AMERICAblog: Obama, with Star of David on his head, hanged in effigy

HOLY. CRAP. These people are crazy. God, Nov 4th can't get here quick enough...
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
Thing is, this crap is going to get worse after Nov 4th.
  • Mum48 · 1 year ago
I'm not sure it will get worse. I was thinking that a few days ago, but I think that after their enablers (McCain and Palin and the RNC) are muted in defeat, and given all the serious problems that need to be addressed, the healing will begin. It's not going to be easy, but I think we will begin to move forward after January 20, 2009.

    VOTE EARLY!!!!!!

but.. i thought Obama was ANTI-Israel?

Stupid fascists can't keep their arguments straight.
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
I thought he was an Arab. Now he's a Jew.

First he was an elitist, then a "guy off the streets".

They just pile every cuss-word on, even contradictory ones.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
That's it. Is the FBI going to investigate this kind of shit or not?

I blame the McCain campaign for stirring up all the hate and viciousness of the extremists.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
Beyond creepy......is anyone else having trouble getting sound from the video clips? A week or so ago almost every clip had the message that it was no longer available. Now I can't get any sound even though I get a picture. The sound on my computer is working for other things....
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
If you are using Mozilla, it has a hard time with flash. Restart the browser or use Internet explorer. I know I hate it too, but sometimes that is the only way I can view the clips.
  • Mum48 · 1 year ago
    Yes, I've been restarting Firefox.
  • mjn · 1 year ago
Sound problems could be related to the Flash video software on your computer. Uninstall and reinstall the Flash software. There is an uninstall utility at the Adobe website. I was having the same problem and doing this fixed it. Hope this helps.

    Windows Uninstall Utility: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/...
Newest version of Flash for Windows: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/downloa...

    Thanks!

Sometimes that happens when you have too many tabs open and then too many tabs containing videos. Try closing your browser and reopening. Also, I've noticed of late that for some reason YouTube videos all have their volume turned off or set to low. At the bottom of the video, click the sound icon and see how high the volume setting is
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
thanks for all the tips! I usually just wait for one of my kids to fix it!
  • Gridlock · 1 year ago
Well the more people do this, the more Palin/McTard will be seen as the Racist's Choice.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
As painful as it is to see something like this, it is necessary. It forces people to confront what they really think and believe. And I believe in their hearts the vast majority of Americans don't condone this, believe it, or support it.
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
I agree. In the long run (hopefully not too long) it'll be for the best but for the moment it's SO ugly.
  • nsr · 1 year ago
60 years of neo-conservative hate politics, boiled down to its putrid essence. Nice work. I'd say McCain should hire whoever put that up, but I guess he already has.
  • sbobker · 1 year ago
It's coming. Everyone who is not the right kind of white will be despised and maybe targeted. Hate crime is going to soar. I'm a Jew and this scares me on many levels. I also have close relatives who are Black. I just bought a shotgun for the house. I haven't used one in thirty five years (thanks for the excellent training Uncle Sam: I only wish I still had the trench gun I used), but if push comes to shove, and there is a direct threat of harm to anyone including pets who lives in this house, so be it. Florida law fortunately is on my side.

Once they are on your property, you can shoot them "nice and legal"?

I think that's called the Wiggum Doctrine.

More hate and more violence, more division and more anger - is that the change you want to see in the world?

    The racists candidates.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Isn't this some kind of prosecutable offense? I mean I clearly remember the uproar in Denver when a noose was found at a place of employment and it was being investigated by the FBI as a hate crime. Christ, this isn't even anonymous, it is out there advocating death to a presidential candidate.
  • Mum48 · 1 year ago
I agree with you (see my comment above). There has to be a law somewhere on the books that makes this illegal. Someone in the community needs to take the bull by the horns and ferret it out.
  • TheOriginalLiz · 1 year ago
We've known for quite a while now that the GOP platform appeals to the most loathsome elements of human nature.
  • David_in_Toronto · 1 year ago
You know it's time to seek psychiatric help when your Hallowe'en display makes the national news.

Hanging someone in effigy is really kind of a warning sign, no matter who it is.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
    Well put!
  • Mum48 · 1 year ago
I definitely agree with this. There certainly has to be something that the neighbors and the community can do, but they should do it in numbers, with the law at their side. There certainly has to be a law on the books somewhere that would demand that the display be removed. If this had happened in my neighborhood, I would have been in touch with the town council, my state representative, a lawyer, a law enforcement official, and as many of my sympathetic neighbors as I could persuade. In the process of doing something about the display, the man's mental health could also be assessed and help could be provided.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
Same for me - no vid sound and none of the mentioned fixes restores it, plus I tried 3 different browsers. Same story when I go to yt to view it.
  • TheOriginalLiz · 1 year ago
So what action have the Secret Service taken in respect to this? Were it McCain or Palin hanging in effigy, that guy would have been on his way to Gitmo in a heartbeat.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
What worries me about the Secret Service is that they are supposed to step in front of the president to use their own bodies as shields. I can see some of them unwilling to do that for a Black man. But, in reality, it is even far worse. The Secret Service refuses to take seriously threats to Obama. I can see them going on strike, protesting working conditions at the White House, well aware that there was an ongoing plot to assassinate Obama.

Part of this racism is also that the media tries to downplay threats against Obama as they did in Denver, making out those rednecks as nothing more than mischievieous hooligans and no real danger. They had guns and explosives. If they had not been arrested, these idiots would probably have actually carried out their plot. Essentially, the attitude is that if they don't succeed in assassinating Obama then there is no harm done. But try threatening, just talking about assassinating Bush/Cheney or McCain/Palin. Such threats will be treated very seriously. My guess is that even Quayle still gets some protection and that if you made a threat against him, you would be prosecuted.
  • Mum48 · 1 year ago
I'd be a bit careful with this. There may have been a few missteps early on (notice I said "may have"), but my understanding is that Obama himself has commended his Secret Service team, and they seem to be very devoted to him. And he did get Secret Service protection very early on in the primary period. I have been working on the Obama campaign and have met many people that have known him for a long time, the vast majority of them white. They are all devoted to him in a way I haven't seen in a long time. It is a genuine respect, admiration, and, indeed, love for the man. I suspect that having spent some time with him, and having come to know and appreciate him, his Secret Service detail would do the job they are expected to do.

Yes, I am concerned about how the Denver incident was handled, but I don't put that down to his personal Secret Service detail, and that was not their responsibility. Obama has assured that he is well-protected, and I think we need to put some faith in his judgment on this issue.

As citizens, we must be sure to advise the appropriate agencies about any threats which we hear or see. But given the way that Obama and his campaign staff have run the campaign (brilliantly, proficiently, effectively, etc.) I think that we can trust that they are being vigilant about his personal protection. I'm not being naive here; I'm just trusting the judgment and the comments made by the man I am working hard to see will be the next president of the United States.

it looked to me like the video from the news cast was trying to blur out the star of david on the ghost... and did I miss something, or did they not mention it???
  • LeftCoastOracle · 1 year ago
I'm almost ashamed to say that i was born and raised about 15 miles from Fairfield OH. I say almost because I left there in 1982 and haven't been back.

People in Southwestern OH are pretty scary conservative - else how could they elect John Boehner to represent them? It speaks to the fact that there are people who need an authoritative leader; they don't know how to, or want to, make their own decisions. Ir's either hardwired or ingrained as a result of generations of brainwashing.

i escaped to the West Coast where I belong. I'm accustomed to making my own decisions and can't imagine living anywhere else. It's why I'm working as hard as I can to get Barack Obama elected. I hope all of you will too.

Too bad this kracker's employer's name doesn't slip into the public forum so they both can feel the consequences of his "brave" racism.
  • devis1 · 1 year ago
Just a matter of time before it's out there and Joe Plumber nightmares rain down on this sorry excuse for a human. Let it begin pronto.
  • David_in_Toronto · 1 year ago
Who would you rather picture yourself voting with-- this jack ass, or his lovely neighbors?

I think things like this are really going to hurt McCain. He's got to say something. I do think there is a lot of racism in the U.S., but few of those people want to be tarred with the same brush as the KKK, or morons like this. But the moron element is emboldened, adn the press, which has been so throughly demonized by the GOP, is going to keep pointing that out. I don't think the media are as angry as they are frightened by Palin mobs. It's unprecedented in my life time.

It's also going to make it more difficult to execute McCain's subtlety racist alarmism. If he continues to go too far, a lot of Republicans will probably not vote.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
For those of you that might want to ask why this advocating of death to a presidential candidate is allowed, here is the FBI in Ohio. Freedom of speech would be a NO OBAMA sign, a hate crime is hanging an effigy

    FBI Cincinnati
    Room 9000
    550 Main Street
    Cincinnati, Ohio 45202-8501
    cincinnati.fbi.gov
    (513) 421-4310
  • Dezlboy · 1 year ago
I just called the Cincinnati OH FBI (using number in first reply.) Person who answered phone was very polite. I provided the AMERIBLOG URL, said clip from Channel 12, and gave address of SIMMS and HICKS in Fairfield OH.

I guess I am not the first person to call? But, the lady that answered acted as if this was the first call about it. Another call would not hurt! This really disturbs me!

Also, (about 20 min later?) called the Secret Service in Cinn at 513-684-3585. Got recording, but did what it said (hit Zero?) and got connected to Chicago SS, who said they would have someone from Cinn call me back).
  • EllaDisenchanted · 1 year ago
Thanks for all of those who are calling. This guy needs to be "attitude adjusted".

(Is this one of those things, like the Palin rape kit issue, that is discussed here but silent elsewhere (until it catches on) and when will this catch on?

    Stupid MSM
