and add the following to his text...

And by keeping her as SoS, and Billy out there doing our bidding, she cannot get her claws into the Senate to fuck up my plans.
  • theWalrus · 12 months ago
Don't worry. Unless a lightening bolt strikes them with a large dose of "stick-togetherness", there will probably be plenty of Senate Dems willing to go screw up Obama's "vision"-thing.

Yeah starting with Joey LIEberman, traitor asshole
  • Older_Wiser · 12 months ago
He's starting to sound "law and order-ish" there at the end.

I know practical politics requires the art of compromise, but dayum...I'm speechless.

    Hillary.

    You go, girl!

Meh, I'm not the biggest Clinton@State or Gates staying on fan. But as long as Obama is the one steering the ship and calling the shots then I guess I bow to his judgment. At least this means some of the Rumsfeld and Cheney cronies are getting dumped out of the DoD.

Unfortunately, the Gonzales-Goodling cronies are still at DOJ, in career jobs. Holder should make them write briefs in support of abortion rights and embryonic stem-cell research. Then maybe they'll quit rather than sully their consciences.

Does anyone else feel like the adults just walked into the nursery?
  • Older_Wiser · 12 months ago
Interestingly, Eric Holder mentioned crime "on the street and in the boardroom" and I'm wondering if that's a signal? Stay tuned.

Grown ups! That's a good thing.

Hillary has been an enthusiastic supporter of the war in Iraq since she voted for the 2002 authorization resolution. No doubt she is disappointed to learn that her new boss wants to (sniffle!) END it. Or SAYS that's what he wants to do.
  • 1000turtles · 12 months ago
    Really? You REALLY think that???

I say Hats Off Mrs. Clinton!!
  • Monitor_One · 12 months ago
I don't think Hillary was enthusiastic about the war, but I do think she was being political with her vote.
I believe Obama is doing what he feels he needs to do in order to bring this country together after eight years of Bush and divisiveness.
Obama will not be too far left although I trust he will end this war.
  • scottinsf · 12 months ago
I'm far from thrilled with some of the cabinet choices Obama has made but you've got to admit he's up front about his ideas and makes it pretty clear he's in charge. He's an intelligent, straight-forward guy so I trust he knows what he's doing for now. I hope his ideas and plans work out.

What a change from the past eight years.

The Status of Forces agreement will mostly govern the withdrawl timetable, and it's essentially what Obama had proposed anyway. I don't like Clinton as SoS, mostly because I think there were far more qualified people available, and she and BC carry much baggage. But I will keep an open mind as to how Hillary actually performs in the position.

Not a failure of the BushCo pretzelduncy alone! The state of the Union at present; with multiple wars, economic depression on the horizon, loss of jobs, insecurity and wolves at every door is the result of the complete failure of conservative ideology on every level, on every issue, for every challenge that the nation has faced or is facing. Any idea that conservatism can ever provide a positive contribution to the challenges this nation will confront in the future is absolutely insane.

    OT:
John, if you're out there, I don't know how happy you will be, but Foxnews is quoting you.
"In the weeks after Nov. 4, of Gay activist John Aravosis, editor of Americablog.com, called on Hollywood to shun the Sundance Film Festival, held just a few hours' drive from Salt Lake City.

"Anyone who attends Sundance is quite literally funding the enemy," he wrote. Aravosis also called for a boycott of tourism and skiing in the "Hate State of Utah.""

Expect more hate traffic coming out of Utah....

Obama cabinet picks: Cllinton White House redux fine tuned for todays problems. Fine with me. Great minds.

Fox News: Not getting spoon fed by the Bush White House any longer, so they turn to the real world instead of invented news.

<>I know we've written many, many, many times about the failure of the Bush presidency. It's going to take a long time and a lot of work to overcome the damage he's done to our country.

Not a failure, gang. The Bush presidency did what it was installed to do. That time and work to undo the damage is part of the plan. Calling Bush a failure is like criticizing John Dillinger for the lousy job he did of providing bank security.

Exactamundo! Planned chaos is THE most profitable!
  • bluestockton · 12 months ago
Wesley Clark hasn't been given a job yet, and he deserves something for having been a supporter of Obama early on. I wonder if he's going to be Secretary of Defense when Gates' year is up?

Does anyone know the name and organization of the idiot who tried to flip up Obama during his press conference -- he was digging up dirt about he and Hillary. I would like to send this guy a little message. Thanks.
