"Dishonest and dishonorable" pretty much sums up Johnny's flailing campaign... Love how the spot gets the jump on McCain's more vicious attacks, too. But, hard as the spot is Senator Obama's people will need to ratchet the tone up even more in the thick of the last ditch McCain smears... PS--SNL last night, confirmed Palin's laughing stock status post debate.

Wonderful ad....not only does it keep the financial crisis as the main issue but it warns people about the smear attacks which is in process.
and there's always McCain's relationship with Keating to be revisited........does McCain really want to go there

Not to mention the Rick Davis scandal got buried last week w/ the bailout bill. Let's get back to that!

There is the Keating 5 for McCain and for Bruin Hilda her association to the Succession Party in Alaska.

So much ammo in reserve in addition to Keating Five: McCain's votes against vets (new GI Bill); links to Phil Gramm; hostility to MIA families; and much, much more!

WooHoo! A few more commercials like this, baking McSame at 350, and it will be time to stick a fork in him.

Great opening photo. He looks like an old mafioso coming into town for a gathering of the families. Vito McCorleone.

Great ad but they should have used the McCain/Bush cake on the runway pic at the end.
grandma

that or the one with McCain literally hugging, hanging on Bush.

Oh the cake shot would have been fantastic! Good call.

It's very good. But I would rather see quick cut clips of McSame just flip floppin on economy shit with his 12 houses and cars and Ms Thang in bright orange silk faux Chanel. Obama is so classy and unfortunately his people need to get down and dirty. Joe Six Pack out there won't understand the voice over here. It needs to look like an ad for NASCAR.

Good ad. Republicans are already whining. Mel Martinez on This Week said it was not nice. The ad is honest, McCain has been and is erratic. Perhaps it is just me but I don't see an honest ad as being a negative ad. So far, I think Obama's campaign has done a hell of a job of staying on the high road during this election process. The one candidate who vowed to stay above sleaze has resorted to sleaze.
How can McCain keep saying he will reform Washington when he and his running mate have resorted to same old politics of using negativity to win.

He lies. Obviously he says whatever he thinks is politically expedient.

I've always believed that peace is the best policy. However, on every playground there's a bully who wants anything but peace. If you can't reason with the bully, if you can't avoid him, if no one can control him, then your only alternative is to punch back. The Repubs, masters of the dirty trick, have been the bully in the past two elections. I'm glad to see that Obama/Biden are prepared to punch the bully back.

I don't know who the hell is running the Obama campaign but they are awesome! They are SO out in front on these things. Best of all, they hit back hard but aren't stooping to the Repug level. Just awesome.

You are right and it is the same thing I noticed during the primaries. IMHO this would carry over to the presidency, smart people, people that really know what they are doing, would be in an Obama cabinet. Wouldn't that be something, our government run by knowledgeable people rather than people who contributed the most like Bush has done.

I'll settle for our government run by people who aren't crooks.

Agreed. Would be amazing. haven't seen that in a LONG time.

The "erratic" tagline is from USA Today, and ya can't get more dull-mainstream than that. Again, the awesome strategic game being fought by Obama-Plouffe-Axelrod makes my eyes water...

Another product from a smart, calm, collected team with a plan. These are the kind of people that you want running the White House. I just hope that Walnuts goes postal over this - now that would be fun to watch. Oh yeah, I forgot, McCain is resting today. Or perhaps he's pining for the fjords...

OH crap, watching Tom Brokow on MTP and talk about shades of things to come. He brought up the Palin comments about paling around with terrorists and said "shouldn't Obama have addressed this sooner?" We are going to have a VERY biased moderator on Tuesday.

I can't watch Brokaw anymore...at one time I had respect for him....now he's taking the low road....just like McCain
aquarius2

I always admired Brokaw but I notice he has a definite bent towards McCain.. Was he always like this, Republican leaning, and I never noticed or am I so involved with this election I am noticing it a lot more?

Was he (Brokaw) always like this
Check to see if he has any new overseas accounts.

Brokaw has always been like this. As he ages, he becomes less smooth about it. He should stick to reading the news from a teleprompter... he sucks on Meet the Press and they need to replace him soon. Unlike the Republicans regarding Gwen I., I doubt the Dems will say anything about Brokaw and his birthday party with MCain a few years back. Whatever. Like Obama once said, he's seen worse on the basketball court.

Brokaw is doing a town hall. I think his own biases will be reigned in. I submitted a question online and you had to pick a category. I was pissed cause there was no category to fit my question--they were things like Economy, Iraq, Abortion, etc. They didn't have a category for Smear or even Character so I think Brokaw will stick to the issues and mainly stay out of it. There might be a questions bias toward McCain but even then I think Obama is far superior on the issues and will be fine. I think the Obama camp is very skeptical of Brokaw which is why they chose him to moderate the town hall.

"Dishonest and dishonorable." Repeating that will hit McCain's self-image where it really hurts. Can't wait for the Tuesday "debate" (town hall)!

I think Brokow has the potential to be another Charley Gibson, but we will just have to see on Tuesday.

Is it just me, or is the voice-over a little reminiscent of McCain's voice? It sure isn't the usual booming baritone 'authoritative' voice you usually get.. This could be a smart strategy to get McCain supporters to listen, thinking they are going to hear something they agree with.

Rahm Emanuel just hammered Marsha Blackburn on Late Edition. She was talking about Obama's "association" with Bill Ayers and Emanuel explained why the McCain camp doesn't want to go there. He pulled out the Keating 5 info and just kept going. It was a thing of beauty...

Paul B??? said the same thing on MTP, although he was more subtle. He just said McCain doesn't want to bring up associations because he has skeletons as in Keating 5.
Palin: I’d also like to give a shout out to those third graders at Gladys Elementary who were so helpful to me with my debate prep.
Palin: We don’t know if this Climate Change whoseewhatsit is man-made or if it’s just a natural part of the End of Days…
Ifill: Are you in favor of extending same sex rights to the entire nation? Palin: I’d be afraid of where that would lead. I believe marriage is intended to be a holy bond between two unwilling teenagers…
Palin: There’s a special place for Israel in Heaven. And I know some people will say I’m only saying that to pander to Florida voters, but from a very young age my two greatest loves have always been Jews and Cuban food.

Wow! MTP is really, really pushing the Ayers association. Peggy Noonan needs therapy, David Gregory needs to control his bias and Tom Brokaw, no doubt whatsoever that he WILL be another Charley Gibson.

OT re: debates
McCain is going to try to throw anything and everything and see if it sticks.
Obama needs to set the record straight when McCain accuses him of not supporting the troops (the Obama camp has let this go the last 2 debates). Mention the grade that the veterans groups assigned.
Put the onus on McCain. Obama should not explain his vote, but volley back that McCain voted against the troops, deregulation, etc. Bonus points: ask McCain how he voted on a certain bill....I'll bet he won't remember.
Also, the Rezko mention....I'm really curious how this is going to pan out. Do the rethugs really want to go there? Rezko played both sides of the aisle. At Rezko's trial, he was willing to discuss the rethugs and Karl Rove's involvement to obstruct/fire a federal attorney (Patrick Fitzgerald-of all people!) to prevent an investigation...

I'm Barack Obama and I'm sane.
It's true that Barack has a really level-headed, even humorous personality under stress. I was a constituent in Illinois for years and the man wasn't just a Barack, he was a ROCK. He doesn't come unglued, he's not high-strung, and he stays on task, which will prove invaluable in coming years!!!
