AMERICAblog: Obama: McCain thinks president can't do anything about the economic crisis

  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Wow, do they not remember when he thought the economic crisis wasn't as serious, he SUSPENDED his campaign, flew to Washington and kept repeating "all hands on deck!" Uh, so now the story is he must remain disengaged from the economy and focus on debunked lies against Obama, huh? Oh, I get it now.

By the way, this IS a much better video of Sarah Palin getting booed. The booing was sustained, and louder than the original link that was posted. I found this link from the comments below and was taken via cell phone from above the speakers where the speakers were directed away from the person filming so that the sustained boos can be heard above the jacked up music they attempted to use to mask her unfriendly welcome by the hockey fans.

Jacked up music to cover a crowd booing?

Leni Riefenstahl would be so proud!

At the end of that video, a woman can be heard saying "What a terrible start to the season!"

    Priceless.

Hockey may be a redneck activity in Alaska, I don't know, but hockey is a sport that is VERY popular at the Ivy League schools like Yale, Harvard, Cornell. Cold climate universities with very long hockey traditions. Yale hockey is nearly as popular as football. And it's played by gentlemen. The Ivy League rules are very strict about high sticking, and violence on the ice...it is not allowed. Caribou Barbie's handlers done picked the WRONG sport for throwing out the first puck. A northeastern hockey crowd has some decidedly NON WHITE TRASH in the stands.

As always, Frank Rich is brilliant today. The op-ed, however, is very scary. Apparently the race baiting of Caribou Barbie is planned and condoned by McSame.

I think it is true that as candidates there is very little they can do concerning the current crisis BUT the big difference is that Obama is talking about the economy and encouraging people to have hope and reminding people that as Americans we can get through this, together---that is a leader, that is a president.

The Republicans blast Obama for giving "pretty speeches". It is too bad they have a lack of understanding the human spirit.

aquarius, you just described BHO very well - "he is talking and encouraging people" - this is what the community organizers do well. However, to get us out of this mess, we need much more than talking - we need action, and McCain is working on resolving this crisis. He was the one who brought the issue with Fannie an Freddie in 2005, so did Bush, but they were shut up by loud moths accusing them in racism, and now the same people who got us in this mess are "resolving it". BHO received the second largest contribution from theses guys , and the first largest recipient was also your man - Democrat. Also see below and tell me if this is not a conflict of interests and corruption: 1. Barney Frank Hit Over Boyfriend’s Fannie Mae Role
Critics are crying “conflict of interest” over Democratic Rep. Barney Frank’s live-in relationship with Fannie Mae executive Herb Moses while Frank was on the House Banking Committee.
Moses was Fannie Mae’s assistant director for product initiatives from 1991 to 1998.
He was also openly gay Frank’s live-in boyfriend during that time, while the Massachusetts lawmaker was on the committee that had jurisdiction over government-sponsored Fannie Mae, Fox News’ Bill Sammon reported.
Now that Fannie Mae is at the center of the recent financial meltdown, the relationship is coming under increased scrutiny.
“It’s absolutely a conflict,” said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute.
“He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?
“But everyone wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard.”
