She is not going, she stated that even IF she lost PA she is not leaving the race. I worked with four people today, all women. None of them, not one would vote for HIllary. Now isn't that strange, not one in four will pull the lever for Hillary should she manage to get the nomination. Oh, one of them is a reformed REpub, she hates Bush and McCain and was prepared to vote for ANY democrat EXCEPT Clinton.

I've been an Obama supporter from the beginning and I still enthusiastically support him. Nobody hopes more than I do that Senator Clinton will drop out. But the other other day, I passed a guy in Union Square here in New York who was wearing a T-shirt that said "Bro's Before Ho's" and it had a picture of Obama and Clinton under the "slogan". I should have said something, one Obama supporter to another, but I went on by.

I wish people wouldn't gloat or make fun of Senator Clinton or her supporters or of her refusal to get out of the race. We're going to have enough trouble with the Republicans. We oughtn't to start off having a bunch of trouble with each other.

It's time to start thinking about being gracious.

ROTFLMAO! I hate to be politically incorrect, but that is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. You can't say she didn't ask for it with all her lies and the fact that White House logs revealed she was *inside* the White House when Bill did his thing to the young intern. The Clintonistas are finally getting their comeupance.

It isn't being politically incorrect so much as it is being politically foolish.

In all honesty, do you want people who embrace racist tactics to be in the Democratic Party? I don't. Here's the evidence: http://www.americablog.com/2008/03/why-is-obama...

When politicians become so cynical as the Clintons to join up with right-wing talk show hosts like Limbaugh in order to demonize other Democrats, I don't think they belong in the Party. Here's the evidence: http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily...

I simply don't trust someone who at this point is siding with the divisive and partisan bulldog tactics of Hillary. Don't forget, a lot of the Hillary 'supporters' are actually Limbaugh shills doing his bidding in what he calls 'Operation Chaos'. We need to call evil as evil and as far as I'm concerned, Hillary and her Hillbots can go to hell. If she somehow manages to steal the election, I would NEVER vote for her. Would you? I would rather McCain take the Presidency than Hillary.

    Belinda:

In all honesty, I used to like the Clintons a lot. I think she's been a good Senator for my state, despite stupid votes w/r/t to Iraq, etc. But now I'm really to the point to where I can't stand her.

But a lot of my friends, women, mostly, it has to be said, are supporters of her campaign. I've known these people for years and years. They are not racists, they are not right-wingers, they are not Limbaugh ditto-heads. They have their own reasons for supporting her... in many cases, it has to be said, it's because they want to see a woman break that glass ceiling.

I treat them and their opinions with great respect not just because they are good friends of mine, but also because I can see where they are coming from w/r/t breaking the glass ceiling. I think they are wrong to make that their primary reason for voting for Senator Clinton, but that is how they feel and I have to respect their opinions.

Above all, I treat them with respect because I don't want to have to overcome some sort of resentment on their part for anything I said against Clinton during this primary season. I want them to come around to my view once Obama is the candidate.

It's pretty much that simple for me. The vast majority of Clinton supporters are not racist. They are not Limburgers. They believe in their candidate just as thoroughly as I believe in mine. They are Democrats. They are my people. We will need them in the Fall.

What you do and what you say is up to you. It's still, despite the Bush Administration's best efforts, a free country. I think it's foolish to drive away disappointed Clinton supporters, but if you think it is the right thing to do, then go ahead. Far be it from me to stop you.

mweholt: "I think she's been a good Senator for my state, despite stupid votes w/r/t to Iraq, etc."

Seriously, name a single positive thing she's done. All the Clintons seem to do is spread division and make the Republicans hate us that much more. We need to work with both political parties and finally get something done in Washington. Obama is all about unity and healing. Clinton is too beholden to an extremist Democrat platform and all she cares about is winning. I honestly can't think of one time when she's helped the regular people out there, the voters.
  • mweholt · 1 year ago
I already said I can't stand her. I hope you aren't expending energy on trying to convince me to hate somebody I already can't stand. I don't give a damn about her. I care about her supporters.

Obama is getting the nomination. It's over, no matter how much damage the Clintons continue to do. It has to be fought out to the end because those are the rules, but it's essentially over and that's why (or, one reason why) I wish the hell she would quit.

The media wants us to believe she still has a chance. She doesn't. It's over.

In the meantime, it's necessary to look to the care and feeding of our fellow Democrats who currently support her.

And I think any Democrat who thinks voting for McCain is a good idea needs to learn a lot more about McCain. Fortunately it's not going to come to that. It's going to be Obama v. McCain, and the job now is to help Clinton supporters get right with this.

That's why I think all this gloating is self-destructive. But then, most gloating is, I suppose.

On the Verge of a Stunner in Pennsylvania?

Right now, the exits are saying Obama 52 percent, Clinton 47 percent. But, don't believe them. It's closer than that. 49%-51% Clinton.

    Dear HIll:

Can't think of anyone who could say it better than Tracey Ullman as she closed her weekly show:

    "GO HOME
    JUST GO HOME"

    Dear HIllary,
It's sad, really, but the fact is . . . nobody likes you. I'm voting for somebody else. You take care, now, okay? and don't let the bed bugs bite. You're a good person. Really, you are. It's just that . . . well, I don't want you around any more.

    Here's my letter:

"Hey Hill, the test results came back...you've infected me with bitterness. Nice job. I think I'll start dating that other guy - his dick is bigger than yours, anyway. Plus I don't think he'll be a deadbeat like you - his bank balance is in the black. Now piss off."
