AMERICAblog: Newt Gingrich thinks his gay sister is a fascist. But I'm sure she thinks the same of her brother, and she'd be right.

Demonize others by accusing them of being exactly what you are guilty of.

Sums up Republicans in a nutshell.
  • anarchy · 1 year ago
yunno, going all the way back to his Contract
on America, I thought "what kind of douche
nozzle is named NEWT for Chrizzist's sake??"

pathetic sack of shit, that's Newt Gingrich.

I'm prepared to ignore him completely and
I'd like to extend an invitation for all to join me.

same goes for creeps like Lush Rimjob and
all of the Faux News crowd.. THEY think they're
the standard bearers??! that's a real hoot!

the less attention paid the better, I say.

Focus on the Family announced this afternoon that 202 jobs will be cut companywide — more than 20 percent of its workforce. Initial reports bring the total number of remaining employees to around 950.

Evidently Newt thinks the proper respect for marriage is to be a serial adulterer and have three wives.

Why does no one call him on this shit on air?
  • anarchy · 1 year ago
because Lush Rimjob thinks proper respect
for marriage is Viagra plus a little vacation to
Thailand in order to have sex with children,
    that's why!

plus he's a pasty-faced fat fuck douche bag.
  • Abelard · 1 year ago
Yes, because boycotting companies that want to strip me of my marriage is evil.

Since when is forced capitalism an American trait? Oh, that's right. When douchebag Newt wants to get the base behind him for his run for the White House.

Is anyone tired of pointing out the pure blatant hypocrisy of the right wing REPUKES????

Unfortunately, the right wing media, stirs these people up like a rancid soupy mac-n-cheese.... It stinks to high heaven.... (if you believe in that pie in the sky bullshit)
  • cyninbend · 1 year ago
It's just the typical reverse speech the right wing nuts have used since Reagan's days when women, blacks, and those wanting to protect the environment, as 3 examples I remember, became "interest groups"....the twisted logic took hold and has been a Repug rhetorical tool ever since. Now, somehow heterosexuals are being forced to be tolerant by these fascists? They know darn well it's their own fascism limiting the rights of others! So they come out with this pitiful reversal...and the wing-nuts drink the Kool-Aid and start using this crazy talk and believing their rights are somehow being infringed! Their "right" to live in a heterosexuals-only universe....it's like their "right" to discriminate in employment and housing, their "right" to shove their religion down everyone's throats, and other "rights" that really are just the inverse of legitimate rights (to shelter, employment, not have the state force them to exercise a particular religion, etc). Since all the other things they have used this silly logic on are (at least now) established principles, it shows the weakness of their position! It's just for their base...no one else buys it.

Al Franken had a great bit about "traditional values" and marriage and Newt Gingrich, something like ' ...and which marriage is it you're defending, is it your fist one, (when he delivered divorce papers to his wife in her hospital room as she was recovering from cancer,) is it your second one, which you got divorced from or is it your current one, with the wife you were having an adulterous affair with before the last divorce...?'

Yes, Newt sure is one to talk about the destruction of marriage as an expert. Two down, life only half over. Must be the Gays' fault.

The comedian Marc Maron used to joke that Bush could shoot a puppy on live TV and then say, "Awww, see what Clinton made me do?"

    And NOW, I've heard EVERYTHING.

Prince is now a freaking Jehovah's Witness, bashing gays, bible thumping, and against gay marriage, and gays in general.

    I kid you not.

    STFU, Prince.

Gay marriage and doing 'whatever you want' is wrong, says Prince

    By PAUL WALSH, Star Tribune
Kevork Djansezian, Associated Press - AP

Prince, the gender-bending Minnesota rocker who now lives in California and makes the rounds as a Jehovah's Witness, spoke out in a newly released interview that the Bible opposes homosexuality and God has said "enough."

The comments from the Grammy-winning musician, who for decades has graced concert stages in high heels, makeup and flamboyant garb, appear in the Nov. 24 issue of New Yorker.

"So here's how it is," Prince began, "You've got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to this." He pointed to a Bible.

"But there's the problem of interpretation, and you've got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn't."

Prince then moved to the other side of the political aisle, Democrats, saying, "They're, like, 'You can do whatever you want.' Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right."

When asked for his views on social issues--gay marriage and abortion--Prince tapped his Bible and said, "God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, 'Enough.' "

He has been studying the bible with Larry Craig, again! Oh, Prince! Stop studying the bible with your Republican playmates from the airport men's room.

once I was woke up by some Jehovah's Witlesses
knocking on my door, and I answered in my boxers
and - get this - a NEGATIVLAND t-shirt that reads
    "Christianity Is Stupid.. give up"

oh, it was such a sweet moment of synchronicity.

Its called Projection and the Republican Fascists who run the GOP are constantly projecting. They take what they hate about themselves and project it outward, pointing and screaming about it with four fingers pointing back at themselves.

I had the pleasure of knowing Candace Gingrich while living in Washington, DC. She doesn't deserve such a jerk as a brother. By the way, Candace told me their name is actually pronounced "Ging-grick" but for some unknown reason Newt likes to say its "Ging-gritch." Its probably some ego thing with him. It probably makes him feel more important to single handedly change the pronunciation of their family name.
  • RIPWAMU · 1 year ago
He probably got teased - "Ging-prick"
  • Joneses · 1 year ago
    Prince, are you kidding me?
  • okojo · 1 year ago
Didn't Gingrich make a speech at a First Amendment Dinner, (I think it was in honor of nutball New Hampshire Newspaper editor, William Loeb or a relative of Loeb) stating that the First Amendment isn't a suicide pact?!?!?!? hmmm, that isn't fascist what so ever... (Gingrich also as usual, completely misuse the definition of fascism)

I always thought Gingrich is a psychopath, given he seemed to have no shame, and he burns out irony detectors left and right.

Given he was one of the biggest supporters of Rumsfeld, who pushed the policy of torture, eavesdropping, and suspension of habeas corpus, it is pretty obvious who is the fascist around here..

I would like to see Newt run for President in 2012, because he would get demolished in the primaries. He was never a popular national figure
  • Jessica54 · 1 year ago
Newt is such a dumb shit. Typical hetero, white, male Republican.

While on the way to work, I was listening to Armstrong & Getty. Some guy called in saying he voted No on Prop 8, but now wished he had voted YES. He had this change of heart after seeing the protests and realizing he didn't want gay marriage "shoved down his throat." Yeah, those darn pesky homersexuals...wanting equal rights.
  • anarchy · 1 year ago
as a straight white man, I highly resent being
    lumped in with Newt Ging-fuckface.

    LOL!
  • LeftCoastOracle · 1 year ago
Actually I'm quite accustomed to this phenomenon having been a first wave modern feminist fighting the "tell" of the white male of the '70s but I caution you not to ignore Newt's inclusion of "secular." I'm one of those too and let me tell you we recognize the "tell" displayed by all of the religious in this country. It is not possible to run for, and be elected to, any office in this country unless you espouse some sort of religion - preferably christianity or judaism. Well look at that, your software tells me I've misspelled both words because I didn't use an upper case c and j. Does that tell you something?
  • green_libertarian · 1 year ago
Ah, another angry atheist, what a surprise. And I don't think Disgus has a spell checker, so who's spell checker are you talking about?

Yes, right, all religious people and all breeders are BAD.
  • LeftCoastOracle · 1 year ago
It's Disqus, and if you misspell a word you'll see what I mean. But more to the point, I am not an atheist. I am a secularist. Please do not make the mistake of assuming that all secularists are atheists.
  • green_libertarian · 1 year ago
Point taken. I too am a secularist, in general terms as far as government goes. The difference is, I have no problem with religionists who think that their faith compels them to fight for social justice, and have a government that does that.

People of faith, mostly Christians, including a majority of Catholics and Jews, elected Barack Obama.
  • RitornaVincitor · 1 year ago
I like atheists. Nice people. Very laid back. Very accepting. I don't know a single atheist that hates god. In fact, I don't know a single atheist that believes in god.
  • RitornaVincitor · 1 year ago
It's an interesting kind of paranoia, isn't it? They are doing something nasty, and therefore they know it can be done. And since they know it can be done, they suspect us of doing it too. So of course they think they have to redouble their efforts to beat us at it before we beat them. So in their eyes we are the ones trying to impose our will on others. We are the ones taking away their rights. We are the ones playing the system in stealth.
  • Buford · 1 year ago
Let's see... 'Under God' added to the Pledge of Allegience, Christian prayers at school events, no sale of alcohol or certain other goods on Sundays (blue laws), dry counties in the south, and so on... I don't really want to hear about how Christians are the victims of cultural fascism.

  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
If we are going to use fascist tactics, so be it. Whatever it will take to return the nation to the Constitutional freedom FROM religion as well as freedom OF religion. Fine with me, this label. I have no problem with it. Fuck you, Newt and your wingnut base. Fuck you. Playing nice has won us nothing in civil rights. Let's get nasty.
  • bbock · 1 year ago
This isn't exactly a tell. A good example of a tell came from Molly Ivins who pointed out that if you wanted to see what program Governor or President George Bush was going to fuck up next, watch his press events. He would always hold an event and honor or complement the program. He would then cut it. That's a tell.

No, what Republicans do is called deflection and projection.
  • RIPWAMU · 1 year ago
"Impose its will on the rest of us". Unbelievable ignorance. But that is the leading trait of all religious and republican crazies.

I, as a straight woman, am sick and tired of these jackasses imposing their will on me and mine
  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
Wow that is quite harsh coming from Mr. G, considering he is an adulterer, ethics violator, and Monarchist, Aristocrat loving, Nazi.

A poker "tell" is accidental. This is projection (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_proj...), pure and simple. And it is used quite deliberately.

It does several things all at once. It muddies the meanings of words, while keeping their positive or negative connotations as a useful veneer. The "Clear Skies Initiative" actually increases pollution, "No Child Left Behind" abandons support for struggling schools, "The Patriot Act" abridges personal liberties.

This "fascist" one is getting a lot of mileage. An earlier example has been in Iraq. The insurgency has been labeled as "fascists", but it's been the American occupation that has used a private, corporate military.

But another effect of this projection is that it robs the opposition of a valid response. "No, *you're* the fascist!" has all the rhetorical strength of "I know *you* are, but what am *I*!" And attempts to clarify word meaning can too easily lead the argument into becoming one of semantics instead of substance.

Conservative pundits (and administration officials in the last 8 years) have used this tool over and over. Thankfully, it seems to be losing some of its effectiveness.
