Even though I already knew who I was voting for; seeing an actual number really drives home his plan. Hopefully, those not-to-bright folks will look at that bottom dollar and do what's best for their families and not care that it was a black man behind the idea. I know I wouldn't care as long as it kept me from eating wish sandwiches and hot bowls of steam. IJS

That's nice, but it doesn't calculate section 179 deductions and the random changes in business losses from pending litigation of the bankruptcy of clients. How am I supposed to get anything out of this? Some of us have different tax issues. Think of this: the biggest tax increase I ever got was given to me by Ronald Reagan. The biggest cut? Bill Clinton. Reagan's tax increase comes from the Self-employed Tax. Clinton's tax cut comes from raising the threshold for Section 179 deductions. Confused? You should be. But I have to deal with this crap every year. And that's where the real changes are for me. I'd like a little simplification. At least I'd like to know where I'd stand. The plans mean nothing to me, but the results do. McPain* doesn't like people like me. He wants me off his lawn. But I'm guessing Obama wants entrepreneurs like me to do well. Even if he doesn't, I'll do no worse than the Republicans who want to destroy me.

*I don't like misnaming politicians, even the ones I don't like. But I'm trying to get Mozilla to accept 'Obama' as a legitimately spelled word. Until then, I will only use McPain to reference the Republican candidate. It's only one letter off, but it still triggers Mozilla's spellchecker. It's only fair that both candidate's names should be considered to be misspelled. Or even better, that both candidate's names be considered to be spelled correctly. Your move, Mozilla.

Hmm, I tried it as married and as head of household. If I was married, I would get a $1300 tax cut. But even though I'm a single mom, I won't get a tax cut. Marriage penalty my ass.
I think John is right. Taxes should take into account high cost of living areas like the Metro DC and NYC areas. The house I currently own in northern Virginia is very different from the house I could afford in Jacksonville, FL if I was making the same amount of money.
    Oh well
