did they claim that they were "possessed by the spirit of God" and were talking in tongues so it was god's will?

I'll bet John wishes that he'd tapped Mittens, instead, now. He only abused the family dog.
What's that smell?

Sarah Palin is increasingly not looking the poster child for Republican family values.
Really? Those aren't republican family values? Oh right, you mean the ones that they preach for everyone else.

H m m m m m . . . more disturbing allegations that need answers from the GOP VP candidate who refuses to meet with the mainstream media.
A puff piece with Chuck Gibson just doesn't cut it.
She needs to face any and all questions from any and all press in a straight forward manner. Anything less is a Rove game to run out the clock.

They will call it a lie, pass it along to the corporaye media who inturn will also say it is a lie, and so on, and so on.
People need to know the truth. The internet is one if they are willing to read or listen.

What trash.

All of this stuff is mildly entertaining, but talkng about this is just what McCain wants us to do, so that the discourse is not about the real issues like the economy and Iraq. Are you better off now than you were four years ago? What the hell is "victory" anyway?

I think you're a bit confused, It's in Canadian elections where issues are debated.

This is off topic, but I have a question: When will Americans grow up? The FACTS are out there. The GOP LIES are, too. Why can't Americans see this? Are so many Americans retarded? They are either retarded or evil. There is no other explanation.
I am sorry if this offends some whose family are Republicans, but come on! There is SO much evidence that the GOP is lying. Some in-laws of mine are still Republicans, and guess what? I don't speak to them. Are holidays unesasy? Not at all. I simply do not attend any functions the GOPers are at.
Only a simpleton would say, "My family comes above politics!" If you truly believe this, ask yourself this: Would you still be so pro-family if they murdered your child? How about if they ensured that your child, with cancer, couldn't get proper medical treatment? It's the same thing.
Family member or not -- Republicans are not human. And if you sit down to holiday dinner with them and "agree to disagree," just remember -- these friendly family members would kill your child.
This isn't a game, folks. It is real.

Two words - DENIAL and LAZINESS. People like this refuse to shake their world views because uncertainty, to them, is uncomfortable. Republican politicians (and their "media") map things out as either good or bad so their followers don't have to do any work. Gays are bad. Abortion is bad. War is good. Government regulation on big business is bad. Global warming is a myth. Democrats will raise taxes and let terrorists attack this country again. All of this passes as truth because republicans don't want to challenge what they're told. They want to go about their merry way watching football with no worries. The Democrats, on the other hand, know there is a huge gray area within the abortion debate that needs to discussed, they are willing to open their minds a little more to the issue of gay marriage, they do want to debate the ethical challenges that war presents, and they do want to strike a balance between letting business AND the general population get ahead financially. But all of this requires thought, debate, planning, and time. Republicans don't want to deal with that much work.

I agree 100%. Do you have children? I have 3, and they are adults now. The phrase "their followers don't have to do any work" reminded me exactly of young children. They will take an hour to try to get out of doing 30 minutes of chores.
Now, I am no longer a football fan, but we all have hobbies. What would life be like to do your hobby 24/7? You might say you'd love to do that, but for most, however much you like your hobby, it would get boring, doing it so often.
My reaction to the GOPers is: they never grew up. Yes, they can spit out a few children, but THEY are children, too.
Most (well, in America, maybe not MOST) adults know that you can't act like this. That anything really good takes work.

Adults should know better than to disparage a parent in front of children. I've seen the craziness that arises in child custody cases. People get downright mean and vindictive. Palin, obviously, was a player in the craziness (peeping in windows). Now their family dysfunction is being played out on a national stage. That should tell us what kind of national leader she would be.

This woman is scaring more and more each day. Messing with kids' minds, making rape victims pay for their own testing, firing anyone who dares confront her, asking God for pipelines.............this woman is a first-class freak. Imagine her dealing with Iran, Moscow, Iraq. She's turning out to be the female version of Dick Cheney. God help us.
Obama HAS to attack her and soon. I just hope he knows what he's doing. So far he has, but I'm getting a little nervous.

Read this story and you'll come away wondering whether Sarah Palin respects the rule of law. She apparently ignored the judge's warning and continued to push the issue after she gained the power of the governorship. And now that she's on the Republican ticket she has requested that an investigation into her behavior re this issue be removed from a bipartisan legislative commission and placed in the state personnel office which answers to - that's right, herself - the governor.
The McCain campaign knew this was coming and launched a scurrilous preemptive attack ad stating that Sen. Obama supported legislation that would subject kindergartners to sex education. This is a lie. There is no truth to it and the McCain campaign knows that. Sen. Obama has supported legislation that would protect children from sexual exploitation.
John McCain is responsible for what his campaign does and this proves that John McCain is so desperate to be president that he will do and say anything to achieve it. He has sold his sole to the Rove Machine.
