Our friendly neighborhood Chinese bankers will be greatly displeased and disappointed with this attitude. We wouldn't want them repossessing the intertubes, now would we?

Well said. I am away from tv this month and have only access to dial-up. I can guarantee that not one precious second will be spent looking up olympic crap. The only way I would ever watch the olympics again would be if the governing body allowed any and all performance enhancing drugs. I would love to see someone run the 100m in 4.2 seconds.

China's heavy-handed crusade to keep politics out of the Olympics has resulted in the Olympics being nothing but Chinese politics. Bureaucrats of the world unite, China is your god.

What would be involved in starting a movement to Abolish the Olympics ?
    Consider:
    1. the real Olympics are intended to honor the Olympian gods. FundieX-ians oppose that, they just don't know about it.
    2. country club athletes do not deserve international privilege.
    3. the Olympic Peace has been violated repeatedly by warfare.
    and
    4. only advertisers and NBC take the modern Olympics seriously anyhow.
