They, Clinton & Republicans, do not want people to feel Hope or Inspiration! They have no weapon against that! So they belittle Barack's talent or Gift for inspiration & hope! Shame on them.... Barack had to "remind" us who he is because the Republican-controlled Media & Clintons tried to re-define him and confuse us as to who Barack really is!

People are finally waking up. They do not want to be fooled again -- into another Iraq War (Iran & Hillary oblitration comment), higher gas bills (when they promised Iraqi oil would fit the bill), failures of Govt on the home front (Katrina/ Bridges/tainted food and products), loss of jobs and jobs going over seas. This country is in a mess and the Same old Characters doing the Same Old Thing is not the Answer!

    Hillary says Guam doesn't count.

She calls it "the Missouri of the Pacific."
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
There is not "Or" about, big wins or not. This is over. She cannot deliver unless she steals it.

Interesting that our colonial subjects in Guam don't get to vote in the actual election-and their delegates votes only count for half a vote---sounds like slavery to me...Why do we "let" them vote in the primary if they can't vote in the election?
  • Jeremy_in_Denver · 1 year ago
Funny. From what I read, Guam is actually very interested in keeping their relationship with the US, including using such forms of relationship as becoming part of the State of Hawaii, becoming a Commonwealth similar to Puerto Rico, and even joining with other islands in the Pacific and trying to become the 51st State of the United States. Why do we 'let' them vote in the Primaries? Because that's a right they've earned and chosen to execute. They also have earned and executed a non-voting member of the House, and there is of course the ideas floating around to making that member a voting member and securing 2 senators or adding to Hawaii's count of Reps and influencing Hawaii's choice of Senators.

'Colonial Subjects'? Eh, research the various unincorporated territories and commonwealths. You may be surprised at what you find.

I wonder about this too. I think Puerto Rico also gets to vote in the primaries but cannot vote for the president. Why is this?

Looks like Tom Friedman of the NY Times is leaning to Obama. I never liked Friedman much--too fond of globalization. But this is a powerful column and perhaps a sign of momentum for Obama: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/04/opinion/04fri...

All responsible Democrats should refrain from saying that HILLARY IS SATAN.

Its not fair to insult Satan that way.:-)

Unchallenged Hillary lies flew fast and furious during her friendly chit chat with Stephie this morning:

"If we're going to have a half-a-trillion-dollar defense budget, then I want to see American workers do what is necessary to produce the defense, materials and goods for our country," said Clinton.

It was strong line, combining a protectionist sentiment with national security emphasis. But Clinton's record on "outsourcing" defense jobs is a mixed bag.

In January 2005, Clinton deftly maneuvered -- from her perch on the Senate Armed Services Committee -- a multi-billion-dollar contract to buy presidential helicopters from a consortium including European companies.

A former friend of mine is a Hillary supporter. He asked me if I would support her if she won the nomination and I said "Hell no!" I'm pretty sure most Obama supporters feel the same way. How in the world could we vote for someone as corrupt, racist, and downright evil as Billary?

I told my ex-friend, look after Shillary loses, we really need you to join the Obama campaign. The Democratic Party can't afford to be ripped apart by selfish Clintonistas who refuse to back Obama when they are needed. If McCain somehow wins the November election, it will be solely the fault of the selfish Hillbot slime.

Martina: Don't be surprised if your 'former friend' tells you to fuck off. Your explanation basically tarred your 'former friend', and now, he's likely to vote for McCain before he votes for your choice.

My answer to this question: "It depends alot on what she does at the convention and after the convention. If by some miracle she manages to take both popular and pledged delegate count, I might vote for her. If she continues the incessant attacks on Obama, it's very likely I won't vote for her. If she wins by a back-room deal with the Super Delegates, I will do everything in my power to ensure she does NOT win by voting _against_ her (and very painfully, for McCain), even as I try to put Udall in the Senate and keep Degette in the house. Four years of a Republican President neutered by a Democratic House and Senate will be the price to pay for back-room shenanagans.

Granted, this will go over Martina's head. This is intended for the rational Obama supporter (of which I consider myself an example of) who is getting caught up in the 'Hillary sucks' moment. Remember, Clinton supporters are people too. If you attack their views by calling them hillbots, that you'd not vote for their candidate and that they're evil for supporting that candidate, don't be surprised if they retalliate by calling you Hopium Addicts, saying that they'd never vote for your candidate, and saying that you're evil for supporting that candidate.

What I would actually say to Martina's 'ex-friend': "Hmm. Would you vote for Obama if he won the nomination? No? Then why do you expect me to vote for Clinton if she wins the nomination. Oh, yes, you would? I'll hold you to that come November."

Oh, so they have "earned" the right to vote, but only in the primaries. What did they do to earn it--allow their people to work for slave wages for American corporations?

In reply to mmedefarge: Puerto Rico has voted several times on whether to remain a Commonwealth, become a state or become independent. So far, the results have always been for the status quo. There are some advantages - citizenship with no Federal taxes comes to mind. I'm not certain about Guam's voting record regarding statehood, etc. I'm certain it can be found on the internet.
In reply to Jeremy_in_Denver: the only way Sen. Clinton can win at the convention is by convincing enough of Sen Obama's delegates to vote for her after the requisite first ballot for their pledged candidate. Or if Sen. Obama's campaign implodes before the convention. The odds aren't favoring either occurrance, but they don't rule them out either. Should the convention show signs of becoming deadlocked, then the superdelegates can vote for whoever they want and, as you stated, it most likely will be for whoever has the lead in delegates since that would represent a popular vote lead as well.
And anyone who believes that this country could survive a McCain presidency as a salve about not voting for Sen. Clinton if she is the candidate, is only deluding themselves. Remember, Supreme Court appointments are for life...

In a territory where, like, twenty people live and twelve people voted, Obama (barely) won. I guess you guys--what with feeling extremely threatened and insecure--have to celebrate whenever you get the slightest reason, these days, huh?

Meanwhile, Hillary's bringing in the big states...
  • rugbyman · 1 year ago
he won by 7 votes out of 4500. huge win. i think the tide is turning back in Obama's favor. go get'em barrack!!!
  • rugbyman · 1 year ago
she won penn by 10% double what this website gave her in the closing week.
She won Texas where it counts b/c only my mssed up state would give people 2 votes. in the primary contest in texas where everyone voted she won. Obama cant close and you are trying to say Hillary cant deliver? You Obama people are starting to sound desperate.
  • ericgoldman · 1 year ago
Yes, Senator Obama won by 7 votes, in Guam. That should surely put to rest the concern that Senator Obama does not have the ability to reach white middle class voters in big states.
