AMERICAblog: Newsweek's Jonathan Alter invokes the Keating Five scandal, says McCain getting a free ride from the media

  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
About high time. It only takes one well placed mention to the ball rolling on McCain's Keating 5 scandal. Maybe this is the start of something big.

    OT

Is Bill Clinton supposed to be helping Obama? It sure doesn't sound like it to me. Check out his comments on THE VIEW. If this is the best Cinton can do, I suggest he stay at home.

if you haven't seen this video...YOU MUST.

Why Was Elliot Spitzer politically asassinated? because he was investigating the White Houses mismanagement and DIRECT involvement in pushing predatory lending through manipulation of the OOC..and pushing the financial crisis we are now living with

You know, I was thinking exactly that myself...Not that Spitzer wasn't even more stupid than Clinton, penis-wise, but the the raptor like double-time speed, neck-snapping and loud slurpy chewing of laser-like but accidentally-savvy Feds makes the Spitzer event, retrospectively, more curious in light of recent events...

I like that at the end of the video they bring back our favorite male white house prostitute for a little compare and contrast...

Oh, and here is the editorial that Spitzer wrote... and yes, he was calling out the Bush admin..

"Newsweek's Jonathan Alter invokes the Keating Five scandal, says McCain getting a free ride from the media..."

MSM doesn't want the game over too quickly. There is money to be made.

OT: What's up with the SEIU? United Health Workers I get, but SEIU?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
SEIU is the largest union organization of American health care workers. They are kind of like a big umbrella with smaller organizations falling under that umbrella. Really, they were here in Denver supporting United Health Workers and I was very impressed with them.

I think Obama is holding that card until he really needs it. That is like Ace and he will use it sparing and when it's going to do the most damage.

Yes, why isn't anyone bringing out the Keating five scandal? Today I saw a despicable ad from, as usual, the McPain campaign, bringing out Rezko's name.
So why doesn't someone connect McPain to a real dishonest scandal?

Rachel Maddow mentioned that "road to nowhere", where Palin supposedly had continued building a meaningless road at tax payer's expense, that stopped dead at the place where the bridge would have been built. Now she continued that road, even after the bridge was cancelled. This shows her bad judgment, and a waste of tax payer's money. Why isn't anyone highlighting this in an ad? I also see that McAppalin' is continuing the lies and exaggerations on a daily basis. McPain seems to say anything damn thing he wants, and he does not care if he is called on that.

Rezko is what? Not even PEANUTS compared to Keating Five! Rezko isn't even proven. I'm with ya here.

I'm totally with ya. Anyone who brings up Rezko should IMMEDIATELY be shouted down with "McCain - Keating Five! McCain - Keating Five!"

Can someone explain this to me:

    http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5idAu75NA23JL...

Speaking of media, etc...is Biden apologizing, or just pretending? I sincerely hope it's the latter...
  • scytherius · 1 year ago
Maybe this is the beginning of it. If the blogs and us via letters, email, etc beat it to death the press will pick it up.

    like they have 'election fraud'?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Best solution to the crisis is definitely to sell Alaska.

And if we can sell John McCain and his 12 homes and 13 cars, let's do that, too.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
    ...'sell John McCain?

    caveat emptor!

Keating 5 is certainly a hot topic on the blogs and Obama doesn't have to do anything, just like with Palin. The MSM will blow it up. He just has to sit back an watch that one manifest itself. Rape-Kit, bridge/road to nowhere, her crazy pastor, her crazy church, no abortion in the case of rape/incest, troopergate, campaign organizer comment. Obama didn't have to say anything, the MSM was great at planting doubts about McCain and his negative campaign. He let the MSM take the lead and he can just focus on the issues and their contrast with his ideas. It works perfectly. It will be a media topic in about a week.

McCain's Keating Five Scandal ads should be heading down the pike! Get them out there. It is absolutely relevent to this scandal and crisis.

Funny, but the Republican talking point today is the bailout shouldn't put the burden on taxpayers. Huh?

What part of handing $700 billion to Wall Street doesn't put a BURDEN on taxpayers? Spending $700 billion is a BURDEN ON TAXPAYERS! Its a non sequitor to even say something like that.

I just heard that fool Republican congressman, Mike Pence, R-Indiana say this bailout shouldn't be a burden on the American taxpayer on MSNBC's Hardball.

Oh, okay, I get it now. Mike Pence is against the bailout. Unlike the Republican caucus who is for it. I wonder what deal he cut in order to be able to rail against it while all the rest of the THUGS ram it down our throats!

The McCain connection to the Keating Five scandal should be brought up DAILY. It's insane to believe that one of the people responsible for this financial tsunami would be able to reverse it.
