Screw the damned Republicons (on second thought -- ick). They've been out in full display the past couple of weeks and it's been disgraceful. The whole damned lot of them should be ashamed to even come out in public.

It is morally repugnant to profit off the misery or ill health of Americans. It's criminal that medical bills to private for-profit MEDICAL/INSURANCE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX make up 62% of all bankruptcies filed in the U.S. each year. The overhead at private for-profit MEDICAL/INSURANCE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX is upwards of 35% of the healthcare dollar spent each year in the U.S. This allows the private for-profit MEDICAL/INSURANCE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX to pay for their lavish lifestyles and huge salaries plus perks and bonuses. All the while milking the hard-working men/women of this great nation of their hard earned money. On the other hand Medicare has an overhead of 2%, Canada's system is 1.5%, Europe's 2.5% on average. The money that could be saved by eliminating the private for-profit MEDICAL/INSURANCE INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX is estimated at $500 Billion a year. Enough money to help pay for putting all Americans on MEDICARE/SINGLE PAYER TYPE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
We have to fight back and call, write e-mails, letters-to-editors and to Congress to let them know how Americans feel about for-profit health care in America. Here are some Senators who are wrong on Health Care reform. Give them a call and demand, "MEDICARE/SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE FOR ALL NOW!"
Joe Lieberman I-CT, Chuck Grassley R-IA, Lindsey Graham R-SC, Susan Collins R-ME, Olympia Snowe R-ME, David Vitter R-LA, Saxby Chambliss R-GA, Tom Coburn R-OK, Jon Kyl R-AZ, John Thune R-SD, Richard Lugar R-IN, Jim DeMint R-SC Jeff Sessions R-AL, Richard Shelby R-AL, Mel Martinez R-FL, John McCain R-AZ, Mitch McConnell R-KY, Jim Inhofe R-OK, Lamar Alexander R-TN, Dick Burr R-NC, John Cornyn R-TX

Nothing rattles the Congress more than voters ringing the phones off the hook. Call the House, Senate and the White House and demand, "MEDICARE/SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE FOR ALL NOW!"

Wow, you know our economy is screwed up and does not reward intelligence and hard work when dumbasses like Rahm Emmanuel are employed with full time jobs when there is a real unemployment rate of 16.5%.

From the small amount of specifics I've seen on the House Health care bill the Fix is In even without the repugs having to do anything. OsameO has betrayed those who trusted him to address reform honestly -- roll out by 2013, nothing but a fraud.

Ahem... The GOP excuse... "We weren't consulted!" "Our ideas weren't heard!" "We were ignored!" "WAAAAAAAAAAH!!" Thus the GOP excuse. Never mind that at no time did they ever put forward any real ideas worthy of looking at.

"Republicans want Obama to fail." It just that they HAVE to oppose Obama for their own good.
There are only three outcomes: a) they oppose Obama and no health care reform happens, b) they oppose Obama and reform happens, c) they support Obama and reform happens.
a) would be the best possible world. They would protect their corporate interests AND get to say that Obama FAILED!
b) would be bad, but they could still suck up to their corporate interests as being on their side, AND they could still claim that Obama FAILED!!
c) is the worst option. their interests get clipped, and any failure they push on Obama leaks back to them.
so oppose away !

How the hell would Democrats be taking "a partisan route" to enacting legislation when it's Republicans who as a bloc refuse to enage? I wish our side would reject that frame.

the democrats presumably presented a helth care reform package that would be paid for partially by cutting medicare and medicaid benefits. are you kidding? I cant afford medicare or medicaid now. I am in the "gap" and my meds are eating me alive. wow

I am on board with the two ideas, the one suggested by the President Obama: Based on a new report that details how much waste and inefficiency there is in medicare, how best practices are not always used, how many billions of dollars could be saved, the independent groups of doctors and medical experts to oversee long-term cost saving measures every year force congress to make sure that they are acting on these recommendations to bend the cost curve each and every year. The other idea echoed by New York Times; "Meanwhile, it will be important to get some guaranteed fast savings from the health care industries by cutting and reallocating hundreds of billions of dollars from projected spending on Medicare and Medicaid...Just to be sure, Congress ought to establish a fail-safe mechanism that could impose additional cuts after a few years if savings are less than projected." I agree that In the near-term, this type of accountability will ensure that health reform legislation is fiscally responsible and fully financed. In the long-term, it will make certain that our health system, especially Medicare, is sustainable for generations to come. As we can see, the runaway premiums led to collapse in the middle class and housing market / financial market. In that case, top priority should be to restore the struggling middle class. Consumer confidence might be the most crucial element and boost in hiring process as we experienced in recent years. In case the health care reform provides the general public with peace of mind, the rising mental stress or illness caused by financial instability may bend the curve surprisingly, in combination with kicking out the 'keep eating habit' to forget the deep-seated instability and apprehension, I guess. 'Work or Break' health system with no brake or safety system might be one of the biggest hidden causes of mental stress, obesity or overweight threatening the overall economy, I cautiously suppose.
