OT:
Some good news.
First, their two flagship papers (Chicago Trib and LA Times) endorse Obama. Now this:
Tribune Company has given a two-year notice to the Associated Press that its daily newspapers plan to drop the news service, becoming the first major newspaper chain to do so since the recent controversy over new rates began.
Tribune, which owns nine daily papers including the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune, joins a growing list of newspapers that have sought to end AP contracts, or given notice of that, following plans to introduce a new controversial rate structure in 2009. The notice was given earlier this week.
Wow...glad to see Minneapolis Star Tribune in that list they have gone way to the Right since the publisher of Pioneer Press took over in the past year.

I want to see one example of hate from an Obama rally and "boos" do not count. Just one, John McCain!

Since when are outside signs allowed at rallies? Never. The handmade signs are always made by the campaign and given out -- they don't want outside signs because they want to control the message.
Could the McCain campaign have created this sign?

Why isn't the Secret Service doing something about these fascists? Of course, I mean the Palins...send their trashy, un-American asses back to Alaska.
The Palins are going to be a one term First Family, if they survive recall, that is. Are the actual natives in Alaska being organized in any way and what is their percentage of the 685,000 population there?
This is the latest poll I've seen that contains Palin's ratings in Alaska. It's at the bottom of the page. Not very encouraging, though

The sign looks very well printed. I guess my retort would be "Lenin was a POW".
If this campaign accomplishs nothing more than showing America and the world the bigotry and stupidity of Americans it has been worth it. Like McCain's comments about sharing wealth being socialism which exposes once and for all the belief that the rich deserve all their money and we the people can wait for the trickle down. Unfortunately what has been trickling down is out of McCain's diaper. The absolute arrogance of the Republicans and the stupidity of the people who continue to vote against their own best interests is astounding and discouraging. It is signs like the one shown above that will truly separate for all time the rich and poor in this country. I can't wait for Obama to get his hand on the flush handle and put all these right wing bigots into the big septic tank in the sky.

good point. He does not even have a college education, and she just recieved her first passport several months ago. This is what we have come to, and it is directly mirroring our education level in this country. If we keep on this path, I fear our nation will go down as Rome did, and fairly quickly once the Chinese decide to collect on their loan. The republicans are fiddling while we burn. It saddens me.

Before their blood on the streets of this country ...our president, yes I mean G. W. Bush, needs to step up to the plate, be a statesman and tell McCain to back off! Maybe then he could leave office with a little honor and decency!
But all the country gets is silence from the White House...
Maybe its time for the Secret Service to step in, kick some ass and tell the republican fascist to cool it ...before one or more of there agents gets hurt or worst!
It looks as if the republican fascist have no shame!
Or maybe their just fearful of what will happen to each of them should a democratic get into office and accountable become the cry of the land!

So, let me get this straight-- Someone makes a sign comparing Obama to Charles Manson. In 1975, one of Manson's followers, Squeaky Fromme, was planning to assassinate President Ford by pointing a loaded gun at him until stopped by the Secret Service. Nice. Really nice. These people are crackpots.

I had a feeling, just before I watched it, that it would be Duluth. I grew up in Duluth, so seeing this is not all that shocking. Duluth is very much a bubble. People rarely leave there, and when they do everyone is an "outsider". You are not allowed to have any kind of pride in anything or people look at you like you think you are better than them. I'm sure they look at Palin and her snowmobiling successionist of a husband as just like them....which if they had half a brain would understand is insulting. Believe me, they have all fallen for it...or at least my entire family has. This is why I can't go home for X-mas anymore. Last year, because I am left of center, I was literally called "a terrorist who likes to see babies killed." I am not kidding. So no...not a shock here.

Speaking of murderers and terrorists, you want to know who is friends with terrorists? Joe Lieberman. On July 20, 2008, he met with the wife of Eduardo Arocena, a convicted terrorist serving life plus 35 years in federal prison for a series of murders and a string of bombings in New York City in the 70’s & 80’s. He agreed to personally deliver a written plea for clemency for Arocena to George W. Bush, who can commute the sentence of anyone he pleases before noon on January 20, 2008. This is a pretty serious charge against McCain’s BFF, so let’s document it. First, who is Arocena? From the opinion of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in United States v. Arocena 778 F.2d 943, 944-945 (2nd Cir. 1985) "Although this lengthy record of the criminal activities of the leader of a terrorist group raises no questions serious enough to require much discussion, the unusual nature and extent of the activities merit a published account. Arocena, an escapee from Castro’s Cuba, was the kingpin in a secret terrorist organization comprised of exiles and emigres dedicated to overthrowing the Castro regime. This group, called “Omega 7,” sought to carry out their mission through bombings and murders, crimes that they financed by assisting drug traffickers and through extortion. The Omega 7 activities were directed primarily by Arocena, as he detailed in his lengthy confessions to the FBI. Although Arocena repudiated these confessions at trial, and instead advanced fantastic stories of his alleged mistreatment by the Government, the case against him was heavily supported by tape-recorded conversations between Arocena and an FBI agent, by the testimony of eighty-five witnesses, and by other physical and forensic evidence. "From 1975 to 1982, Omega 7 conducted a series of bombings in the New York metropolitan area that injured bystanders and damaged homes, businesses, and a church. The bombsites included Avery Fisher Hall, Madison Square Garden, JFK Airport, the ticket office of Aeroflot (the Soviet airline), and the Cuban Mission to the United Nations. Omega 7 also engineered the machine-gun murders of Cuban exile Eulalio Jose Negrin and Felix Garcia, a Cuban diplomat, and attempted a car-bombing murder of Raul Roa, another Cuban diplomat. " So, why would I say, Joe Lieberman is friends with this terrorist? Here’s a youtube video of Lieberman talking to Aroceno’s wife; at about the 3:30 point, he says, “"It’s my responsibility, it’s my responsibility. I will carry it [the pardon request] back. I will carry it back. Yeah. I feel...I think of you like you were my family.... I’ll bring it back. I’ll do my best.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nyo46ELtrx0&eurl... After reports surfaced that Lieberman had agreed to press the clemency request on behalf of the convicted bomber and murderer, see, for example these reports on slate, the havana note and the cuban triangle: http://www.slate.com/id/2202183/ http://thehavananote.com/2008/07/lieberman_to_s... and http://cubantriangle.blogspot.com/2008/07/more-...
the Miami Herald asked Lieberman’s office about this. From http://miamiherald.typepad.com/cuban_colada/200... Miami Herald dot com "Arocena’s wife. Miriam, appeared at a news conference in Little Havana Tuesday to urge Cuban exiles and others to sign a petition she and her supporters are planning to send to Bush soon. She also said that she had forwarded letters to Bush and his wife Laura through Sen. Joe Lieberman who visited the Bay of Pigs museum in Little Havana July 20 while campaigning for John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate. Lieberman’s office confirmed the meeting but said the senator has no position on the issue. “Senator Lieberman does not intervene in criminal proceedings including requests for pardons,’’ according to Scott Overland, a Lieberman spokesman. “The correspondence was merely forwarded without any comment, endorsement or support whatsoever.” The White House declined comment, and the Justice Department in general discussed its process to review clemency requests. " So: 1. Lieberman admits taking the clemency request from Miriam Arocena; 2. is on video tape telling Mrs. Arocena that “I will carry it back. Yeah. I feel...I think of you like you were my family.... I’ll bring it back. I’ll do my best.” 3. and then claims that “[t]he correspondence was merely forwarded without any comment, endorsement or support whatsoever.” What. Mrs. Arocena just didn’t have $0.42 for a postage stamp, and Joe was headed that way anyhow? Do you think Lieberman would personally deliver a request for clemency on behalf of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to the White House after telling Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s family, “I’ll do my best.” You bet he would, if it would get his BFF McCain 27 electoral votes. I’ll leave G. Gordon Liddy to someone else.

The best part of that Independent article was Norm Coleman invoking the name of Charlton Heston and Norm's father being buried at Arlington National Cemetery and how they were "together, looking down now."
Would this be your father, Norm, who was cited by the St. Paul police in 2006 (when he was 81 years old) for lewd and disorderly conduct for having sex in a vehicle outside a St. Paul pizza place with a woman 43 years his junior?

LOL, McBush and Failin are IDIOTS in every sense of the word. McBush is a proven LIAR (Just liek Dictator Bush) and his word means NOTHING.
Since this guy believes that Manson is bad, I am sure he would be interested in Vincent Bugliosi, the man who put Manson behind bars. Mr. Bugliosi thinks that someone else should be prosecuted for murder: George W. Bush. Here is a youtube video of Mr. Bugliosi:
Can anyone truly believe these idiots?!They think that this type of politics is working for them.As we all know that is simply moronic! they will never stop making the same kind of "I'm not paying attention" type gaffs especially if they somehow maraculously make it close to the whitehouse this type of behavior will multiply and they will let it snowball into an international incident. At the least Sen.Obama has an even disposition unlike hothead Mccain't bomb, bomb, bomb who?The middle class!!!

Folks don't get cocky. The latest Zogby tracking poll (which NewsMax is emailing everywhere) shows Obama only up by 2 points. Considering the momentum that seems to be going Obama way this seems worrisome. So keep working, keep knocking on doors, keep talking up Obama and disputing the propaganda the Rethugs are putting out. Offer someone a ride to the polls. Keep working until the polls close November 4th
OgreRecordsOnline
Oh, I am not cocky. That is why I am working every day on my Myspace page with these types of stories. My only point was that I would welcome this type of debate with anyone. A McCain/Palin supporter was comparing Obama with Charles Manson. It would seem logical that this guy thinks that Charles Manson is bad. Therefor he should hold the man who put him behind bars, Vincent Bugliosi in high esteem as a Manson authority. Guess what? Mr. Bugliosi thinks that George W. Bush should be prosecuted for murder! In fact, not only did he write a book of the same title, he is also willing to offer his assistance to any prosecutor with enough guts to bring the case!! Murder has no statue of limitations, so this is something that could haunt Bush at any time. Of 105 felony cases that Mr. Bugliosi has tried he has won 104. He has got the death penalty of anyone he has ever sought it for (Manson and company were all originally sentenced to die before California overturned the death penalty). Mr. Bugliosi also thinks that Bush should be executed.
Not surprisingly, Mr. Bugliosi has been blackened by the mainstream media. However, if these morons really want to bring Charles Manson into the presidential debate, it would only seem logical that Bugliosi would be in the lime light again. When in that position, I doubt he would spare words about what he feels should be done with George W. Bush, with legal facts and reference to back up his case. In a way, it is a shame that this story did not receive more publicity than it did.
