AMERICAblog: Now Hillary says Obama won't be the winner even if he reaches 2,029 delegates

  • dad · 1 year ago
[i'm] not afraid. angry, motivated and ready to take the fight straight at republicans.

just waiting for the Clinton's to get out of our way.
  • gonzalez · 1 year ago
I'm and have been a strong democrat all of my life but, I will never vote for Clinton. The democratic leadership know this since I have told them so. They are weak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • malcontends · 1 year ago
I won't vote for Hillary, but it won't come to that.

She's bluffing; playing the game like the cards are where she wants them. You're right, in appearence she's reaching, even if she's merely holding her head high when it's raining.

What I mean her only viable posture and message at this point is to project a determination to stay in the game, just like the message everyone else projects right before he/she drops out. Not worries, she's history. [BTW, any early exit poll data anywhere?]

Unfortunately, she thinks you're bluffing, that you'll hold your nose and vote for her anyway. Where are the Greens when you need them? Sometimes I think Ralph Nader shot his wad eight years too early.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
I think Hillary has to talk very, very big or she won't be able to raise any money at all, and she will have lotsa big bills to pay after today.
Happily, she will leave enough angry and disappointed people behind in this race that she and Bill may never be factors in the Dem. Party again.
  • devis1 · 1 year ago
Agreed. I just finished watching the Daily Show from last night. Harry Reid was the guest--seems like a nice enough guy, but he was also somewhat pathetic in his demeanor. Sorry, but they have no cajones and that just ain't cutting it anymore.
  • Skycat · 1 year ago
I thought Harry Reid's appearance on the Daily Show was actually the moment of Zen.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
John, can you start an organized campaign of sort here where we write and DEMAND that the Democratic Party stop this nonsense or else will lose many of us.

    And yes they will lose.
  • dad · 1 year ago
Yes, the established Democratic leadership has been weak. On Iraq, on defending the Constitution and now on this. But the establishment protects the establishment - political survival is a politican's first concern. The Clinton's have been the Democratic Party for 12 years.

This is how change happens. This is why change happens so infrequently. Change is tough on the establishment because it is them we seek to change.

    Smile and fight on.
  • ChicagoKid · 1 year ago
OT: Seems somehow the White House emails around the time we invaded Iraq weren't saved or backed up. Hmmm. Wonder why that is. Must have been a simple mistake, right?!

The war crimes trial begins the day the dems take office.

2209 is the new goalpost. Best comment over at politico...

    "2209--Year Hillary will be President"
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    John

Earlier this morning I suggested perhaps a change from negative Clinton posts BUT later when I heard the reports that she is NOW doing the weirdest math and ONCE again moving the goal posts, I went ballistic. No One in this party seems to have the balls to step in and squelch this insane megalomaniac woman. Over the span of a few months I went from trying to be neutral to down right hate of this woman.

Enough of her "I am the winner". NO she is not and self-proclamation doesn't make it so. You want to fight her all year, I am with you.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
Agreed! Let's have a floor fight to rival the one back in 1948 when the Dixiecrats walked out. Freedom of speech is not a new concept. Let the Dixiecrats get out of the Democratic Party process and run their own candidate. Let's do it!

When a queen thinks she is of divine delineation, then the unwashed masses must revolt. My family were at the Boston Tea Party. We are very good at decrowning royal upstarts. It is time for the queen to be taken off her fucking throne.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Soon some hillary surrogate will advocate going back to using Article 1, Section 2, Paragragh 3 of the US constitution.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
    She is just that evil.
  • dad · 1 year ago
    Let's not force a break-up. Let's be persistent.

They'll come around. They won't lead the march but they'll join it when it leaves without them.

Understand that their seats are very soft and that they are very comfortable.
  • constantcomment · 1 year ago
stolen election, my eye.. rolf. who ever wins , wins by the rules. obama is gonna win. just cool your jets and take another one of mamma's little blue helpers.
  • nashcountync · 1 year ago
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more.

It felt so good to vote for Obama. Come on, North Carolina, let's kick Billary's butt.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Hey nashcountyneighbor. Granville here. It did feel good to vote for Obama. I know he is going to take our state, it's Indiana we need to cheer on to give Obama the sweep needed to put the evil one away for good.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    dad

I don't think "they" will come around. For months now the Dems have let Clinton rule the message, change the message, and abuse the message. It is time for this to stop. When she now says she is leading by adding in the MI and FL voters, AFTER she signed an agreement not to do so it is time to make her ABIDE by the norms of civil elections. She will never do this on her own, that is apparent.
  • jr · 1 year ago
Hillary and her supporters wouldn't have wanted Jackie Robinson to play major league baseball
  • dad · 1 year ago
    aquarius2,
I'm not sure Hillary and Bill will come around either. However I believe the rest of the Democratic establishment will. When it is clear the train is near full and ready to leave the station they will be cramming on. The Clinton's may indeed be left screaming on the platform.
  • devis1 · 1 year ago
    Moment of Zen--lol!!
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Alright!
  • nashcountync · 1 year ago
Hey LunaStick. I saw poor white people in Spring Hope are voting for Obama this morning. Simply one of the most amazing sights in my 59 years.

Just curious, who did you vote for in the governor's race?
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
It was a tough choice nashcounty. Fellow NCer Older&Wiser sent me a link a couple weeks ago about Perdue that was a very strong argument against her. On the other hand, she quit being so negative and Moore kept up the negativity hard which I don't like. In the end I went with Moore but it could have gone either way and I won't be upset with Bev winning.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
I am sorry to say Hillary is so much like a republican. Not only does she use their dirty tactics to try and steal the election, but she is horrible with math, just like a republican.
So we'd better not pay too much attention to her - so far none of her fuzzy math
    has turned out right.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
We have to stop electing the status quo. That is what we have with Pelosi and Reid and Hoyer. They simply want more of the same and will never rock the boat. They want to sit on a nice quiet pond with no waves. Whether they are the party in power or not means nothing they simply want to float along, enjoy their two martini dinner with a couple of lobbyists, take their bag of cash home and wake up the next day and do it all over. I am sick of these hearings where nothing is ever decided, concluded or agreed to. It is all like Kabuki Theatre, they dress as our representatives but are really there for themselves. Hillary wants to be President and doesn't care what the people want. McCrazy wants to be President so he simply says anything that pops into his swiss cheese for a brain, head. The Dem Party don't know whether to shit or wind their watch. It is all a joke and if the party believes this is what America wants they are wrong. I want a strong party, a party that would have fought tooth and nail to keep the Supreme Court out of the Gore debacle, hell even Gore didn't want to fight that. I want a party that would have investigated the voting irregularities during Kerry's win but they were all, including Kerry, missing in action. The charade has to stop, Americans want representation, we want Healthcare, a balanced budget and our troops home from the insanity of the Middle East. We don't need to save $25 through an impossible to pass Gas Tax bill. We don't need more sabre rattling. America is getting more like the Russia of Regan's years than Russia was. Enough already or all you meatheads in Washington better be prepared for the fall out.
  • Smarmy · 1 year ago
I heard on some teevee show last night: the parties in America are the republican party, the democratic party, and the Clinton party. The Clintons have become like little Hitlers in this great nation. And we the people have let them. How can we sweep it clean from these Clintons? I despise both of them at this point.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
The Clintons must be purged from the Democratic Party.

They're nothing but bad news for the Democrats.

Even when they won the White House, they lost seats in the House and the Senate and the Governorships.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Tracey Ullman used to do a very funny character on "Tracey Takes On". The woman was a really big haired Baptist bitch who formed a "We Hate Hillary" Club...and her daughter had a "We Hate Chelsea" Club, too. Their dog was named Deuteronomy. The sketches were hilarious.... ahem...ah...maybe she was clairvoyant.

Decent people are always at a disadvantage. They want to avoid conflict, seek to compromise and think of the common good. We often wonder how countries could end up like Nazi Germany or other dictatorships. It is the willingness of one party, one person or one interest group to threaten ultimate destruction of the country, party or society in order to gain their own way. Too often, those who think of the common good will shrink away from the battle fearing what the fallout may be.

We saw George Bush consistently use this tactic. The Democrats have consistently backed down even though the obvious results endanger our very democracy. We see Hillary willing to threaten the party in order to secure the nomination or to put herself in a position to run against McCain in the next election.

The math makes it fairly clear that Clinton cannot win. The damage to Obama has been considerable. However, the super delegates and party leaders fail to weigh in. Had the matter been settled earlier, Clinton could have been a VP candidate to create the dream ticket. We all know that that can not happen now.

It is time for the Democrats to develop some courage and to truly balance the costs and benefits of their inaction. Besides, do we really want to turn our party into a party utilizing Republican tactics against each other?

i feel good, too. i think it's all going to work out for the best.
we have a choice, finally. everyone knows that.
    that's the difference this time.
and there are too many of us paying close attention now.
  • Patriot · 1 year ago
Howard Dean is still snakebit after yelling "booya" from 4 years ago and having to watch it a hundred times from the media. As for congress, I can think of any number of reasons why they might cower from the Clintons and all are pathetic reasons.

The Clintons have more skeletons in the closet and past shameful behavior than the majority of anyone else in congress. So, why do they get free pass after free pass and how in the hell do they create this apatheic, sniveling fear from their collegues?! Somebody, preferably 60 minutes, tell us why this is.
  • Hawk · 1 year ago
Well, since the GOP Freak Show has made up the well dumped Clinton ground since Super Tuesday, she can join Lieberman, Reid and Pelosi to create the "screw the people" party.
    Where'd the center go?
I'll be an idependent next year thank you.
  • johnosahon · 1 year ago
oh lord, John has OFFICIALLY denounced and rejected hilary.

    YEE-PEE.
  • ericgoldman · 1 year ago
I've got nothing. Can't accuse anyone of putting an unfair, negative spin on that one.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of chutzpah -- I think it's a terrific quality in a President -- and I admit to having respect for her tenacity and her willingness to constantly push the envelope and constantly re-invent herself, but she said what she said and she'll have to take her lumps.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Yeah, and we're right here to keep the "slam" on with you.
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
Hillary constantly reinventing herself is admirable?

hmmm. Not for me. It is highly unsettling. If my boyfriend kept changing what I think are his core good qualities, I would dtmfa.

I thought it was 2025= ding ding ding *the winner*!!!

How many total delegates are there? Does 2025= 51%? Or more? Anyone know?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
You know, I'm not sure at which point I will lose total and all respect for the Clintons, but I can tell you it's hanging on by only a few threads at this point. Just waiting to see at what point it snaps....

    Sigh...
  • caphillprof · 1 year ago
Go look at yourself in a mirror and contemplate on what you are saying and I predict you'll witness those few threads snapping.

Yes, let there be war. I'm ready for the Partry to be destroyed if the rules have to be changed to favor a family that is clinging to the throne. Let's make a mess.

I'm with John A., bring on the Democratic civil war! I live outside Colorado, but I have a friend living near Denver and I drive a Prius -- yes, I'm one of those liberal "elites" and a netroots nerd -- so I won't hesitate to drive myself and others 1000 miles to Denver in August to demonstrate for three days straight during the convention. If Hillary steals the nomination, I'll burn stuff, I'll spit on cops, I'll do whatever to proudly get myself arrested. When I'm released from jail, I'll drive home, write letters, make phone calls, join more protests and get arrested again. As Obama goes, so goes my affiliation with this stupid, loser party. If the nomination is taken from him, I'll re-register as an Independent but I won't go quietly.

Queen Hillaria wrathfully addresses the convocation of (It Takes a) Village Elders: "Do you dare to exclude all the subject peoples of my vast empire? My faithful subjects in both of my peninsular realms will instigate rebellions that will awaken my Foremother, Hephestia, the terrifying Volcano Goddess, who will belch shower upon shower of molten lava upon you should you presume to question my authority and the undying love shown to me by the People of the Peninsulas! Let the voice of my peninsular people be heard: their undying loyalty to me, their Queen, shall not be trifled with!"
  • jennifers · 1 year ago
You are so damn reasonable and thoughtful with your posts - but I am finally at a point where I am so happy you have unleashed your anger, and in agreement with someone who is outraged at the Clinton machine - I've never seen you write with such anger at the Dems, and it is so well deserved by them. I'm with you - I cannot take this crap anymore. She wants to make it a war? Well I'm with you on this one. There was a time when I might have accepted her as the nominee. Now I never will. An destructive, self-serving force to the entire party. What a shame.
  • DougStamate · 1 year ago
First: "I'd love nothing better than to see an all-out war in the Democratic Party, instigated by Hillary and Bill Clinton".
Then: "...I welcome a Democratic civil war..."
Finally: "If it takes spending the rest of this year attacking Hillary instead of John McCain, then so be it."
If there's a civil war in the Democratic party, I know where it really started...
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
The woman has lost her mind completely! That's good though. We need the world to see she'll stop at nothing to get her way. Hey, she's out of money and momentum. She's already put in $11mil of her own money! Yeah, go tell that to the good folks of Ohio and Penn--she ain't elite!

Another good note: She's done in the Dem party for good.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Hey folks, let's not be like the talking heads! Black folks are not the only ones that will rebel against Hillary. Let's keep that in mind, otherwise it becomes a racial "thing".
  • jfarley3382 · 1 year ago
You guys have lost all respect of real Democrats, women and civil people across this country. You are now no better than the hateful and spineless right wing that has brought our country to the brink of ruin. You can hate Hillary and Bill and all those who support her but you have deluded yourself into believing Obama is a saint. He is apparently a good guy but he is not one of the "regular guys" you make him out to be. He is a politician and I'm afraid he may not be our President because of the hate that exist in this country. I'm so sorry that you all have dreamt yourselves into a corner of ideology that doesn't exist. What is the difference between you all and the neo-cons, - sadly, nothing of substance.
