AMERICAblog: Osama's driver gets 5 months. Wow, glad we caught that guy.

    Hmmm,

Notice how sort of the only people found guilty the last few years were ALOT of people ACTUALLY working with and for the Bush Administration

    LOL

    You are so insanely correct!

    Bush's driver is very relieved.

Surely there was some dope, opium perhaps, in the car? We could like imprison him for life then right?

The whole terrorism thing just doesn't keep him behind bars like a good dope arrest would.

Did they at least suspend his Driver's License?

Reminds me of those guys ( Liberty City 7 ) in Miami a few years ago who had no intention of blowing up the Sears Tower....they just wanted to dupe the guy for money to just buy clothes for their group.
Geeze, remember the TV coverage...what a mess.

Those poor guys ( hmmm, and I do mean poor )

2 mistrials, one this past December, the other mistrial in April.

The short sentence terrorists will get a case of Pepsi and free flying lessons as parting gifts...

This guy got five months for driving Osama to the beard salon, and Aussie rambo-wannabe loser David Hicks got nine months.
These guys are the "worst of the worst killers" according to Chimp, and they get these piddly little sentences even under the massively rigged military courts.
  • OleHippieChick · 1 year ago
They got NOTHING. They only hold these terrists so bush and dick can get their torture porn on.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
    Precisely.

Let's see. ..did Hitler's secretary get a prison term? Oh wait, no, she went to Switzerland and wrote a book. . .
  • jcgraham77 · 1 year ago
OMG>>>>and how much did that cost??
  • iamevolved · 1 year ago
Let's be accurate here. The court gave him 5 years 6 months WITH CREDIT FOR TIME SERVED of 5 years 1 month. Credit for time served is a very customary procedure in many criminal cases.

I agree that the neo-cons are absolutely freaking idiots when it comes to painting every incident and person with the terrorist brush, but let's not stoop to their level and continue to report inaccuracies.

Isn't it odd how his sentence gets him released after the November elections but before Bush leaves office? What a coincidence.

Osama's driver gets 5 months. Wow, glad we caught that guy.

Now that is what you call punishment for a "real terrorist."
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
My guess is that if they had caught a rat living in Osama's cave, the neocons would be jumping up and down, screaming for the death penalty.

BTW, Osama was supposed to be hiding in a cave in Afghanistan, yet he has a driver for his limousine. Something doesn't add up.
  • iamevolved · 1 year ago
He hasn't always been in a cave.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
    What a relief!
Boy, that guy's not going to drive around any bigshot terrorists in the Afghan or Pakistan mountains anymore.
    The danger is over.
  • missmarple · 1 year ago
So many of you are focusing on the short sentence - BUT - the guy has been in Custody for 5 years and 1 month already and he is very possibly going to be in our custody as an Enemy combatant until we win the War on Terror. Given that this isn't your typical War - he may be it Gitmo forever. Can anyone tell me exactly how we will know that we've won it?

An interesting point on this issue - and I have heard no one except Rachel Maddow address it: This guy receives five and a half months and is given credit for time served, which is five months. So, he is technically eligible for parole in two weeks. Boy, I guess he is really dangerous.

Yeah, but they caught the Barber of Baghdad. His crime was giving people haircuts. No, really.
  • Rufus · 1 year ago
Chew on this. They try a tiny fish first and they are so fair they acquit him of the serious charge and only give him a minor sentence. Wow, see how fair and impartial military tribunals are -- now bring in the next poor bastard. Guilty of all charges and death sentence to be carried out before January 20, 2009, so our Leader can have a front row seat and bragging rights. Disgusting.

"Bush cuts down brush. He's manly and doesn't need to catch bin Laden and Zawahiri"-cable news
  • mabo · 1 year ago
Note that the sentence is just long enough to make what to do with him the next president's problem.
