AMERICAblog: Obama: "We already have economic disaster from John McCain's president, George W. Bush"

  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
but it's sooooo much more than economics, isn't it? is that why we don't like bush, 'cause the trains don't run on time? BO needs to hammer home a million other things. besides, what will happen if the ecomomy has a little boost between now and nov?
  • woodroad34 · 1 year ago
You're right. The cornucopia of bad decisions that came from Bush--and that McCain supports--should be just sooo much fun for Obama and his team to cultivate. However, the economy is a major sorepoint right now and he needs to hit that hard. He should just have all the rest of the issues stored as little presents waiting to be untied when the economy issue goes away. Sort of a "But wait! There's more..." info commercial.

lucky: You can count on a " little boost " and the creation of another scare before the election. Remember that the Republicans have repeatedly proven that they will go to any lengths ( fair or foul, legal or criminal ) to retain their control for their $$$$$$$$$$$$$$interests. Expect it, and hope that tthis time enough Americans will see through these tactics. Can they be fooled for a THIRD TIME?

With Russia's threat against Poland and its agreement to supply arms to Syria the saber rattling may scare the shit out of Joe Six Pack. For the most part Americans have not been involved in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. It has been a video game, no bodies seen, little coverage of the maimed and wounded. No more talk of the wars in fact for months. McCain is jumping on this opportunity to scream about the fear and terror and to draft our kids. I hate to say this but where I live north of Pittsburgh the rank and file Repubs think is is your duty to go fight and kill to keep their sorry asses safe. If we get some deaths so what. The boys at the hardware agreed that this Russia/Georgia thing is because Pelosi and Reid are too weak and we need the likes of Trent Lott to keep the Russians where they belong. I wish I agreed with you that Americans will see the truth but that hasn't happened because of all the shit Bush has done in 8 years. Every time Bush took more he blamed the Dems as being unpatriotic. Simply put, Bush countered every time we complained about illegal acts that if we have nothing to hide we shouldn't mind having the government listen in, read our mail, know what we read and be willing to be jailed without cause. Didn't get any push back in this country did it.

I can't play the clip here at work but my take on why he gets no traction from his attacks against McSame is he seems to always deliver them as some sort of joke. He's always "You know..." then smiling through the whole attack. He needs to be more solemn while delivering to give it more gravitas. The repubs have seriously ruined our ecomony and standing in the world, people know this he doesn't need to put on kid gloves to talk about it.

Well, you know, I keep saying it but Obama just gets damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Over at HuffPo Thomas Edsall has a post on whether Obama is an egghead or not with shitheads who are academics themselves crying that Obama just sounds "too Harvard". This is what happens to Obama on everything. So, I know you mean well, but please don't play the concern troll. Just let the man be himself instead of becoming so self conscious that he gets paralyzed or catatonic about doing anything.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I think the "damned if you do or damned if you don't" is a bona fide strategy of the Republicans against Obama. You don't see this happening to McCain.

I doubt the economy is going to rebound in even the slightest way. Freddy and fanny are toe-up. Things will get even graver.

Jersey: I need to caution you on your economic ( economy ) conclusion. Many new groups have been put in place by the Bush guys to try and control the economics as we see them. Surely the Federal Reserve is a Republican agency. Are you aware of the PPT ( Plunge Protection Team), The Working Group On Financial Markets, & The Counter Party Risk Management Group? Please check these out on Google and you will see that the free markets are no more and that government can create false economic statistics and movements. All, of course, in the national interest.

This is a taste of what I'm looking for. The more Obama does this, the less we have to worry about McCain in '09.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
What Obama needs to do is find three or four issues that Bush and McCain are identicle in and hammer them into peoples minds by repeating them over and over. Obama can't settle on making the Bush/McCain link once or twice but rather he needs to sound like a broken record on it.
    Bush/McCain Economy
    Bush/McCain War
    Bush/McCain Healthcare
    Bush/McCain civil liberties.
    Repeat repeat repeat
  • woodroad34 · 1 year ago
Obama should refer to the McBush Administration as the "Goldfish Administration". The reason I say that is because all they do is retread bad old ideas that look good again every 30 seconds. No brains, no intellectual curiosity, no nothing and voila! Another half minute and they try the same crap again. Hitting head on wall -- ouch--hitting head on wall--ouch--hitting head....

    Obama=new ideas+new direction
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    He needs to keep hitting...

use quotes from mccain that tie him to chimpy.

over and over and over again... drill them into people's heads...

    mccain = bush

do you want more of the same??

A reminder to all those who take the MSM/Corporate Pollsters seriously: There may be some very ignorant, greedy and racist voters out there , but not nearly enough to tell the screwed that they have not been screwed during the Bush/Cheney/Rove/Gonzo/Rummy/Pearl/Wolfie/DeLay/Boehner/ Supremes/and, of course McSame era.

WANT MORE PAIN ???????VOTE McSAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every ad should show the Bush/McCain hug at the end. If McCain is going to go nuclear questioning Obama's patriotism and sending out people to accuse Obama of horrible things, its time to fight fire with fire.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
keep saying it again and again and again. I want it repeated over and over. flood the airwaves, car magnets, etc.

Every ad should show the Bush/McCain hug at the end. <---yeah, what he said.
  • jonlave · 1 year ago
    This is not nearly enough.

Obama doesn't seem to understand what the country is completely screwed if it elects McCain.  We've endured 8 years of Republican and policies and what do we have?  A stock market that hasn't budged, A stagnant economy, a collapsing  housing market, a few major bank failures and a financial collapse we just avoided.  I shudder to think what 4 more years of this will bring.

On Foreign policy.  Yes, McCain promises 4 more years of war.  4 more years of security crises.

On Fiscal Policy, we are talking about adding a trillion dollars or so to the debt.

And these are just a few issues.  We're not mentioning a far right entrenched court, loss of abortion rights, etc.

We're screwed if we don't win.  Another hapless president whose a tool for a minority moneyed interest.

People have opened their pocketbooks for Obama in record numbers.  They are canvasing for him.  But Obama just doesn't get it.  There is no passion.  No urgency.  No recognition that if we lose this election then the darkness will spread.

Its madening.  McCain is talking celebrities.  And Obama cannot counter effectively?

I thought Obama was willing to fight. It turns out hes just another pussy foot democrat.

jonlave: Patience is suggested before you come to unfounded conclusions. Remember that this campaign is just now about to begin. Stay tuned and remember:

WANT MORE PAIN ???????VOTE Mc CAIN !!!!!!!!!!!

Mccain wants to double the Bush tax cuts which have destroyed our dollar. After he's done our currency will be worth as much as board game money
  • gonzalez · 1 year ago
Get with it people. The problem is not what Obama says or doesn't say. The problem is the media. They just report what McCain says and not what Obama says. We should be demending equal time. The people don't know it if it is not reported. The media is the democrats worst enemy.

The leopard does not change its spots aptly describes George W. Bush who has failed in every phase of his adult life and now has created an economic disaster from which the US may not recover. These failures in business and government have been consistent for this man whose very electtions were tainted just as McSame's participation at Saddleback was tainted. Shall we go from one tainted individual to another?
