see, I'd consider a marriage that is loving and lasts "traditional"... its not supposed to be "until someone sexier comes along" newt.
as for 'activist judges'... they read the California constitution... and decided the suit was valid, the law voted on by the public shouldn't have been allowed.

The Republican "traditional" marriage is different from Democratic "traditional" marriages. Democratic "traditional" marriages/unions are based on respect and honesty. Gingrich is why I am 100% for a law making divorce completely illegal. If they're gonna fuck us over and make our marriages not be legally recognized, then fuck if I'm gonna give them heteros any slack. They need to be limited to one marriage, with no divorce allowed. Traditional family values.

Why is it that President Clinton is still fodder for late night talk show jokes and Gringrich, whose actions far worse morally, is never mentioned. Obviously juvenile fooling around is funnier than actually cheating on and abandoning your spouse. He was cheating on his 2nd wife while he was busy impeaching Clinton. Until we (progessives) figure out how to expose this hypocrisy for what it is, we (progessives) will continue to be on the losing end of the issues. At this point it's too far gone to even bring up.

What irks me is that the third Mrs. Newt is Catholic, although she seems to have remembered it only after all her nooners on Newt's Capitol Hill desk. Newt had his first two marriages annulled so that No. 3 could have a Catholic church wedding.
I don't mind the annulments because the main grounds for granting annulment is that one or both parties were too immature to enter into a lifelong commitment, and that describes Newtie to this day. What I don't understand is how he was able to have a Catholic wedding when the Church used to deny the sacrament of matrimony to notorious adulterers, which is also an exact description of Newtie.
So now the bishops are giving him the benefit of the doubt, taking his word that this time he means to stay married for life. Why, then, won't they give Kerry, Pelosi, Kennedy et al. the benefit of the doubt as to whether or not their votes on abortion legislation are consciously intended to promote abortion.
