Me too, especially people like those financial industry CEOs.
Parents of gobs of young children shouldn't be busy being celebrities; they should be busy being a parent. Babies and young children cannot take care of their own needs. And bonding with safe, consistent caretakers is extremely important.
This applies to the Palin family, too, by the way.

Representatives Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Ted Poe (R-TX) today sent a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Department, Mr. Timothy Geithner, requesting that Treasury demand that Citigroup dissolve their $400 million contract with the New York Mets to name the new Mets stadium Citi Field.

In California, a family is lost in a murder-suicide because of work issues. In every state, American homes are foreclosed and people put on the street. At Citigroup, 50,000 people will lose their jobs. Yet in the boardroom of Citigroup, spending $400 million to put a name on stadium seems like a good idea. The Treasury Department, which forced Citigroup corporate executives to give up their private jet, should also demand that Citigroup cancel its $400 million advertisement at the Mets field and instead begin to repay their debt to the taxpayers," stated Kucinich.

It begs the question of who "owns" the un-implanted frozen embryos from IVF treatments, and who has the right to determine the fate of all such embryos. Also skitters a mite too close as to who's "suitable" for bearing children.
However--it's not the kids' fault. They're going to have an effed-up life as it is.

The State of CA needs to step in now, tie this woman's tubes, and remand all of these children into foster homes (and eventual adoption). The real tragedy here is that all of these children will have to go to so many separate homes. But, they have no hope at all by staying with their biological relatives.
If all crazy overbreeders were put away, there'd be no Republican base.
But I agree that the Doctor or Clinic is unethical at best, dangerous at worst.

The woman (named Nadya Suleman) is 33 years old, has never been married, used IN VITRO FERTILIZATION FOR ALL HER CHILDREN, apparently "worked" at the Fertility Clinic, used the same "DONOR FATHER" (makes you wonder if it was her boss!?), lives with/off her PARENTS, who are 1 million dollars in debt and filed bankruptcy last March!!! The news tonight said the hospitalization bill alone is over one million dollars already... Guess who they plan to have FOOT THE BILL for all this b.s.?! (Nadya has delusions of becoming a MEDIA CHILD EXPERT and wants Dianne Sawyer & Oprah Winfrey to feature her on their shows and make her rich & famous! WHAT A SL=T!)

As far as I've heard Oprah doesn't pay for interviews but I might be wrong here but I hope I'm not. This stupid broad doesn't deserve one cent for her stupidity.

A woman who already has 6 children under the age of 8 doesn't have fertility problems.
Since she has no money, no spousal or child-care support, no education, and no job, she'll never have the money required to properly raise the children she does have. Clothing and food are expensive enough, and children need books and toys to develop as humans.
She may be stupid and vain and obsessive enough to want more children. The doctor, however, is supposed to be an educated man, and ALL doctors sign ethical oaths. He has violated that oath. His nurses and staffers violated their oaths. 46 weeks and not one of them put in a tip to the State Medical Board?
Close the clinic.
Otherwise, the sow will be back next year for another litter.
Seems an odd choice of speculation, over something like pork bellies, but if you've got all that mother-love, pop `em out. Even if you are not blessed with as many technological miracles as Soleman is, there is always a concerned someone in government who will see that guns are pointed in a productive direction, and will see that you are set up with the extracted values others produced.
Understand this: While everyone ooohs and ahhhs over someone having 8 kids at once, I call bullshit on this as a "respect for life" issue, and I seriously doubt the parental expertise of this "professional student" and the huge carbon footprint she's foisted on the world for one thing. To simply keep on having children like she did is a sign of an irresponsible individual wishing to bring attention to herself and her brood, hoping to capitalize on the goodwill of others, most of whom are having a hard time providing for their own much smaller broods.
And how many mentally challenged women out there will latch on to this idea? There already is that "Quiverfull" movement of the religious right out there which considers women nothing but walking wombs already.
Frankly, I'm more than offended. It's time for women to stop this nonsense.
Of course, I have no doubt there will be some just as nutty producer who will think showcasing this woman is a "good thing." I truly feel sorry for her kids, now that they're here. Some may have physical and developmental problems as a result of her ego-driven ambitions. For anyone to think that any of this is a good thing is out of whack mentally. You just don't experiment with life like this because of ambition and an ego gone awry.
And it can be likened to Wall St. types who think they deserve much more than anyone else on the planet. Obviously this woman does, too, simply expressed in another way.

Maybe the woman did it to herself, or with the aid of a friend?! She apparently worked for that Fertility Clinic. Also, some stories are reporting that the same "donor" is father to all her children; sounds like some worker at the Clinic who sits around and "DONATES" sperm all day long!! LOL...

Not exactly unwritten at all: The 14th Amendment: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
I do feel bad for the children that have to grow up in a family that clearly does not have the their priorities straight. The mother clearly cares more about making money off of her kids than providing a good home.

Citizenship Clause
The purpose of the Citizenship Clause was to provide citizenship to former slaves born in the United States.
During the original debate over the amendment, Senator Jacob M. Howard of Michigan, the author of the citizenship clause described the clause as excluding not only Indians but “persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers.”[citation needed]
In Elk v. Wilkins, 112 U.S. 94 (1884), the clause's meaning was tested regarding whether it meant that anyone born in the United States would be a citizen regardless of the parents' nationality. In that case, the Supreme Court held that the children of Native Americans were not citizens, despite the fact that they were born in the United States.
The meaning was tested again in the case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898), regarding children of non-citizen Chinese immigrants born in United States. The court ruled that the children were U.S. citizens.[2]
The distinction between "legal" and "illegal" immigrants was not clear at the time of the decision of Wong Kim Ark.[3] Neither in that decision nor in any subsequent case has the Supreme Court explicitly ruled on whether children born in the United States to illegal immigrant parents are entitled to birthright citizenship via the Amendment,[4] although it has generally been assumed that they are.[5] In some cases, the Court has implicitly assumed, or suggested in dicta, that such children are entitled to birthright citizenship: these include INS v. Obviously, the framers of this Amendment DID NOT ANTICIPATE ALL THE MISCHIEF, MAYHEM AND BU11SH1T occurring in modern-day America, with all this influx of FOREIGNERS who come here for the specific purpose of HAVING KIDS who will become U.S. Citizens, and with the hope that once those kids are born, the Parent(s) can stay.
THE LAW NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AND CLARIFIED, so that NON-US-CITIZENS are less inclined to come over here and flood our systems with their spawn and the COSTS of their upkeep.
I guess all of hers took. From what I have read she was offered the choice of aborting some of the fetuses and she made a choice not to. That was her decision, not the public's. My maternal grandparents had 14 children born to them and 12 of them survive today with children and grandchildren of their own. My grandmother did not have them with the help of fertility treatments. My grandmother had her babies from the 1930's through the 1950's. It had to have been pretty hard at times and they went through their financial difficulities, but they made it. The family is by no means perfect, but with the exception of the 2 children they lost due to diptheria and pneumonia, the other 12 grew up healthy. It seems to me that people want to moan about her probably need for government assistance and that she may have to rely on the "taxpayer" to get her children raised, when their major concern seems to be that she is a single mother. Because she is unmarried, a lot of people think she doesn't deserve the same gifts of houses, cars, appliances, and baby supplies that married, more finacially secure parents get when they have multiple birth deliveries that result in 5 or more babies at once. All the hype about Ms. Suleman was positive until it was revealed she was a single mother of 6. That's a sad look at our society. It okay to have fertility enhanced multiple births if the parents are married, but totally irresponsible if you are not. She deserves to have everything the other parents have received from the same companies. People who would boycott a company because they give her the same gifts are completely narrow minded and selfish. Her children are no less important than anyone's children.
A lot of things went wrong, but children are a blessing regardless of the parents they were born to. Lets help the children.
