But I thought the GOP party line was that there was no civil war in Iraq --or did I miss something?
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
So, if it is an aftershock, it will be over soon?

(not holding breath but o'hanlon should)

When Barack Obama points out that "Reverend Wright is a child of the 60s," he shows the artistic insight that made his autobiography Dreams from my Father a genuine work of literature, and the political insight that suggests he could be the antidote to the post-left. Obama understands that the 1960s had two souls. The optimistic movements of the early 1960s extended the pursuit of happiness to the excluded and challenged America to honour the promissory note issued by the founders. The nihilist movements of the late 1960s denounced "Amerika" and the "great white west".

...with memories of Iraq's intense civil war of 2006 and early 2007 still very fresh...

JAYZ. Dorkus, you must be drinking heavily. You are not entitled to your own reality. Who do you think you are, bu$hler?

Plus, could this jagoff revisionist possibly fall any deeper into writing in the Soviet style?

    Hussein.

If we could get al Qaeda out of Iran, like McCain says, that would do it.

"He also says we should send "at least modest numbers of American troops southward" into Basra."

Isn't that were the UK pulled out last year?

Oh, it works just not the way you may think.

"Any government that presumes to represent the majority of people must confront criminal elements or people who think they can live outside the law. That's what's taking place in Basra and other parts of Iraq," Bush said. "I would say this is a defining moment in the history of Iraq."

Law? What law? I thought they haven't agreed yet what "the law" should be.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
"He also says we should send "at least modest numbers of American troops southward" into Basra. Not sure which side he wants us to take in that civil war . . . I mean, post-conflict zone."

    ---

taking sides is irrelevant... he knows the troops will be greeted as liberators and have candy and rose petals thrown at their feet.

It was just a matter of time before Iraq again imploded.
I'm so happy to see the rose-colored glasses RW think it's all going swimmingly as usual.

OT: I was ready to scream because I couldn't get these dam comments to work. I had to log out and log back in as a last straw to get them to finally let me comment !!

Mikey Oh is the mouthpiece of Neocon conventional wisdom, offering watery bromides attesting to the "success" of Freddy Kaplan's "surge." Basta!
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
time for lyrics... a song about the bush bubble?

    Bombs are flying
    People are dying
    Children are crying
    Politicians are lying too.

    Cancer is killing
    Texaco's spilling
The whole world's gone to hell
    But how are you?

    I'm super
    Thanks for asking
    All things considered
    I couldn't be better I must say

    I'm feeling super
    No, nothing bugs me
    Everything is super when you're

Don't you think I look cute in this hat?

    I'm so sorry
    Mr. Cripple
But I just can't feel too bad for you right now.
    Because I'm feeling
    So insanely super
That even the fact that you can't walk
    Can't bring me down

    Background singers:
    He's super
    Thanks for asking
    All things considered
He couldn't be better he must say

    I'm super
    No, nothing bugs me
    Everything is super when you're

Don't you think I look cute in this hat
These little pants, this matching tie
    That I got at Vogue?

Correction: Kagan, not Kaplan: the mere mention of the Father of the Surge makes my synapses overload...
  • sherifffruitfly · 1 year ago
It's part of the noise machine, spreading like the standard rightwing virus. I think it was Greenwald telling us about Kagan making up the same shit a day or two ago.

When it's time to leave this place
    I'll follow what comes easy
    Elude the human race
    Discover what still feeds me

And if my interest is waning
    I can't fake it
    Your captive audience
    Escaped for "soul renovation"

I know I might be wrong
    But I'm sick of pretending
I've listened to you too long
    And nothing's ever mended

    You can stretch the truth
And patience wears you so thin
It's just as easy to see through
    Your high self opinion

And I know I might be wrong
    But I'm sick of pretending
I've listened to you too long
    And nothing's ever mended
    Nothing's ever mended
    Nothing's ever mended

Clinton camp lies again. Says that Obama is falsely claiming he was a Professor at Chicago University.

The University puts out this statement:

    Nigel,

  • gerbilsbite · 1 year ago
Gosh, AJ, you're so naive and O'Hanlon is so right. See, what you fail to understand is that a civil war can't have more than 2 sides, and in Iraq we've already decided those sides are Shiite and Sunni. So if Shiites fight Shiites or Sunnis fight Sunnis (or if anyone fights the Kurds, apparently), then it clearly CAN'T be a civil war. QED.

    ...i need scotch.
