AMERICAblog: Ongoing primary hurting Dem 527s fight against McCain

Billary has no right to continue campaigning since Barack is so far ahead in the vote count. We have got to reject the hateful, racist, negative campaigning of Shillary and her crowd. McCain is starting to gain a lot of strength and even support among gay conservatives (Andrew Sullivan writes glowingly of him). If McCain chooses Condi Rice as his running mate, we are screwed. The GOP may trounce us once again if they are the first to elect a black woman VP. Why won't Hillary stop?!

"Howard Dean and the SuperDelegates need to show a little spine and stop Hillary from destroying what was once a sure-win in November."

It's important that if Obama loses in November, we portray the blame as landing on Hillary. The key is to demonize her and lay blame where it belongs so we can have another chance in 2012. It's not over yet, but McCain/Rice is going to make the Repugs actually look progressive and make fools of us once again. Damn that Hillary!

The democratic leadership has never been more disappointing then now. They can stop this farce. Let's face it, if the tables were turned Obama would already be an afterthought and back in the senate. To allow this to go on simply because of Hillary's last name is stupid and destructive.
While both democrats numbers go down and McCain rises, we are stuck having to humor the ego of the Clintons because the democrats are too chicken to say enough.
As for the donors threatening to withhold money unless Hillary is the nominee, I say let them. All obama has to do is send out word to his small donors and money would come pouring into the 527s and the Democratic party. These big shots have not learned that there is a new order and the small donors and the grassroots are now the ones who control the biggest money with our 25 dollars a month.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
All this makes McCain's VP choice critical. If McCain wins this thing, I don't think he will finish his first term due to health issues...physical or mental.

Lieberman?? That would finish the takeover wouldn't it.
  • jr · 1 year ago
McCombover has the home field advantage in the media now he'll have the fundraising edge. God damn Hillary and her 2012 plan b
  • theWalrus · 1 year ago
Anyone who thinks Rice would be an asset to McCain needs their head examined. I hope he picks her. She's married at the hip to Georger Bush and his disastrous policies, everytime she opens her mouth she prevaricates and (less importantly) she's rumoured to be a lesbian (typical rightwing hypocrite).

I would just love to see the clip of her proclaiming that a document titled "bin Laden Determined to Strike U.S." was simply a "historical" document. That was a good one and should be shown over and over again.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i'm not convinced that Hillary's big donors are as powerful as all that. every month we hear about the millions of dollars obama is raising from all the real Americans out there who are sick of GOPer business as usual...that goes for Hillary and her big donors too.

they aren't the only players anymore.

"The sooner we get them, and their dumb as rocks supporters out of the party, the better."

BINGO! Anyone who supports Hillary and her deceitful, corrupt, racist ways has no business in the Democratic Party. We can win the election without them as thousands of decent Republicans have switched over and will vote Obama. Anyone who supports Hillary has a problem with basic ethical values.

Hillbots don't care about the Democratic Party. They only care about Hillary.

They're just like Hillary, because she only cares about Hillary.

These idiots are destroyign the Democratic party and giving McSame the keys to the White House.
  • Jamra · 1 year ago
The Politico is an excellent site for campaign news. They have the guts, as does Matthew Drudge, to go against the PC majority and expose Billary's scandals. Don't forget, it was Drudge who first reported on the blue dress and lifted the curtain on the degenerate Clintons. I feel we need to support honest truthseekers like the writers at Politico and DrudgeReport since they have the courage to expose scandals the MSM is afraid of. Of course the Hillbots and some extremists are still trying to marginalize Drudge and Politico: http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/03/...

It's too easy to get sucked into the internal party infighting--this means little to us simple civilians out here in the hustings. Let's focus the debate where it will do Democrats some good: world affairs. The events around the Olympics--this week's torch protests--are a gift to the Democrats for demonstrating the possibilities for world leadership for human good, rather than leadership of by and for global business. There will by a torch stop in San Francisco. The turnout should be MASSIVE, not only for Tibetan human rights, but also for cleaner air, less reliance on petrochemicals, and freedom of speech and assembly. And George Bush's plans to attend in August should be in the spotlight, providing a great kick-off to the fall campaigns. These are OUR issues, and they should be in the news.

I saw a dumb redneck in a pickup truck with a McCain sticker today.

    Tom3:

Wow. You really do a lot to further the image of Democrats. Thanks a bunch.

Next time you encounter a McCain supporter, how about you try engaging him in dialog instead of helping to perpetuate the crass and idiotic politics that gets us into the mess our country is in right now? Until then, you're no better than your mental image of the average Republican.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago

I have not visited this blog in a while because I find some individuals so offensive. The comment by Tom3 about children with autism and mongolism is colossally cruel and irresponsible and is a case in point. This kind of hate speech should be banned. Tell me, Tom3, just what your purpose is: what do you hope to bring about with a comment like that? And I pray all your children will be healthy.
  • kl8n · 1 year ago
Hillary and many of her supporters think the threat that their special interest big money donors are going to withhold their cash is still valid. Things are slightly different this year. Let them take their money and run home whining about how it just isn't fair that they don't get their way. We will make up the difference in money. We already have. Us. The little people.

This isn't that much of a threat when you look at the differences in money between the Obama and Clinton campaigns. If I remember right, something like 90% of Obama's money has come from individual donors giving small amounts of money. The best part of this strategy is that when your core donors are all chipping in $20 at a time, we can always afford to give more. These small donations add up to record fundraising.

This stuff from the Clinton camp is like the snarling of a hurt and cornered dog.
  • theWalrus · 1 year ago
    tlsintx ,

Jamra (formerly ObamaMiracle) is a rightwing troll masquerading as an BO supporter. Drudge is one of his heros. What more do you need to know? Why would anyone here want to be in the same library, let alone page, as that?
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
thanks for that info, since I had wondered what an Obama supporter would be doing using such offensive language against Clinton.

I wonder how many other GOP trolls are helping foment the inter-party war?

The fact of the matter is, there are legit reasons that intelligent, moral Democrats could have to support either candidate, and we will indeed need every vote we can get in November.

Uniters don't trash their opponent's supporters.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
"Next time you encounter a McCain supporter, how about you try engaging him in dialog instead of helping to perpetuate the crass and idiotic politics that gets us into the mess our country is in right now?"

Not worth the trouble. McCainiacs are too fucking stupid to reason with.

They've been brainwashed for 8 years and are incapable of independent, rational thinking.

Funny how all these newbies show up whenever I say anything negative about Hillary or McSame. Fucking trolls.

And hopefully all the environmental activists will be there to support cleaner air and water in China, as well. And wouldn't it be wonderful if the churches, came, too? We could make it really uncomfortable for McCain and Bush this summer.

CRISIS MODE AFTER CLINTON AIDE QUITS - RawStory

The presidential campaign of Democrat Hillary Clinton was in crisis mode Monday after her top strategist was forced to quit amid a political firestorm sparked by disclosure of his lobbying ties to Colombia.

Penn quit after admitting he erred by meeting, in his capacity as a Washington lobbyist, with Colombian diplomats who backed a trade deal with the United States that Clinton opposes.

His thick contacts book was one of the factors that prompted Obama to claim Clinton's White House bid was fueled by a bankrupt Washington political system that had failed the American people.

At least I am doing something. All you pussies are like Pelosi. All talk and no action.

Nothing wrong with free speech, but repulsive swearing and calling people foul names is wrong, and gives everyone a true insight into ones breeding and lack of education. It's very difficult to take anyone seriously that uses free speech as you do.

  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
John McCain's temper is well documented. He's called opponents and colleagues "shitheads," "assholes" and in at least one case "a fucking jerk."

But a new book on the presumptive Republican nominee will air perhaps the most shocking angry exchange to date.

In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.”

Y'all will enjoy peter Funt's take on Clinton strategy here:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...

    Metrics That Point to 'C-L-I-N-T-O-N'
The Electoral Vote Metric is likely to last about as long as the failed Caucus State vs. Primary State Metric or the Red State vs. Blue State Metric. So the Clinton campaign will soon need new talking points. These are the metrics they should be pushing:
Clinton has a remarkable lead over Obama in all the "New" states. In addition to her home state of New York, she has won in New Jersey, New Hampshire and New Mexico -- giving her a clean sweep of the states that start with "New." Obama has failed to win a single New state. (Stump line: "She wins the states where being new really matters!")
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
Are the "Big Dem Donors" Democrats? I'm not so sure they are. Their choices are based on investment and economic issues rather than social justice or the common good. That makes them closer to McCain or the Bushes or Reagan than to FDR or JFK or Obama. Clinton enabled them and plans to continue to enable them. I'm not persuaded that we need or want them. Or Dean, for that matter. But maybe I'm a tad bit prejudiced against elitists in general. This is Indigo. What's up with the unverified/verify thing?

It seems to me that all too many people are ready to spread negative talk regarding Hillary Clinton. I'm tired of the positive spin for Obama and the negative spin for Clinton. Just give me a break and get on with much more important issues around Congress, Bush Administration and the war. I'm so turned off at this point that I don't want to vote at all. I've seen postings on the blogs from both sides saying the same thing. Let's all act like adults and stop the "soap opera" that the mainstream media started.
  • Johnny Quest · 1 year ago
yep: and it is becoming increasingly clear that McCain is going ot win in November. Thanks to Hillary, Obama is just another candidate fighting for power, all that overarching claims of being something new and special are gone. Plus they keep playing the race card, making it unnecessary for McCain to do so.
  • OneManComotion · 1 year ago
The fear of Obama becoming the President must be enormous given the fact that certain people will invest in the "One Party System" that exists today.

I've been reading this site for years, thanks.

You can make all the negative comments about Clinton or McCain you want. I'm an Obama man, myself. I just think that, at the very least, you do yourself a disservice by acting like an asshole. It would be one thing if your profanities were woven with some kind of insight (I swear like crazy in a lot of my writing, but at least it's to further a point of view), but you're just being mean for the sake of being mean. And then you turn around and call those of us who dare question your infinite wisdom trolls. So who's the asshole here?
