no time to allow them to keep giving them unnecessary power when Republicans have driven us into the ditch. I'm hoping, this time, the American people will remember who got them where we are right now. Republicans got their way, and got to implement every damned trickle down, enrich the wealthy and go to war diplomacy ideological mantra they've been spewing since the 1980's and we are screwed for it. They need to just go away for about a millenium before they try their hand at running things again.

Exactly. They need to act quickly and decisively. Obama won in part because of all of the disgusted Republicans out there who either stayed home or voted Democrat for the first time in their lives. Right now people DO remember who got us here but people have the attention span of four-year-olds. That's why Democrats need to take the reins swiftly and with force.

Agree- I would guess that after about 6-9 months blame will start shifting from Bush, to those in power. So we have a narrow window to get something done and Republicans know that. They're going to slow it down so that memory fades of who was responsible. They need to push HARD and shine a spotlight on anyone who gets in their way that they are obstructing.

2) If somehow the Dems manage to locate their balls after all these years, and decide to roll the Rethugs if the Rethugs try to filibuster anything, then they HAVE TO CONTROL THE MESSAGE. The message is "We're trying to save America, but the Rethugs are trying to stop us." That message must be repeated on airwaves, cable, the internet, EVERYWHERE. Dem faces need to be on every talking head show and in every interview consistently driving this message home. The Rethugs ALWAYS control the message because the Dems are too spinelessly timid to bother themselves, and then public opinion turns against them doubly. Don't be fcking stupid.

Couldn't agree more. Most important is to MAKE THEM FILIBUSTER. Don't just cower at the threat, make them do it each and every time. Then shine a spotlight on it and then maintain tight messaging on how they're obstructing all the good we could be doing.

Some democrats from the red states are as bad as the republicans. Putting their own self interest first regardless of outcome. All politicians must unite to save our country. No, this will just make McConnell's successes and Reid's failures sting all that much more. Like getting rapped on the knuckles twice instead of once. Reid could get out dueled by a mule with a CSPAN feed in it's barn.
The question is will they act like the are in charge or will they continue to roll over. There is a lot of work to do to make up for the last eight years of craziness from the Bush administration. I hope the Dems remember that when you win the election you run the show.
