HHHMMMMMMM.....white trash written all over Palin...check the family's teeth. I assume they have a pit bull? Even if they don't she made a reference to one...and btw acccording to Palin the difference between a pitbull and hockey mom is lipstick? I think a more apropo reference is "lipstick on a pig".

These despicable people have no shame. It seems that all McCain can say is POW, and be "be afraid", same tactics used at the last couple of elections. I wonder when the color coded alerts will come out. What a bunch of losers. I am sick of these right wingers constantly asking Obama to admit he is wrong, and the surge is working. Why the hell aren't they asking McPain if he was wrong to back the bloody war.
I woke up this morning to hear Scarborough saying that the Bush administration did not lie before the war, and that it was a mistake that they did. He also blamed England and Germany for the intelligence. I thought I was in the twilight zone. One speech from McPain, and they forget what the Bush administration has done. The lies and manipulations seems to have been forgotten. There is no hope for this country folks, with people like this. If Obama and Biden do not win this, I just give up.

I doubt more than a handful of people outside Alaska knew who Sarah Palin was until this past week. That was kind of the whole point - to pick someone (being telegenic didn't hurt) who got people wondering, "who the hell is this person, and why is she being nominated for Vice President on the Geritol ticket?" It certainly got more people's attention than if he made a more predictable choice, say, Mitt Romney, or even (yawn) Joe Lieberman. Sure, it's bold. Stupid, but bold.

Bush puts Sept. 11 up for sale By Bill Press, May 16, 2002
Is nothing sacred anymore?
Apparently not — now that President Bush has put 9/11 up for sale to Republican donors.
After raking in $33 million from GOP fat cats in Washington this week, the Republican National Committee is now trying to squeeze a few million more from small donors across the country. Their fundraising vehicle: a letter from Vice President Dick Cheney asking people to send checks and offering a special deal.
For $150, donors will receive a framed set of three photos of President Bush in action: One, taking the oath of office. Two, addressing a joint session of Congress. Three, aboard Air Force One, talking on the phone to Dick Cheney on the morning of Sept. 11 (and probably asking Cheney's permission to return to Washington). The White House admits that President Bush gave the RNC permission to use all three photos as a pitch for campaign dough.
Now, asking for money is often seedy. Who can forget the Buddhist temple? Or the Lincoln Bedroom? But Bush's selling of that third photo, taken on September 11, sets a new, disgusting low in political fund-raising.
September 11 was a day unique in history. We suffered the worst terrorist attacks ever on American soil. And we responded by pulling together as a people like never before. From that day forward, we were no longer liberals or conservatives, Democrats or Republicans. We were Americans all: hurting, grieving, but also angry and determined to avenge our losses.
As President Bush repeated often: "September 11 is a day that unites us all." But now he's using that memorable day to divide us. September 11 no longer belongs to all Americans. From now on, it only belongs to those Republicans willing to shell out $150 for a souvenir. How tacky. It's not illegal. It's just gross. It's also a huge insult to the victims of 9/11 — who died never knowing they were helping raise big bucks for the Republican party.
This is the same George Bush who attacked Bill Clinton for selling the White House. Now he's doing the very same thing!

There could not have been a starker contrast between Mr. McCain’s night on the stage and the earlier days of the convention, a carnival of partisan rancor. It was not a forum for explaining policies or defining ideals, certainly none ever associated with Mr. McCain.
On Wednesday, the nastiest night of the week, Mr. McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, and other speakers offered punch lines, rather than solutions for this country’s many problems — ridiculing the Washington elite (of which most were solid members) and Barack Obama.
"... and was probably not appropriate to be shown."
PROBABLY? Like there's some question?
I sure hope that O'Bama, Biden, the Clintons, Big Al and General Clark start fighting back soon.

To paraphrase what I said in my piece about this: Thanks to the Republican party constantly airing that footage, you don't think of the mothers and fathers who lost sons and daughters, you don't feel sadness for the children who lost parents, you don't feel sorrow for those on the planes who called home to tell their husbands and wives one last time that they loved them.

Olbermann seems despondent. He was exiled because he openly challenged Mathews at the Dem Convention for spewing bullshit. I think his career is done at NBC which is a shame. I must also say that Rachel Maddow seems to be drinking the koolaid hope it isn't true but we shall see. It is a Republican world and to have a convention that ran for 5 days without any reference to Bush/Cheney and the disaster the last 8 years has been speaks volumes to anyone out there who has a brain. they take no responsibility for the policies, actions and mistakes that the Republican Congress and President have made. It is as if it never happened. One last point, why should Keith apoligize for the fucking Republicans. They caused 9/11, they own it, they can abuse the memory.

Where did you get that Olberman wa "exiled?" I think Matthews is the one that's on his way out. Also, where are you coming from with the comment about Maddow? Her new show is starting on Monday. She has never withheld her punches when calling out Republicans on their bull; I think that's precisely why she's getting a show on MSNBC.

Excuse me who was in New York and who was at the convention? Having a news outlet cower to the GOP because he may report the truth was part of it and also getting in Mathews face during the DEM convention. As for Maddow did you watch her complimenting McCain on his speech and parrotting the GOP pundits. So who cares if her show starts Monday, if she modifies her position we will see if she drank the koolaid. She is getting her show because NBC figures she will have viewers not because she is a leftie. The whole network is pro Republican. As far as Mathews being on his way out, what gives you that idea he is NBC's rock and biggest supporter of the GOP.

I worry for Olbermann, as well. He speaks too much truth and doesn't play along with the LIARS who pay him. I don't think Rachel Maddow has drank any kool-aid. She is probably trying to pick her fights, knowing if she fights the way she wants they will railroad her. She has to be smart and get effective punches in when its the most opportune time. I'm not giving up on her.
You know, I'm old enough to remember a day when the story drove the ratings, rather than the ratings dictating the story, when journalists would ask pertinent and pointed questions, and would investigate until they found the answers to important questions if the answers were not forthcoming. Those days are gone from the MSM with few exceptions. These talking heads are far more interested in BEING the story now, rather than reporting it,and as such have lost their moral and ethical compass as the guardians of the free press. Thank you Keith for being the exception.

The Republicans are doing a great job of destroying themselves all by themselves. And a responsible media is reporting and on occassion criticizing them for their reprehensible poilitical tactics. Democrats should vigorously argue the meat and potatoe issues that genuinely impact the lives of the vast majority of Americans. They should ignore the cultism of Sarah Palin and the freakshow of Republicans being Republicans. Keith Olbermann is doing a much better job than anyone else could of pointing out the absurdities, hypocrisies and immoralities of the McCain campaign. Obama and his supporters should focus on the ISSUES and stay out of the cesspool that is today's Republican Party.

Everyone seems to be asking why Obama would ever appear on O'Reilly, but I think one reason is obvious: now Obama's campaign can say, "Barack Obama appeared in an interview with Bill O'Reilly on FoxNews. Do John McCain and Sarah Palin have the guts to appear on Countdown with Keith Olbermann? How is McCain going to fight Bin Laden to the gates of hell if he is afraid to be interviewed by Keith Olbermann?" I would love nothing more than to see McCain reduced to a pile of lime green Jell-o by KO. And BTW, for a guy who is supposed to be - according to the GOP and a lot of the compliant, biased press - the Greatest American Hero since George Washington, John McCain sure is a whiny little bitch, isn't he?

The facts are these: The attack in New York on 9/11 happened on Bush's "watch" after he received briefings relating to the al Qaeda threat as terrorists, was aware of the trade center bombings, the Cole incident, and Clinton's attempt to destroy bin Laden's training grounds which was labelled "wag of the dog" by republicans and ignoring a specific warning that bin Laden to attack in the US while he was on vacation. Bush's failure to adhere to his duties and responsibilities under the Constitution was an egregious criminal negligence leading to the deaths of nearly 3,000 American citizens while at work in their offices while he was on a month's vacation. He should have been removed from office immediately. The raging republicans didn't see this part of history.

Did you watch the video before responding with comments? What happened on Sept 11, 2001 should never be forgotten. Innocent lives were taken and why; because they were on American soil. We've heard so much about the Holocaust of World War II but Olbermann is offended by a video on the attacks of 9/11. WHAT??? Stop drinking the kool-aid from Democrats and Liberal commentators and wake up to reality. Islamic terrorists want to eliminate the Infidel which means, if you’re not Muslim, they want you dead. Unless the U.S. continues to fight these extremists and continue to remind Americans of the devastation and destruction endured, these crazies will continue their quest. Wake up! The freedoms and opportunities you enjoy didn’t just happen- they were fought with courage, pride and blood. Don’t ever forget it!
