Things that make you go hmmmm....
  • Jim Olson · 10 months ago
Amazing. The President made a joke, and my instant reaction was NOT to scream ASSHOLE.
  • Lee from NC · 10 months ago
Funny stuff. It's been a long time since I laughed at something the President said. Somewhere around 8 years, give or take a disaster or two.
  • John Aravosis · 10 months ago
Exactly, and ditto Jim Olson. He made me laugh. Been eight years since a president made me laugh.

: Fw: Free Food for Animals

    Hi Everyone!

Please do this for the sake of abused, neglected and abandoned animals that the Animal Rescue Society care for. IT COSTS NOTHING TO YOU!

    Thanks so much,

    Heather

A Free Good Deed you can do for Animal Rescue

Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple... Please tell ten friends to tell ten today!

The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.

It takes less than a minute (How about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know:

After 8 horrendous years of the demonic Buffoon/Ass/Idiot/Stumblebum/Nitwit-in-Chief, I'm not yet ready to laugh at any president. Brings back very, very disgusting, sick, revolting, painful momories I'd rather forget. Sorry Obama, save the jokes until I've had more time heal.

I don't like the line about teaching profanity to "poor children". It's insensitive to the plight of "poor children". It sounds like something Bush would say. Obama needs to be smarter and better than that.
  • Lolis · 10 months ago
i like it. in a way, it implies rich kids need no lessons in profanity.
  • moreleesafer · 10 months ago
yeah, I first heard it on the news this morning and was taken aback for a sec. then I got it. it is a poke at the rich kids/republican morals.
  • Ella Disenchanted · 10 months ago
I know, that one sort of stung. Doesn't sound like him actually. I'm not sure what the point was? Maybe that that's the kind of stuff "They" are saying about Rahm? I feel like I"m missing the joke.
  • example · 10 months ago
Eh, I don't find it that funny. For one thing, you can't tell the same joke a million times, which is exactly what has happened with "Rahm Emanuel swears a lot" joke. I've probably heard like a hundred variations on that joke.
  • DAB · 10 months ago
Wow, quite a few humor-challenged people commenting here tonight. I thought his comments were funny. Yeah, we've heard variations on "Rahm Emanuel swears a lot" -- but we still hear variations on "Bill Clinton can't keep his zipper zipped" that they still get a laugh. And all this analysis of joke about teaching poor kids profanity -- please! As EB White observed, analyzing humor is like dissecting a frog. Few people are interested and the frog dies of it.

This made me laugh. Thanks for posting. How refreshing to laugh with the president instead of at him.
  • Same crap, different a-hole · 10 months ago
The joke about Robert E Lee being confused, was that to say that Lee was a racist and would be confused that Obama was pres, or was that a joke about old people being senile?

And the 'poor kids' comment felt like something the old guard would have said. That was not the kind of humor I expected from Big O.

I really hope that he did a few minutes worth of jokes, and these are the ones that the media grabbed to report on, to make a story.
  • moreleesafer · 10 months ago
nope, the Rober E Lee joke was not about alzheimers. it was about the fact that he would be shocked to see a black man at the podium, not serving as a waiter. ya know. in theyr PROPER place.
  • paulbe · 10 months ago
A joke about arresting Rahm for espionage and sticking him in a cell with Johnathan Pollard would be cute.
  • Mike Z · 10 months ago
You guys are rediculous. He said Rahm was "giving back to the community." When you give back, it's to the poor, not the rich, hence Rahm is "giving back" to "poor children."

    Stop being so sensitive!
