AMERICAblog: Obama up by 10 in latest NBC/WSJ poll. Palin is now biggest concern voters have about McCain.

  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Two things have sunk John McCain:

The first one he could control, the picking of Sarah Palin which shows incredible bad judgment. Had he picked someone with more knowledge and experience, he may have survived the the second thing.

The second one he had no control over, the failure of Wall Street. Oh he helped by being Bush's lap dog but he couldn't control it.

Sarah Palin "forced" to take over--ha! If McCain is elected shelld probably devote her time to popping out of dark corners yelling BOO! and praying--not for the salvation of his soul.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
In addition to the investigation into Palin changing her expense accounts regarding taking her children on trips they weren't invited on (saying they were there onofficial business) and charging the state for them, Palin will be giving a deposition on Friday in Alaska, taking time off from the campaign.

Whew! We won't have to listen to her for at least a day....AK has just less than 2 weeks to indict her...will that be the Oct. surprise?

See my comment...and if anything happens to McBush before the election and Palin is indicted, the Rethugs will have to put 2 new people in. Goodbye, Rethuglicon Party--you have overstayed your welcome.

Oops, sorry should have read before I wrote.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
    It's OK, I don't know how to copy from Yahoo! : )

And her deposition, as well as Todd's, will not be in AK, but somewhere in the lower 48.

Palin did an interview with the Situation Room on CNN this afternoon....she cannot answer a question directly...she rambles on and on and on .....by the time she's done it's impossible to know what she just said.

    Good afternoon Americablogettes:

Anyone know how the polls read for Gore and Kerry two (2) weeks before the election?

  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
McSame will have no one to blame but himself if (dare I say when) he loses to Obama. That must be eating him up inside. To get so close to your dream only to realize you screwed yourself out of it.

I feel no pity for him.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Ummm, that's a realization he's not likely to have... I doubt he's very self-aware... the comments he continues to make as well as the campaign he's run attest to that fact.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
He HAS to say that sh*t and thinks he has to campaign that way to win. The real McCain was the one pulling the mic out of the old lady's hand that said Obama was an Arab and was telling another jack*ss that Obama was a decent family man.

    He knows.......

I am so disappointed. My daughter just called to say that she voted early and voted for McCain. I asked if she was taunted, intimidated, or harrassed. I asked that she respect my vote and not taunt, intimidate, or harrass me when I vote for the next president, President Obama. I wonder where I went wrong. The possibility of a Palin presendency doesn't phase her in the least; she thinks Sarah is eloquent and quite capable to take over the helm.

My apologies to all for my kids' vote.
  • martha · 1 year ago
My 3 adult children are voting for Obama BUT I understand your pain. I have friends and neighbors who think McCain is great (MAYBE I can understand a teeny bit) but also think Palin is qualified to be president. That scares me so much and I don't understand how anyone with ANY intelligence could believe this. Sometimes I am so afraid for our country.
  • tduffy2 · 1 year ago
    Martha,

That's what really scares me. My daughter is not stupid. Granted, her Dad
always kept a photo of Reagan on the fridge and that caused some serious
stress in the marriage. After Reagan, the photo was replaced with 41 in his
bomber jacket. But, the kids were brought up in a progressive atmosphere. To
hear that she voted for McCain is a total rebuke, to me, on how she was
brought up and the values that I instilled in her. I had to cut the call
short because I was reduced to tears. Perhaps I'll feel better in two
    weeks...

Theresa - It will be OK. She will get it. I have alot of hope. I don't know, I just things people in the US, with Obama as president, may start to get together. Hang in there.

David Sedaris on Undecided Voters from The New Yorker

'To put them in perspective, I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it?”

To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.'
  • tduffy2 · 1 year ago
Yeah, and my daughter just opted for the shits and bits.

I LOVE it! Matthews is ripping the airhead Palin over her comment in a local Denver interview about her idea of what a VP does---rules the Senate and helps make policy. I said it hours ago, the woman didn't even what the hell the VP did and now she STILL doesn't know.

There is stupid and then there is totally stupid. She can hide her ignorance behind her good looks and convoluted answers but my god, an inability to learn? Surely someone has told her by now what the vp does.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
I hope the American people this time, realizes that Palin is totally unsuitable, ignorant, and even dangerous to have, as VP. They made the same mistake in 2000 and 2003, with Bush. We saw similar traits in him, and KNEW he would be a disaster for this country. All she can do is go around the country, and in her high pitch voice, scream out falsehoods against Obama. Beyond that, without a script, she has nothing to offer this country. McLame made the biggest mistake in his political career, by picking someone unsuitable, and unacceptable, as a possible VP. He also has demeaned himself, by all these awful attacks on Obama, using the same rattlesnakes, that attacked him. How low can an American hero go? The good news is, it has backfired on him.
  • aynes54 · 1 year ago
You must be so envious of her!!! Next year this time, you will be the one screaming out as Obama's connections to his left wing characters and friends of terrorist will be there to haunt you. You will be crying as your hope in the messiah Obama will all come crashing down around you. Get smart and vote for the only one that has a record!!!

Why do the voters not trust Palin.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081021/ap_on_el_pr...

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.

The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel.

Why is the Republicans all seem to think the taxpayer should provide them will any perk, any rip off the want. Talk about shitting on socialism and then stealing from the state and the taxpayers.
There is not one ounce of shame with these people.

I cannot wait for the morning of November 5th, and John and Joe are able to live blog, including pictures, of all the helicopters lifting off from Washington during the evacuation of the neo-cons.

    And I'm only partially kidding.

I'll keep standing by this. Reagan's brain deteriorated while in office, Dubya's brain deteriorated since he was governor. They're just starting early with McCain..........

How accurate is the NBC poll?

I would take these big gains with a grain of salt. NBC's polls have never been super accurate.

Rasmussen has Obama up 50 to McCain's 46, and with a lock on 260 electoral votes (264 if you count NH). They have VA (13) and CO (9) leaning to Obama, while FL, MO, NC, NV and OH as tossups. Of all of those states, I think that NC may be the best bet. I don't trust Ohio (too many conservatives around Cincinnati) and less said the better for Florida. Zogby has McCain gaining in Nevada, but both Zogby and Rasmussen have MO even with a slight tilt to Obama. So, the numbers are still working to Obama's favor. I'll settle for 273 electoral votes and 50.0001% of the popular vote, because it means a win.

Frankly, I'd rather trust the more conservative polls than pop the champagne after reading NBC's polls. If, for some reason, November 5 shows a McCain win, at least I won't go into a full blown meltdown like some Democrats may.

what's more important is that the rnc and mccain camp keep flinging mud and it doesn't stick to Obama - it just keeps dripping from McCain.
The nasty stuff is not working and they just keep going. Morning Joe spent all 3 hours today trying their best to take down Obama by using the remarks by Biden against him and twisting it to sound awful. I wouldn't be surprised if this drives their ratings down and sticks to mccain as well.

What this article neglects to tell you is that it is a NBC poll and NBC is in bed with Obama, go figure??? It is interesting that the more the press talks about Palin's incompetents, the greater she becomes!!!! So next time, you see one of the polls or read one of these biased articles, ask yourself why they are working so hard to discredit her. Come on..you're smarter than they give you credit....
