I am proud to be one of those whose little bit sent to the campaign every month contributed to his smashing the fundraising record of all time. Go Barack!

me too! and think of all the millions and millions of people who feel this way....!
That was just fantastic. I still can't believe how Fey got even the nuances of Palin' s voice.

Barry has only had one brief problem with fundraising---which was quickly solved, and the rest of the time he's brought in buckets of money each month. Now I hope he puts it to good use in the battleground states. A new, hard-hitting, concise message every day. When anyone sees a good new ad from Obama, I wish they would say so and I'd go to the website to watch it. We don't see any of the commercials here in California because Barry is waaaaaaaaay ahead.

Obama can raise all the money he wants, but if he doesn't fight really hard for this thing and nail McCain on his lying, Rove is going to walk away with this thing for a third time. And by hard I meand calling him on every lie and even showing up at McCain events saying, 'Debate. NOW! It's on, bitch'.

I've read that was his nickname during his youth. He asked relatives and friends to call him Barack when he was in college, I think, because he thought people wouldn't take him seriously if they thought his name was Barry.

I see very few Obama ads here in Denver. I am surprised because this is a "swing" state. McCain has been running negative ads non stop.

Just watched a clip over on Huff Post of Tina Fey doing Palin. It was a gag interview with "Clinton". Tina needs to win an award for her portrayal. She has the look AND the voice down pat.

Memo to Obama's campaign head: Call Cecile Richards at Planned Parenthood and hire her ad agency pronto. Their recent ad was tremendous.

But if, like here in the SW Ohio media market, McCain is lavishing that money on red state Bush country localities one could assume that Palin's bounce along with Johnny's base is as thin and tenuous as Mooselini's respect for the law and principle.

This raising political money is the only thing he does well. When Bush wants something from you he's very charming and lovey-dovey. And you're fine so long as you don't cross him, then it's all 'you're either with me or...'.
It's also remarkable how much the press is just plain ignoring Bush- they just have no interst is sucking his d*ck any longer. Of course, this is when he does his best (worst) work.

Spokesman On McCain Strategy of Campaign Lies From NBC's First Read ...
McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said this to the Politico about the increased media scrutiny of the campaign's factual claims: "We're running a campaign to win. And we're not too concerned about what the media filter tries to say about it." Basing a campaign for high office on a strategy of deliberate lies is not an issue of tactics. It calls into question the character of the candidate and his fitness for office.

WHERE IS JOE BIDEN? WHY ISN'T HE OUT THERE BEING THE ATTACK DOG? WHERE ARE THE SURROGATES FIGHTING FOR OBAMA?

I will reply to my own post concerning Obama's surrogates. Richardson, I like him, but he doesn't know how to answer questions that help to strengthen Obama. when he appeared on Late Edition Sunday. Obama's surrogates just do not know how to counter the Republican spin machine.
We are losing this battle. Democratic campaigns are appearing weak.

Gee . . . that's a lotta money. That amount of money should a LOT of beanbags. Too bad "this" isn't a game of "beanbag," but the Wimpocrat Leadership knows exactly what deal has been cut and will act accordingly. Sens. Obama and Biden will have long and completely ineffectual careers in the Senate, as will Hillary Clinton.

At least Obama seems to have closed the gap in the polls. They are dead even again. Something is working, and it seems the media is fact checking all the McCain/Pallin lies, and calling them out on it. Obama has strike first in a preventive manner, and put out a blizzard of hard hitting ads, before the swift boaters start their gutter politics.

Sorry for beng OT, but I'm hoping someone can answer this nagging question for me.
If McCain succeeds in privatizing social security to pay for his massive tax cuts for the Waltons and Hilton's, does the money the has been automatically deducted from my pay checks for over 30 years disappear, or will I get it a big refund check to invest it in a personal account? I think I know the answer, but when people realize that money that we all have been paying in will be gone, along with the promise of social security, it might change the discussion dramatically.
Also, I am seeing emails using the "socialized medicine" meme a lot lately. This can be countered very easily, by reminding people our policeman, fireman, garbage disposal, water treatment plants and sewage treatment facilities are also "socialized" under the GOP definition. (I'm sure there are many more services we can point to as well). We need to start countering their "socialized" meme with a quick reminder of what every American takes for granted that is government run and it hasn't turned us into a communist state. I'd like to see a 527 do an ad highlighting everything we enjoy as a country that is government run and then ask the obvious question- who benefits by keeping a for profit healthcare system?
Thanks for letting me rant. :)

It's amazing how much the media is downplaying Obama's historic fundraising in August. If McCain had raised a record $66 million and got a half million new donors in August, the media would have been declaring the race over.

After the Christian right killed off ALL the lower animals, who do you think they are going after next?
Don't call me naive, but doesn't these national and state polls' smell?
Majority of them got GOP and corporate media all over it.
Did they even count Atlanta, GA in the mix. My guess is NO.
Go Barack!
