The McCain/Palin campaign must think Americans are just plain stupid. All the lying is going to backfire on them.

Does that mean FactCheck.org has to do a fact check on John McCain using FactCheck.org?
. Double negative whammy for McCain.

Hi Rusty!
I'm watching Mathews too and he is having none of this pig crap. Finally he is doing his job! He is making each of the right-wingers who come on look foolish.

think of every horrible thing possible that they could say, and they'll say it like it's truth.
i heard sean hannity an hour ago with a teaser right before a commercial break...he said they'd be talking about Joe Biden's latest attack on Sarah Palin's children.
see that's two lies in one. it insinuates that Biden has made prior attacks and here's just the latest...on Sarah Palin's children. right. that's a lie.

Wow, this is getting out of control. How long can McCain get away with this before this blatant lying starts catching up with him?
Webster

McCain can get away with continuing to blatantly lie as long as the CorporateM$M doesn't call him on it.
And they won't.

What we've learned so far is that Republicans get to make stuff up. That's worth keeping in mind as November 4th approaches.

check out matt damon - how 'bout them apples, palin?
Please, stop this myth of the good McCain before 2007 and bad McCain after 2007. He has ALWAYS been an opportunistic, abusive, philandering, corrupt, self-pitying, rage-filled, incompetent asshole who pleads, like the attention whore that he is, that any "failure" to live up to his own self-image as a Man of Honor and Integrity is due to his being "all too human." And that we should forgive him so he can forgive himself. We are awash in his crocodile tears and the melodramatic bathos he creates for himself.

You know, if it wasn't so damned expensive we could all send a kitchen sink to the McCain Campaign. They're going to run out pretty quick.
They need to ask Cindy the whole concept behind Bush beer/stagnating bong water.

I have been completely amazed at the amount of articles in the mass media in the past week that have started calling McCain on his bullshit. It seems like they're finally starting to grow a backbone and portray this campaign for what it is. There were not nearly as many articles, stories, and segments about a campaign's dishonesty in the 2004 Bush campaign as there are this year about the McCain strategy. I think McCain has stepped on a land mine this time. It's one thing for a politician to spew distortions about his or her candidate, but to misquote a MAJOR newsmagazine to create those distortions is a completely insane example of biting the hand that has been feeding McCain for the past year. I have a feeling the media is going to start really pouring it on McCain now.

Who else has given the speech of their lives and then refused to find a camera...and still gets 24/7 coveragae?
Wgo else could have pulled that off?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? There have been three people in the past three weeks that have given the speech of their lives. Are you referring to Palin?
BLOGGING BITCH!
Absolutely. Palin. McCain's speech sucked.
nothingasitseems
True. Palin's speech was the speech of her life, but look at the coverage of that speech for the past week. At first the media was all over the exciting pick and how fantastic her speech was. Now they're starting to pick apart the factual errors and embellishments... the bridge to nowhere garbage, the plane on ebay garbage. I was really nervous right after the RNC because of the poll numbers about this woman and what she was doing, and certainly now we should be worried becaus Obama lost his lead. But the news coverage about the McCain campaign for this entire week has been completely against McCains fabrications and dishonesty, and we still have the debates in a couple weeks. I suspect Obama will wipe his ass with McCain (as long as the questions are all policy and not cult of personality questions), and I can't wait for Palin to make an absolute fool of herself. Biden doesn't even have to attack Palin, just stick to what he knows and let her lack of knowledge about the issues come out on a national stage. If the McCain campaign doesn't sink after that, then this country has completely let the wool be pulled over its eyes. And we might be lost. I mean it... if McCain wins after the obviousness of how bad a candidate this man is, this country will spiral downwards.

I agree. I wrote last week that the key is how the MSM handles facts. I admit that I was not optimistic, but the last 36 hours are a definite breath of fresh air.

I know you can't gamble online, but what are the odds that David Gregory gets the first interview with Mrs. Palin for MSNBC?
There's just something about this woman and White House stenographers pretending to be journalists.
I say let her spend an hour with Olbermann and Matthews together. I hear they were demoted.

Curious... are there any LAWS against airing blatant, provable falsehoods? Or against misrepresenting quotes? Seems like we should be able to get these pulled and, perhaps sue the campaign?
