AMERICAblog: Onto the Michigan resolution

Ickes is insincere in his righteous indignation. Here comes his we won't be unified no matter what speech.
  • RenoAnne · 1 year ago
Fuck you Ickes, and fuck you Hillary.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Hillary supporters need to be housebroken..
  • RenoAnne · 1 year ago
Can we pass a bill to provide funding so that Hillary supporters might get their GED's?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Don't they have a sergeant at arms there?

They need to start putting hands on people.
  • debrazza · 1 year ago
It's official, the Obama campaign no longer has any responsible for uniting the party, it now solely in the hands of Hillary Clinton. Her supporters are now fully her responsibility.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
The hecklers were told they are dishonoring their candidate, which they should know.

    ----

    Hillary has no honor.
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
As I listen to Ickes speak, all that I keep thinking is, "What a tool."

If he wasn't who he is to the Clinton campaign, I would put a little more into what he said, but the stance that Obama deserves no delegates is just insane. He has zero credibility and his 'opinion' as a person on the panel means nothing.

Oh, and the audience members seem to reflect the craziness of their candidate.
  • debrazza · 1 year ago
    Haha, Ickes has "selective amnesia"
  • pauldem · 1 year ago
The only way the party is going to unite is when Hillary drops out and pledges her support to Obama. It looks like that may never happen so there we are. I used to really like the Clintons but am more convinced they are trying to spike this election to give Hillary a do-over in 2012. Fuck them.
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
The Clintons do not give a damn about anyone or anything, including the party, their country or the frigging world, except themselves - this crap just makes it more likely that the world gets grampy McSame
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Those aren't "Clinton supporters" -- they're a vicious mob. And we don't need mob rule.

Leave it as proposed, which seems fair, or disenfranchise the lot of them. Strong-arming an election process is NOT democracy.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Bush had his "Brooks Brothers Riot," Hillary has her "Lane Bryant Riot"
  • Independent_Don · 1 year ago
You mean that Clinton will get 34.5 pledged delegates and Obama will get 29.5 pledged delegates, right? That would be half of the 69/59 split, and reflect a five pledged delegate difference.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
Why are we even having this FL and MI hearing, or whatever the heck it is called. I have not seen TV but it seems to me that all sHillary wants is whatever is going to get her to be president. She does not care what it takes, breaking the party, pretending she'll follow the committee's conclusions, etc.

Really, next week the superdelegates should come out in force and slap her a big one this way: pledging their support for Obama.

The way these sHillary supporters act are just DINO and republicon like. They need to be kicked out from our party anyway.
  • zavlin · 1 year ago
Ickes wants a party civil war.
  • debrazza · 1 year ago
When has he not wanted party civil war? He is our own fifth column.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Good point: This motion is supported by the Michigan Democrats. Clinton and her posse are smarter than them, of course.

    ------

Hillary knows better than Michigan Democrats what's good for Michigan Democrats.

Telling the state party what to do is what Democracy's all about.

I'm overjoyed that the Clinton Claque revealed themselves to be as disgraceful as their candidate. They are Losers in every sense of the word.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
they were truly unbelievably disgusting---Jerry Springer would have rejected them!
  • Balt_O_Matt · 1 year ago
Agreed. I could feel my blood pressure rising every time they booed or hissed or started screaming. What a bunch of no-class lowlifes.
  • budpaul · 1 year ago
Wow, but the Clinton automatons sure are driving everyone up a freakin' wall!
  • zavlin · 1 year ago
    it passed, im stunned

  • debrazza · 1 year ago
Well, now they have their hat to hang on. On to Denver I guess.

Hillary is now solely responsible for her supporters. I would love someone to ask her if she is ashamed of their behavior.

    she has no shame

It would be funny if the Clinton people refused to pay for their supporters' trips home now.
  • RenoAnne · 1 year ago
FOX NEWS is going to have a field day with Hillary's clowns.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
When will HRC herself publicly denounce and reject the disgraceful, icky Harold Ickes and her appalling claque? My money's on: NEVER!
  • Cjeffery · 1 year ago
If my math is right. Clinton can not win at all set in stone can not reach the magic number unless she manages to change super delegates mind that have already come out in support of Obama and that is if she even wins a 100% of the reaming 3 states.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Rachel Maddow is the NEW Cassandra!
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
Barring Hillary taking this to the credentials committee and a couple dozen superdelegates decide to no longer be cowards, Obama will be our nominee on Tuesday night.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I don't think that will matter unless Hillary picks up a ton of Superdelegates, and that ain't gonna happen.
  • Vince in Cedar Rapids · 1 year ago
I learned a great deal today. While I am upset that we are even having this fight (thank you Hillary, and thank you Super Delegates for not committing before now), it was really neat to watch the proceedings. I think it may help the democrats this Fall because I imagine a lot of people were impressed as I was watching democracy in action. This keeps the press on the Democrats and very little for McSame Mccain. I just pray that we seal this on Tuesday and that Hillary finally admits that she can not win and bows out. If she takes this fight to the convention, she will be admitting that she only cares about herself, and does she really think Democrats would forget what she did if she gave us four more years of Bush Lite?
  • Schmomama · 1 year ago
Now, according to the RULES, Hillary has more popular votes in this election than Obama, but fewer delegates. She obtained more popular votes in Texas than Obama, but got fewer delgates. She had more popular votes in Neveda, but once again, Obama obtained more delegates. And the Obama people think that her "whining" is unnecessary. Hillary should take this to the convention. I LOVE her toughness.
  • RenoAnne · 1 year ago
McCain thanks you for your support.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Obama got more votes if you count Iowa, Nevada, Washington state and Maine.

Of course, Hillary does not count those, because then her "popular vote" argument would be shown as the scam it is.
  • Schmomama · 1 year ago
Those votes are counted at realclearpolitics.com.........
HILLARY has the most votes, period! You must have loved florida in 2000. Naturally the super delagtaes need to give the nomination to obama, since he's far too weak to close the deal himself. McCain is going to bitch-slap him like a cheap whore!
  • RenoAnne · 1 year ago
You Hillary supporters are the epitome of class.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Why don't you wait 'til the voting is over before going nuts over Hillary's 50k vote advantage?
  • Schmomama · 1 year ago
yea, she'll add another 100K after Puerto Rico. Get used to the FACT that Hillary obtained more votes than Obama in this election. Can you imagine the OUTRAGE if the opposite were true?
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Only a hillbot would think it fair to say Obama gets absolutely no votes in Michigan. How democratic. How unifying.

    How fucking absurd!
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
It is over - super delegates, it's time for you to come out in favour of Obama to end this thing now (and I mean big time to foreclose any argument that even with full votes, Billary can win).
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Let 'em come out on Tuesday night, so Obama can announce it while giving his victory speech in Montana or S. Dakota.

(In fact, I'm sure Obama has the 20 or so he'll need in his pocket right now.)
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
    3 more days.
  • Balt_O_Matt · 1 year ago
Hillary's supporters in the audience showed just how classy her campaign has been--about as classy as the gutter.

That woman, Senator Clinton, should be ashamed of herself.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yeah, but the Trailer Parks must have been nice and quiet today.
  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
it's over. McCain will be President.

heres a picture for you courtesy of Hillary Clinton.. Barack Obama, accepting the nomination, being booed in front of millions of viewers. Thanks Hillary. We wont forget what you have done.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    C'mon Chris.

Do you really think half those goobers who were yelling today were even credentialed to go to the convention?

And, all in all, it was a pretty small crowd, who can be easily shouted down.
  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
today was a bad day for the Democratic Party, and we have no one to thank but Hillary. We have democrats fighting with democrats, Hillary pledging to fight to the convention, and its civil war. All while McCain sits back and laughs.
  • Karma · 1 year ago
After seeing how irrational the Clinton supporters have become I have no faith at all that Hillary or Obama will have the ability to reign them in to unify this party. I personally don't think it can be repaired after this and Hillary is completely responsible for the animosity and split now facing our party.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Ah, C'mon.

It was just a few hundred crazies.

If it were the thousands they were promising, you might have a point.
  • Karma · 1 year ago
I wish you were right, but after seeing how Ickes cussed and behaved as part of this process it only adds justification for the Clinton supporter's abominable behavior. They will use it as a means of further disillusioning themselves from reality. Taking this to the convention, and Hillary will drag this out until then no matter what happens between now and Tuesday, is contentious and will only prolong the misinformation and hateful attitudes of her supporters. Also the media will use it as folly to disgust remaining supporters who are confused and fed up with all of this.
  • debrazza · 1 year ago
Threatening to take it to Denver is the only way for her to remain relevant. Once she is out of the news, her army of supporters are going to dry up really fast.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
If Clinton is allowed to steal the nomination from Sen. Obama, the WH will become McSame's by default. She will have divided the party that much.

I hope that Hillary is happy to have been the person that destroyed the unity of the Democratic Party. In my book she is only a step or two above my feelings for Bush.
  • martha · 1 year ago
I don't think in my whole life I have ever changed my opinion of someone so dramatically. A few months ago I would have been thrilled if Hillary Clinton was the nominee of my party. Today, I really think she is a vile, despicable, dishonest person, who has absolutely no love of our country, just love of herself.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
I agree. I have had it with Hillary's racism, sense of entitlement, Bill's gnarled finger being constantly shook at us, her phony "sniper-fire" heroics, her buddy-buddy McSame support...all of it. It would be best for our party and our nation if she simply stepped aside. But she won't her ego is at least as big as Bill's.

    Obama '08!
  • suntan · 1 year ago
Once again the Dem Party has demonstrated that rules are made to be broken. Now that the delegates from Michigan and Florida are needed they, Howard "clueless" Dean and his cronies have determined to move the finish line after the race has started. This is why the Dem. candidate WILL LOSE in Nov. I will be so glad to see them whine in distress making all sorts of excuses as to "election fraud and racism" as the reason for such a staggering loss. ALL HAIL THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA John "amnesty" McCain.
  • purplegirl · 1 year ago
Schmomama, RCP does not show Clinton leading in popular vote, in fact, it shows him leading in every category.
    Obama - Clinton
    Total Delegates 1983 - 1782 Obama + 201
    Super Delegates 324 - 283 Obama + 41
    Pledged Delegates 1659 - 1499 Obama + 160
    Popular Vote 49.1 - 47.7 Obama +1.4
    Popular Vote (w/FL) 48.3 - 47.8 Obama +0.5
    Nat'l RCP Average 51.0 - 42.0 Obama +9.0
  • LeslieB · 1 year ago
Watch, Hillary will appeal Michigan's 4 delegates to the convention. Even though she won't have an argument for appeal.
  • Gary SF · 1 year ago
The Clinton supporters are handling this with they level of dignity expected - NOT.
