Not to be outdone, this morning, John McCain started growing a walrus mustache, insisting "I'm Mr. Monopoly, damn it! I won ten dollars in a beauty contest! You kids get off my damn Boardwalk!"

Interesting approach. It'll be cool to see if or how well this works.

Do XBox ads change over time, or will these ads be running long after the election?

i think they are the online games.

VERY cool! I'm tempted to go turn on the kids video games to drive around and look for Obama billboards :-)

Just to anticipate the inevitable overblown hysteria of negative criticism from Fox News - there's a significant percentage of voting age young people who spend more time playing video games than passivly watching TV. If they're not going to see a candidates' ads on TV< why shouldn't the candidates try to go where the potential voters are?
Oh, and McCain's people are scared sh*tless because they didn't think of it first. Like they could've.

I wonder what the demographics are for Xbox users?

Damn, smart! That's the kind of thinking I want in the Oval Office!
(Actually any kind of thinking would be nice....)

Okay, so here I go dating myself...how the heck do these ads appear in a game on an Xbox? Don't you have to buy game programs to run on the machine? Is there some kind of "live" connection to download such things during play?
Bush_Bites

Ha!
That's what I'm guessing, but I'm also too old to know for sure.

XBox 360 is a live game, so when you start the game up, you enter an online community and you play the game with a bunch of other people. People wear headsets, and they talk to each other while playing. I've never done it, but have had boyfriends who are obsessed with it. I'm imagining since it's real time they can just change the ads. I didn't even know there were ads in Xbox Live, that's really awesome. Obama is so friggin cool...

Yeah, my nephew reports that he played the games in the pics a while back and saw no ads - so must be updated. That's brilliant marketing, on Xbox's side thinking of running ads, and Obama

According to a survey below, Obama leads McCain among xbox users, so this might be more to make sure they get off their couches and vote.
It is cool, but getting Xbox users off their couch for anything other than buying another Xbox game is tricky. Perhaps he can work in a widget to Halo 3 so they can vote without leaving the couch??????

Oh boy! CNN is talking alot about AIP and the Palins. Ouch!
(edit a couple minutes later) If you can watch CNN right now you won't be sorry. Sanchez is really on a roll. This is huge. This will be talked about for several news cycles. MSM has finally grown some.

THERE IS A GOD -- AND SHE IS HAVING SO MUCH FUN
McCain's "transition chief" used to aid Saddam Hussein.
The Washington lobbyist John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.
The two lobbyists who McCain aide William Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein's government.

This is so very cool. Am immensely proud to be a game-playing geek!
And the buzz generated for this is literally priceless. He's just bought himself oodles of free exposure. Hope this story gets on every MSM broadcast -- so wonderfully upbeat and positive. LOVE the billboard shots you posted.

The XBox ads are dynamic content - they can change at any time.
This is just so fucking brilliant. The previous comment about 30 to 40-something guys playing these games is absolutely true. I've got gamer friends who might end up voting for Obama simply because this is so cool.
And I was going to mention Betty White's interview with Craig Ferguson, but another poster beat me to it. Here's the link if you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IerAzVmA9LU

Have you heard? McCain has followed Obama's lead and is running his own in-game advertising campaign. Czech out the examples here: http://tinyurl.com/4bppkw
