Bush has looked un-presidential every time the camera has been on him while he has been in Beijing. I can't wait until he is gone.

Perhaps he was tapping out "Yankee Doodle" at the time. More likely ,however, it was "99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall".

That was disgusting. He was deliberately mocking the flag and hoping we would see it. Of all Americans, he should be the most aware of how significant the flag is to Americans, far more than most other nations revere their flags. I'm sure when he left, he just dropped it, leaving it to be trampled again hatefully thumbing his nose at us.
If you think this was accidental, think again. Remember how often we've seen him being disrespectful of the sacred symbols of America, flag, our Constitution and Bill or Rights, far more than could possibly be an accident. Think how carefully other presidents have been not to show any sign of anything that might hurt their image, how Kennedy used to hide his cigar smoking by putting the still burning cigars into his coat pockets ruining many, many suits. When Johnson picked up his dog by the ears, he was excoriated and you can bet he would never have done it again. Bush gets great joy in giving us the finger.

We, Progressives, would give him the benefit of the doubt had his fascist Republican party not spread the word the flag is to be worshipped. Therefore, he made his own bed when it comes to treating "flag symbols" with EXTREME respect! See, its the same old story... Republicans don't really give a rat's ass about our flag or "the little people" or "the troops." They just SAY they care about those things and then SCREAM VERY LOUDLY that Democrats do not. Republicans are hypocrites. They say one thing and do another OVER and OVER and OVER again. I'm sure Fox News will intertrep the President's action as, "President Bush is lovingly stroking the American flag against his leg, and giving the flag love pats. Isn't our President just the best?"

At the very best, it shows he is a shallow, empty person with no self-discipline and no character. He not only can't manage to avoid looking bored, but he dishonors our flag by banging in on his knee. It is about as statesmanlike as his dog, piddling on the shoe of a foreign diplomat. Personally, I don't believe he did it accidentally, as he is too well known for his disdain for accepted behavior, the worst being his deliberately passing gas in front of guests. This is a very crude, vile person who deliberate flouts the proper behavior that is accepted among civilized Western cultures.

petty, but accurate. rethugs would have lost their fucking hard on if they saw that on TV. Assuming they were in the middle of closing the deal with a rent-boy in a dump of a hotel room in Minneapolis.

You noticed that, eh? ;-) "It will put the cream on its back and rub it in." " Where's Precious?" " It will put Precious in the bucket and give her back to me, NOW!" ;-)

This is a REALLY good article about McCain vs. Obama and the whole Edward's affair:
"Now personally, I don't think anybody's sex life has any bearing on a campaign, except to the extent that the candidate runs as a hypocrite, extolling family values, fighting gays while fighting his own gay demons, etc. But John McCain is increasingly making this campaign about character, and his actions over many years suggest some worrisome patterns that fly in the face of the entire story he tells about himself. Setting aside his cheating on his first wife, what about his attending to something other than the people's business as a member of the Keating Five (and ultimately contributing to a bailout that cost middle class American taxpayers the equivalent of nearly half a trillion in 2008 tax dollars -- imagine the middle class tax break we could offer if we weren't still paying off the principal and debt on that boondoggle); or hiring the most dishonest, amoral campaign team money could buy in 2008; or generating one fabricated or grossly misleading charge after another against Obama in the last three weeks (as in his sleazy new tax ad where, for example, he says Obama would raise taxes on small businesses when Obama has never proposed anything of the sort)? Like George W. Bush, he doesn't seem like a man who once was lost but now is found. He seems more like a man's whose principles are soluble in self-interest."
Actually it should be titled , Our Boring President.

Well, everything has been a horrific disaster the last 8 years, might as well go out with a nuclear exchange with Russia. I notice the little necons on some of their idiot sites aren't howling to bomb Russia like they've been to bomb Iran or Syria. It's one thing to call from randomly blowing up people who can't really fight back. Totally another thing with a power that can and mom's basement wont protect them.

This will really piss you off...we went to a pool party yesterday and met a fellow who is a freelance writer. He edits financial reports for large corporations, among many things he works on. Bear in mind, this guy is a very far left progressive. Anyway he began telling me how up until Bush, big corporations like Exxon or Walmart CEOs were able to pay themselves obscene bonuses that were pittance compared with now. They have been devaluing stock (I do not know exactly what he meant by all this). For the last four years, knowing that Bush would trash the party, they have been raping and looting their companies and their own stock holders because the Bush Administration basically told them to go for it. That they should make hay while the sun shines. In some cases they have deliberately trashed the company in order to pay themselves huge money. This apparently used to be limited to only the really big ones like oil and pharma but the word got out and now everyone is doing it. And it has increased a great deal since MCCAIN WON THE PRIMARIES. Meaning they expect Obama to take this and Congress to be Dem controlled. He was telling me that it could get as bad as 1929 if the pace continues between now and January. And no one in the MSM is paying any attention to this. They are screwing even their most ardent GOP supporters.
I have not explained this very well because I do not fully understand how it works. Just giving you a summation of what he said.

When you let the FOX guard the hen house, the price of egg McMuffins goes up. Just because the neocon financial pundits spin a good web doesn't mean there is a stitch of truth in it. Patriotic Americans are doing what they can to expose these Republican bonus schemes. Too bad the MSM is too dirty to do it..

Oh, good grief: Matt Lauer is interviewing Dan Quayle, of all people, on McCain's and Obama's VP deliberations and on John Edwards' infidelity. Who gives a flip what the national punch line has to say about anything? The years haven't been kind to him either.

The village idiot spat on our constitution, messed this country up with failed policies, and have let the American people down, big time. So hitting his leg with the flag is really, nothing in comparision. After the last few disastrous years, isn't it unbelievable, that there is a small percentage of Americans, who still support this miserable man and his VP. I guess between Faux News and the kool aid, there is no hope for them.

Bush feels comfortable enough in Red China to put his flag bashing tendencies on full display. Don't hold back, George. Show the commies how you really feel about America and her patriotic symbols.

Bush could wipe his ass with the flag and his 28% would still swoon over his Godliness.
Bush ran in 2000 on Clinton's un-ready army. Bush has broken the US Armed Forces.
Bush has sold the USA to the Communist dictatorship in China, but the dictatorship in Iraq was unacceptable.
The media are still under orders from their corporate overlords to let Bush ad McCain get a free pass for everything.
Or the military.
