AMERICAblog: Norm Coleman can't win. Now, he's just doing the GOP's dirty work to keep Franken out of the Senate for as long as possible

  • sittenpretty · 11 months ago
    he is becoming the anti-christ
  • An_American_Karol · 11 months ago
I can understand the Southern Senators acting like a bunch of asses. They're representing their constituents. I don't see what Coleman hopes to gain.
  • sittenpretty · 11 months ago
money in an offshore bank acct methinks
  • sullivan · 11 months ago
In NC we have a senator NOT acting like an ass, Kay Hagan. We also went for Obama and have a Dem female Governor. So bug off!

The GOP is rapidly becoming a neo-Confederate party. Where will the next Fort Sumter be?

Good Gawd, that picture of Coleman looks like Greta Van Susteren from Foxnews.

Coleman is a putz. Meanwhile, OT, but more Bush family damage:

HOUSTON (AP) - A federal judge accused of gropping two female court employees as he tried to force himself on the women and have them perform sex acts pleaded guilty on Monday to obstruction of justice in exchange for sex-related charges being dropped.

U.S. District Judge Samuel Kent, the first federal judge charged with a sex crime, retired Monday, avoiding possible impeachment by Congress.

Kent's guilty plea came as jury selection in his trial was to begin.

The jurist, who once shouted in court that he would bring "hordes of witnesses" in his defense, spoke barely above a whisper as he pleaded guilty to lying to a judicial committee investigating the sex-related charges.

    (Kent was appointed by GHWBush)

    wtf is gropping?

    GROPING.

Jesus, doesn't anybody have a fucking editor anymore?
  • Older_Wiser · 11 months ago
Oh, the AP edits, all right, just not their grammar and spelling.
  • Ticket's on me! · 11 months ago
Hey Norm, Please take yourself a long flight over Ohio on a small private plane. I'll buy you the ticket and supply you with a bag of Weak and Stupid's favorite pretzles to snack on during the trip.

Al Franken has been a gentleman throughout this sham. A better man than I. I would have let my anger get the best of me and sued Coleman's arse for obstruction of a legally elected senator from performing his duties. This is typical GOP baloney. If they can't win fair and square, they will resort to dirty tricks or steal the election somehow to stay in power. They think they are entitled to the office regardless of the outcome of the voting. What a pathetic bunch of cretins they have become. No honor among thieves.

Sounds like Norm is gearing up for an appeal.......if he does appeal they should throw the case out......they could make this go on indefinitely.....appealing til the next election..........which is probably the plan....

Some Court(whether MN or Federal) needs to stop this ridiculous going on and on and on.....
  • ndtovent · 11 months ago
I agree with you. I think it's a ploy to keep the senate seat open till after the 2010 election. What an a**wipe coleman is.
  • scytherius · 11 months ago
Well . . . at least they have killed the Republican brand in MN by doing this.
  • Mike_in_the_Tundra · 11 months ago
"Coleman is putting his partisan interests ahead of the interests of Minnesotans."

That is exactly what he did during his six years as senator.
  • cowboyneok · 11 months ago
    That and his ego.
  • cowboyneok · 11 months ago
Oh, my... Norah O'Donnell is getting slammed by a fellow Republican on MSNBC. Wonder if she is reconsidering her membership to the Republican Party. The guy just said she should have been "fired for stating Sarah Palin called Obama a terrorist!" The guy is a TYPICAL Republican pig. They are certainly eating their own...
  • cowboyneok · 11 months ago
I think Coleman is hoping Franken dies in a plane crash. Its how he got elected in the first place... with the death of our hero, Paul Wellstone.

Eventually we'll find out who has been paying the lawyers. Ginsburg has proven that he'll do anything to help Republics/Swift Boaters and he'll not stop until or unless he's caught (i.e Swift Boaters), but I'll bet the farm that he ain't working for free, and that he's veeerrrryyy expensive.

The Republican leadership considered Franken a "clown" who could never get elected. They considered their candidate competent and his seat safe.

The Republicans obviously misjudged the electorate and underspent on securing a would be "safe" seat. Losing by an incredibly small margin is just more salt on the would. Somebody needs to send them a box of kleenix.

Just as long as he keeps Franken out long enough to have him pass a sanity test. The man is batt-shit crazy!
  • teammarty · 11 months ago
Good grief. He's been kept out too long for no reason. Al's one of the smartest and classiest in the Senate, when, if he gets there.
  • teammarty · 11 months ago
Are you sure about that? I think Coleman's plan is to appeal until he finds a W the Usurper appointee who will decide for him, using Bush v. Gore as precident.
  • Mollie · 11 months ago
There was a woman on C-Span this morning praising Pawlenty. He does such a wonderful job, she said. This is one of the Bauchman voters, they are all crazy. They must like to live in poverty.
  • Roddy McCorley · 11 months ago
I'm no attorney, but it seems to me what we have here is Coleman & his backers engaging in a flat-out conspiracy to deprive the citizens of Minnesota of their constitutionally mandated representation in the Senate. This is a civil rights issue now.
  • SouthernYankee · 11 months ago
I think they would have backed off if was any other democrat or independent. The republican truly HATE Franken more than they hate Obama.
