AMERICAblog: Obama won, hands down

  • Webster · 1 year ago
John McCain is not America's friend.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I have a good feeling about Barack Obama.
I can see him being President.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
    Me too.
  • njprogressive · 1 year ago
David Brooks is on PBS and he agrees that Obama won the debate. He said that Obama just seems to be more comfortable, and it makes it easy to picture him leading the country.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
did I just see Brokaw blow off Obama's attempt to be pleasant? He just turned his back as Obama was speaking to him.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
What exactly did McNasty say about Biden's hair plugs? I keep reading about it but no further info.

I'm shocked you all agree Obama won! Even though he did.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
The "that one" comment is going to come back to bite McLame big time.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
If I thought McCain was better, believe me, I would readily admit it. But clearly Obama shined tonight.

The expectations that Obama would not do as well in a town hall format was completely false.

    Obama rocked tonight.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Yep--MSM conventional wisdom was that Capt Queeg had "mastered" the format. Hah! There isn't anything Obama can't do better than that old relic.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
There isn't anything Obama can't do better than that old relic.

Obama can't lie, cheat, steal, act hateful, rude, bigoted, underhanded, back stabbing. Those are McCain's inherent talents he gladly concedes to McCain.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
    except those things!
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
    Yes, I agree.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I agree with the official Americablog analysis. In fact, I couldn't agree more.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
What's the point of prolonging the agony with a third debate? It would only make Granpa unhappy to be up past his bed time again. "That one:" the Capt Queeg "moment" I was waiting for.
  • tommytoonz · 1 year ago
The key for me was Obama was specific and McCain just said, often, that he knows how to do things, but never said what it was he would do. Despite me being a cynic I even thought Brokaw was very even handed, a bit of a clock watcher though.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
McNasty hugged Cindy after the debate as if she had warned him ahead of time, "Don't you dare mess up my makeup."
  • Webster · 1 year ago
What's the point of Pat Buchanan? Who cares what that old crook thinks anyway?
  • Poopyman · 1 year ago
Well, boy are your faces red! Pat Buchanan says that McCain clearly won, and he wouldn't be biased, of course.
  • butchcjg · 1 year ago
John - Make note of this PLEASE. JOhn & Cindy McCain left about 10 minutes ago. Barack Obama is STILL out there signing autographs, taking pictures, and talking to the voters! Seriously, they are LOVING him and he's taking the time to speak with them. McCain LEFT. This is HUGE.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
They had to leave quickly, otherwise it would have been more obvious that Cindy has afraid to touch average Americans.
  • Poopyman · 1 year ago
I'm sure he's in the back getting oxygen.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Just flipped over to MSNBC and Pat Buchanan, the turd, just gave about FIVE REASONS why Obama won and then said, "I think John McCain won tonight, but..." Yea, whatever...!

Of course, Rachel Maddow was able to analyze the debate more appropriately along with the FACT Obama won tonight - hands down!
  • mirth · 1 year ago
Tonight, more so than any other time I have heard Barack speak, I saw a president.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Sounds like Obama could commit US troops for school yard infractions. He's a scary guy. And, assessing parents fines for not having health insurance for the kiddoes? Whoa......
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Honey, he said he'd commit troops to catch Osama bin Laden if we knew where he was. He also said he'd commit troops to stop the Holocaust. Unless you hang out in some pretty tough schoolyards, I don't quite think they rise to the test Obama laid down :-)
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Unless you hang out in some pretty tough schoolyards, I don't quite think they rise to the test Obama laid down

Just goes to show you, you have no idea what schoolyards Busboy still attends. They are still trying to get him to graduate kindergarten.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
You would shit your pants if you had to grow up in the schoolyard in which I grew up.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Please, don't call me honey in front of the unwashed...... ;-)..
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
    This is all you got?
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
What an insufferable prig McCain is.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
Did McStain really refuse to shake Barack's hand?
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
yes he shoved his wife over there and turned away
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
"Goodies." "Hairplugs." "That one." Behold, America, a scary prospect for your next President...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
He should have added, "I, of course, am from another time and place, my friends!"
  • tomtallis · 1 year ago
It seems to me that McSame's anger stems from a sense of entitlement. He thinks that somehow he's earned the "right" to be President and that its his "turn;" and he resents every minute of haveing to campaign and deal with that "uppity" Democrat who will probably deny him his due.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    The Hillary syndrome?
  • tomtallis · 1 year ago
Senator Clinton seems to have recovered (unlike Bill). We saw it again today when McCain had a brief moment of clarity and saw the road down which he is traveling and the hate he is fomenting, tried to do the decent thing and was booed for his trouble. That, I think, is the last that we'll see of the old McCain.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Bill promised to campaign for Obama after the Jewish new year. He better get a move-on
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Who won the presidential debate? * 33797 responses

Pat Buchanan (sp?) said that McCain won? Poor Pat.
  • Poopyman · 1 year ago
Then he pointed out that Obama was up by 9 points. He sounded either confused or depressed. Possibly both.
  • butchcjg · 1 year ago
I'm telling you - if we make it so - the MOST important part of the whole night was post debate. The way Obama and McCain interacted with the crowd. McCain shook a couple of hands, then left. The Obamas stuck around and shook every hand in that town hall. They took pictures, signed autographs, and LISTENED.

That's the story. Let's make it the story. Let's not miss that important moment.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I'm sorry but Cindy McCain isn't going to make an effective First Lady if she looks like this all the time:

    http://img154.exs.cx/img154/2079/superstar5tr.jpg

Its Mary Catherine Gallagher with her hands in her arm pits with a pouty look on her face!
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
    I think Obama won.
  • wesindc · 1 year ago
Was I the only one that had to go to Wikipedia to find out what a Tiller is?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    We know you're kidding.......
  • wesindc · 1 year ago
Why didn't he use Rudder that most people would know that aren't breifed in nautical language and it would of had the same meaning? He might as well said something along "your seeing me on the magical picture tube!"
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
Because they're two different things. The rudder is under the boat in the water; the tiller is what controls the rudder.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
    Who is Tiller?
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
Maybe someone could explain the relevance of Teddy Roosevelt. McCain is lost in the 19th century.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
The facat that McLame called Obama "that one", shows that McLame is disrespectful, and does not have the mentality to be President. He has shown
petulance, and behaved like a spoilt kid, who does not get his way.
He seems to show a lot of anger against Sen. Obama.
  • Henry_V · 1 year ago
Yes, Obama won, but not hands down. He flubbed the first health care question. He coulda, shoulda been warmer, a bit friendlier. I see him in his law professor role a little too much. Hopefully, he'll grow into the job, maybe after he's elected.
  • David_in_Toronto · 1 year ago
What shocked me most tonight was McCain's physical condition. He sounded terrible, as if he were fighting for breath.

McCain's answers, if you wrote them out and didn't worry about facts, were excellent. He has the ignorant vote.

But the delivery was poor. It went beyond rude. I don't think I'm exaggerating, he looked like he was dying. Anyone else?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I think, from what I have seen in stump speeches, this is McCain. He does that soft spoken stuff like he is telling you a secret then he ratchets it up to make his point. His style is predictable.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
When he walked, it looked like his diaper was falling or was full.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
    New T-shirt Logo....THAT ONE.....
  • WPE · 1 year ago
I thought the low point for McCain was his meandering non-answer on what to do about Russia. Moral support? That's the answer?
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
The charts on MSNBC and CNN both had OBAMA doing very well with Independents
  • tas · 1 year ago
Anybody who says they are still undecided are either lying their asses off or are the lowest common denominator that are the cause of the decay of our political system.
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
No kidding even the coma and Alzheimer victims should have a clear picture, But there is this minority of people that cannot make any kind of decision.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Maybe they like the attention they're getting for the first time in their lives. It's impossible to believe that there are people who cannot decide between McCain and Obama.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
    Bingo!!
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
    NBC now mentioning "THAT ONE".

    Not looking good for McCrazyCain.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
How about a T-Shirt that says:

    [ I'm voting for "That One!" ]
  • iWoman · 1 year ago
I'm in Ohio, so I can proudly say I already voted for "that one."
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
    All Right!! & Well Done!!

    ...
  • WPE · 1 year ago
And if TR is your hero, you don't flub his signature quote, which Obama naturally stepped in and corrected for him. Heh heh.

    CNN

Who fared better in Tuesday's presidential debate?
    Sen. John McCain 13% 1706
    Sen. Barack Obama 84% 10923
    No clear winner 3%

    http://www.cnn.com/
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Chicago Tribune: Obama 85%, McCain 14.5%.
  • mckathiki · 1 year ago
Senator Obama was presidential in every sense of the word and, more importantly, radiated energy, vigor, and intelligence. McCain seemed medicated to me and, as my 29 year old son texted me,"like an old man sittin' on the porch rockin' and yammerin' on and on". McCain also came across as a snake oil salesman from the olden days (hope somebody counted how many times he said, "my friends") and totally represented THE PAST.

I don't agree with everything Senator Obama says but I think he truly loves our country and has the ability to inspire Americans to get real and get to work. McCain and his running mate seem intent on dividing Americans and promoting dishonesty, class distrust, and bigotry. I for one will vote for the future by casting my ballot for Obama/Biden on the first day of early voting in my state.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    It's after McCain's bedtime.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
I had to laugh when McBush said "we" needed a steady hand at the rudder, He can't be serious? Him? If we need a steady hand controlling the tiller then, it should be Obama.
  • JustAGuy · 1 year ago
I'm reviewing the CBS feed, which I recorded, and both candidates took time to shake hands with the audience. I was about to conclude that you were mistaken about McCain disappearing but... you're right. He bolted after about 5 minutes while Obama and his wife stayed behind to shake hands.
  • WPE · 1 year ago
Did you know Tennessee and Arizona border each other? It's true, according to Mac.
  • wesindc · 1 year ago
WTH is up with the recent "body language" analisys on all the MSM reports?
  • WPE · 1 year ago
Black people have never heard of Fannie and Freddie Mac.
  • WPE · 1 year ago
Here's the line Obama needs to go to on Pakistan, the line that shuts McCain up: America doesn't ask permission to take out terrorists that kill 3000 of our citizens.
  • bbock · 1 year ago
McCain probably needed to have his adult diaper changed. Hmmm. Maybe that's what he means when he talks about change.
  • David_in_Toronto · 1 year ago
I'm impressed with Obama's refusal to go negative. If you're trying to sell bipartisanship, acting like a gentleman is the way to go. I think his behavior speaks well of his judgement.

McCain kept talking about reaching across the aisle, but was so belligerent. Perhaps I'd be belligerent if I were as sick as McCain seemed. I really can see how his answers would resinate with some voters, but he just seemed do damn mean.
  • kattywacky · 1 year ago
McCain came off as creepy, nasty and small, both literally and figuratively.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
The way McNasty keeps talking about Petraeus, you'd think he was Grant or Eisenhower. I don't think Petraeus has proved he belongs in such distinguished company yet.
  • WDemDem · 1 year ago
Fox Noise isn't doing a poll, but rather taking comments on who won. Scrolling through, it looks like 2 to 1 said OBAMA won! Since the Palin-Biden poll didn't let me vote for Biden, but accepted my vote for Palin, I'd say they screwed themselves again with this new tactic. Until they delete the "Obama was the winner" comments, that is.
  • dad · 1 year ago
    OBAMA WON !
    mccain is done.
  • WPE · 1 year ago
McCain: We can fix Social Security. That's easy. Now Medicare is a little tougher. Oh? It's so easy he gave us no details. None!!
  • WPE · 1 year ago
On the last question, McCain says he doesn't know what the unexpected things will be during his presidency. No shit, Sherlock. Me neither. Geez, he's just like me. Except for the beer-heiress wife and 12 houses.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
McCain had a lot of wierd non sequadors like that.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
now, now Cidny and McGrumy cannot be mingling with the unclean masses. why, someone might actually ask John a question and he might get angry on camera.
  • darter22 · 1 year ago
McNasty, he's not "That one" , he's "the One". You lose.
  • GreyFoxThree · 1 year ago
No doubt about it, Obama kicked McBush to the curb! Well done!
