AMERICAblog: Obama rebuts McCain/Gramm: "This economic downturn is not in your head"

  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Old "8 Homes McCain" wouldn't recognize an economic downturn if he had to climb over the bodies of 400 starving Americans to get into one of his 8 homes.

Is Bush working on the McCain campaign????????

The better question is "Is Bush working?"

And yes, he seems to be pushing Merkel around on this one. Please, can you tell me WHY so many people do somersaults for Bush?

He and his peeps must really have a lot of dirt on his opponents and friends...

Oh yeah Bush is working, working to destroy America's name world wide. His parting comment at the G8 convention was "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter" What in the hell is wrong with this guy?

This guy is really not merely nuts, but he's stupid and rude as well! What a maroon...

But I don't "get" why he punched the air after he gave his sensitive goodbye to all. What was that about? Was he suggesting the air was that thick because of all of our pollution, or is he that nuts or am I just that thick?

(by the way, good evening Aquarius!)

C'mon, we know why Bush needed illegal wiretaps...and it wasn't for catching Al Qaeda, well, Bush does consider Dems enemy combatants too. ;-)

what got us into this mess we , I expect, will never know. "Unleashing the forces of Capitalism" played a big part and unless controlled in the future will be magnified and erode our quality of life even greater. Ways must be emplaced to broaden the distribution of wealth at home. American style of capitalism will be opposed by economies stronger than ours. The general population shold not have to suffer. I suspect that moderation in business, not winner take all, must also be emplaced for America's future survival. The old ways will only breed wars over scare resources, and we must not take a military solution to a changing economic world.

The Jul/Aug issue of Mother Jones (some content at website) does a bang-up job explaining, in very clear terms, exactly how we got into this mess, thanks to Dr. Phil.

Jesse Helms dies and creates a vacancy for the position of Most Stupid and Clueless, Least Compassionate Rethug. Phil Gramm steps right up to take his place. Like clockwork.

The only problem with Obama's speech, is that when he says government needs to give relief for the little guy, does that mean bailing out the banks at tax payer expense, or does it mean letting those banks in trouble fail as they should for having made poor judgement calls with their investments and creating a new constotutional banking system. Details, details Obama.
If Barmey Frank gets his way with another tax payer bail out like the S&L crisis, this country will go further into debt. if Obama really wanted to help this country, then he should bring forth a bill to the floor of the Senate in which all personal debt should be forgiven in the same multy hunreds of billions in forgivness that that banks have been and are continuing to get.

I'm sure the FISA trolls will find a way to diss this excellent attack by Obama.
  • Mycelium72 · 1 year ago
Obama voted for the FISA bill. He helped protect phone companies from prosecution over their illegal aid to the Bush Administration's wiretapping programs. Moreover, it went completely unreported on this blog.

A great nation deserves the truth?

The quality of Obama's speeches is meaningless if we can't trust his actions "cmpnwtr"

So people who defend the Constitution of the United States are now called FISA trolls. OK, I'm a proud FISA troll then.
