  • dogeatdogi · 1 year ago
At this rate of destruction it's going to end up Hillary Clinton, senate Minority leader
  • sittenpretty · 1 year ago
NYT had to perform the Heimlich maneuver on itself...upchuck Hill
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
As good as that editorial is, it will not affect Clinton. Nothing affects Clinton, she is like a demon from hell. The party elders need to step in and smack her., The super delegates NEED to give up their cautious positions and declare, one way or the other.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
JesusHChrist, Matthews just said, Obama is still in it, as if Clinton just walked away as the top dog.

Suddenly, were supposed to believe that the NY Times got it right?

    Make up my minds, dahlings.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
I am sorry to say, but those so called "bitter" voters, just didn't understand that Obama was standing up for them, and voted instead for the real elitist in the race. The Elitist, who is worth over a hundred million dollars, and backed her husband's grand NAFTA policy.

This NYT article is very interesting, and unfortunately, those bitter voters, just do not read these articles. They remind me of the Bush voters, who got taken in by Bush's vicious attacks against Gore and Kerry. Look what they got now!

Lenny Davis was on Faux News earlier today sugesting that Dean was behind the cancellation of the debate in NC (I wouldn't call it a cancellation) and should resign. I hope Dean doesn't stand for this. She is making enemies.

I am shocked. I really thought it would be A LOT closer. I am still hoping at 100% reporting, Clinton wins in single digits. This 10-point margin is unsettling.

Clinton has been on the attack since Ohio and Texas, so Obama needs to realise that Clinton is the GOP and treat her as such.

  • vwcat · 1 year ago
I thought the same, that it came very close to unendorsing her.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
I think it's odd that Clinton's surrogates said she need to win by a 200,000 vote margin, and presto, that's the current margin. Hmmm.......

  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Nigel

I agree with you. I thought it would be closer.

    Tomorrow's bobblehead fodder:

"Why is Obama letting Abercrombie & Fitch advertise at his speeches? Are they official campaign contributers, or just fashionable friends?
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
The NYT cannot have made a mistake.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Sage

You are right,. Poll after poll says that Hillary's base is older Americans and workers making less than $50,000, most don't read the NYT.

Howard Fineman just said that Elizabeth Edwards is expected to support HIllary Clinton in NC. THat is going to be critical to Obama, Edwards is very respected.

I am a gay man and I want to have someone I vote for speak about Gay Rights. Call that pandering--Ok. But, don't expect me to like voting for someone who is not pandering to the Gay Rights movement. Maybe Hillary is pandering by saying she believes Gay Rights are Human Rights internationally and that the treatment of homosexuals is important globally for the united states. Maybe she is pandering by saying that if a straight man can get the women he loves citizenship in the US, Gay men should be allowed to get citizenship for their life partner. And you could see that Gay men know that she is for them. Did you see hillary's speech? She had a bunch of gay men behind her with hillary pride banners. I want a candidate who panders to us.

    Listen up Obama:

You have to win elections with the politics you have, not the politics you want.

  • constantcomment · 1 year ago
woo woo!!! down to -11 with all the obamaheads not seeing the forest for the trees.

Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee.
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
Obama, once again, congratulates Hillary on the win in Pa.

Tell me, Clinton supporters, when has she EVER congatulated Obama for a primary win? Ever? I really want to know. Because this is a character issue for me, seriously.

    good on you Barack.
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Clinton is not running a 2008 race, she knows that is lost, but she understands that she can prepare for the 2012 race with what she does now. She needs a disaster in the White House to insure her 2012 bid. She knows that McCain is who she wants to run against in 2012. Dragging it out will not give her the 2008 race but it will continue to roadblock Obama. Obama is hampered by the fact that while Clinton can afford and even desires to fracture the Democrat vote he must avoid the loss of any Democrat vote.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I'm sorry, but in any other universe going from a 20 point lead to 10 point lead when she needed a 20 PLUS blowout would be considered a losing battle. She needed to have a blow out and SHE DIDN'T. Much as the media would like to award her some sort great victory because she squeeked out a ten point victory she LOST ten points in over a month. She LOST ten points even with all her negativity against Obama. This should be the overriding message!
  • constantcomment · 1 year ago
shanobama, good god, where have you been??
  • GrahamCrackerDC · 1 year ago
"She LOST ten points even with all her negativity against Obama"

Actually, she won by ten points in spite of the fact that Obama out-spent her 3 to 1.

Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee. Guaranteed.
  • constantcomment · 1 year ago
reverse the situations. say barack was behind and not likely to get the nomination. would you be cheering for him to quit???
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
"reverse the situations ...would you be cheering for him to quit"

absolutely. the goal is to depose the neocons. nothing should get in the way.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
the editorial doesn't care for Obama's Annie Oakley comment, but i thought it was pretty good-natured. Agreed, his 'cling to guns' comment was a youthful mistake, but then he hit the right tone with Annie Oakley thing.
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
sorry cc, but tell me, has Hillary ever congratulated her Dem opponent? Because she certainly has praised McCain. She has run a really dirty campaign and that is why she is losing.

Did you ever hear the saying, its not whether you win or lose it is how you play the game? This is what the NYT is saying here.

Not the win at any cost game that Hillary is playing. Because she has hurt herself-(I used to like her, no more)-but she has changed my opinion by the creepy tone, in the debates and elsewhere. It is not win at any cost when you both belong to the same party and know you have a big contest ahead to beat the Republicans nationally.

If she really wants the Dems to win in November she has to not only call off the dogs, but stop being a dog.
  • gonzalez · 1 year ago
Once again I must state that the democrats we have now in power do not have the courage to do anything that needs to be done- with few wxceptions such as Governor Richardson and some otheres. It is true here in Illinois as well as the whole nation. THERE IS NO COURAGE THERE! When are we going to get it. Just look at Congress!
